Fair Oaks Exterminators Reviews

"The technicians who have serviced my house appear to be competent and pleasant folks. And,

, the service manager is very professional and responsive. The problem is with the customer service/billing people on the phone.
Fair Oaks Exterminators Provider Name Locked
boasts that you do not need to be home for the service, and they do an automatic billing to your credit card for services they determine have been completed. I have to admit, a few red flags went up when I heard of these policies. However, In my case, I have a dog, and my yard is locked, so I made it clear that they needed to make an appointment with me or they would not be able to service my property. Then in December I received an automatic bill for $99, but they had not been scheduled. I expected that this might have been a computer billing issue, and could easily be cleared up with a phone call. My first call got a young man who told me that the billing was correct, that the technician had turned in a service receipt. I explained, that 1) they didn't have an appointment, and 2) the technician could not serviced my home because he did not have physical access. Additionally, I was home that whole day working with electricians, and the

technician had not been there. But, he insisted that the work was done and the charge would remain. After a few minutes of his increasingly firm statements and absolute refusal to listen, our talk was getting a little heated. There was a second discussion going on in the background of his office, and eventually the $99 was credited. Thank you. I also told him to make sure I was taken off of their automatic billing system. He confirmed. However, a couple of weeks later, I received another automatic $99 charge on my credit card for

. I again called the office and this time spoke with a woman who told me that the service had been performed, and the credit I received wasn't valid. I again told her the circumstances of my property and the day in question. She insisted that the technician's GPS showed that he serviced my house. I explained again. No dice. The $99 was going to stand, period. She repeatedly talked about the GPS being proof that I had received the service. I told her that it was physically impossible for him to service my home that day, or any day without an appointment (locked gates, etc.), and his GPS only told her that he was in my neighborhood. But, she also had that service receipt submitted by the technician! I asked, "which part of this do you not understand? He did not service my house!!" After about 15 minutes on the phone with her, I was completely outraged. I wanted my $99 credited back to my card! I asked if I needed to contact an attorney? Or, would a review on Angie's List help? Nothing was working with this woman! I asked for a manager, and of course no one was in at the time. Have them call me back, I said. About an hour later,

the Service Manager called back, and in just a couple of polite sentences, apologized, credited my account, and offered me $30 off my next service. Wow! Where had he been all this time??? The scheduled service day came...NICE GUY, GREAT SERVICE! I was still mad, and vented a little about my phone experience. He mentioned that the office staff has to answer a lot of confrontational calls from customers, and might get a little frustrated with the same questions and discussions over and over. I told him there were a few hints in his statement, like what are you guys doing wrong that there are so many confrontational calls; and why are either of these people allowed to talk with customers? I admit, it was an unfair question to ask the technician, but I was still so frustrated with the customer service people that I couldn't help myself. The technician was great. He tried to let me know that he valued my business.....

I have NEVER experienced such rude and unprofessional people as the two I spoke with on the phone. Terrible. Not a good way to grow a business.

NOTE 1 - The Service Manager
Fair Oaks Exterminators Provider Name Locked
and the technician's I have worked with so far were all great. However, I will not renew my contract with this company because of the terrible way I was treated on the phone. Someone has to be responsible for employing these folks, and allowing them to talk to customers that way.

Note 2 - I am also concerned that paperwork and GPS data was submitted for automatic billing when in fact my house had not been serviced. Granted, this may have been a

mistake. But.....

Note 3 - A week or so after the last service, I received an invoice that did not include the $30 discount
Fair Oaks Exterminators Provider Name Locked
had offered. I was not looking forward to my next conversation. Surprise! I woman answered the phone who was very nice, treated me like a valued customer, thanked me, etc.! Are things looking up? We'll see. I have another contracted service in a few months. Crossing my fingers.

"iAfter the bedbug infestation was assessed, the technician told us that we had to pack up most our belongings and put them in plastic bags with mothballs. This was a huge project because it was three rooms. Maybe the company should have some references of people one could call that provide this service. Then the rooms were fogged and our downstairs livingroom furniture was sprayed, since it was possible the bb could have been transported. We had not realized this was going to be done while we were still in the house and it could have been handled better because we still had not completed packing for vacation. Since the bedbugs can hide in the smallest cracks and crevices and live up to a year, we decided to replace the carpets, cleaning all the floors prior to installation. Since the treatment involved fogging the rooms, and spraying the furniture, cleaning the residue off walls, windows, etc., turned out to be another chore. Overall, the treatment seems to have worked, but I think if we had not been so rushed, we would have spent more time looking for a less poisonous method."

"Everything went fine. we've had them for years and if you have issues or problems with bugs after they've come out to do a treatment, they come back free of charge."

"I woke up to a horrible problem with ants in my kitchen. Called several companies for quotes. I decided to go with Pioneer.
Fair Oaks Exterminators Provider Name Locked
had great phone service and took the time to explain everything. They are a small, family-run company and I am always out to keep those in business. Their pricing was based on the size of my home (1400'). I went with a year's service. The initial service was for inside and outside and was $110.00. They come back every other month for $62.00. I was blessed to have

(the owner) take care of our service. The attention to detail was amazing. The service took about an hour and a half. So far the ants are gone!!!! YEEEAAAHH! I highly recommend

"This company calls me every two months to make sure I will be home, so they can come spray. The cost for the service is really cheap and for the quality of work that they do it is worth every penny."

"There was some confusion regarding my date and time. They called and changed it from Wednesday to Thursday due to a duplicate booking, but the gentleman showed up at the Wednesday date and I was not prepared. He was very courteous and moved some of the outdoor stuff away from the house so he could spray. They did not tell me to move anything against the home away.
