    I recently had a warning light come up on my VW Passat. I thought it was related to the backup lights that I had replaced not long ago. I popped into Escondido German Auto to have them take a look. The place was very busy, but I explained to Derek what the problem was and he said ���Let���s take a look.��� We walked over to my car and he dismantled the housing and determined that it was just a burned out right signal light and replaced it. When he finished I asked him for advice about routing an iPhone charging cord through the dashboard so that it would not be in the way of the radio dials and turn signals. He jumped into the front seat and quickly pulled a panel surrounding the head unit (radio) and dashboard. He then fished the USB cord through the back of the panel (something that would have taken me considerable time and potential damage to the dashboard.) When he was done I pulled out my wallet and headed toward the office to pay; he stopped me and said ���it���s on us - Merry Christmas.��� What a wonderful surprise. When has a dealer ever done that!!

    I am deeply troubled and disappointed by the substandard level of customer service I received at West Escondido Automotive and Transmission. I am a customer who had an Ignition Interlock Device through AlcoAlert. I appreciate the fact that I was serving a punishment by having this device in my car, and I weighed that into my expectation of the level of service I should get. However, after being to two other service centers in San Diego, the level of service and hospitality at West Escondido was so far below a tolerable level. If you happen to have an AlcoAlert IID, go somewhere else. I work in Customer Service for a major airline, and so I deal with people who have all sorts of problems all day long. Some are nice, some are mean. Some problems are their fault, some are not. I do this all day long, and regardless of what their issue is, it���s never acceptable to treat someone at a sub-human level. After the place I usually went to in El Cajon closed, the service center in Escondido was the next closest business. When I called to make an appointment, even if was an emergency appointment for the next day, the person on the phone was always super friendly and helpful. It was a different story in person though. For every single appointment, I was asked to come in first thing, right when they open. I wasn���t given an option, I was told that���s when I have to come in. On one occasion, I actually showed up right when they open, as they asked, and it was an hour before the guy who would be working on my car even started his shift. It���s great waking up early to sit at an auto shop for an hour for no reason. Every time I came in, I was made to feel very unimportant, and unvalued. I was made to feel like a last-priority customer. This was tolerable until I started paying hundreds in fees for device problems that were not my fault. When I start giving you my money, you start respecting me. I gave some feedback to the business and they called and left a voicemail saying they wanted to talk. I called back and it went straight to voicemail so I wrote in. I never heard anything after writing in, so I am publishing my experiences so everyone can know what kind of place this is. I am so happy I do not have to go here any more and you can trust that I will never ever go back.

    They checked and told me that it isn't anything that requires repair at this time. They told me what to check and how to do it. I was charged nothing. Oil change accomplished with speed and efficiency. Always open honest and friendly.

    Service dept is generally very good. The manager Greg and assistant Ethan are top notch, very personal and professional and they always keep me informed of the latest coupons and deals. However, some of the others in the parts department leave much to be desired: rude, avoids any eye contact and generally unprofessional. They don't even speak when I walk up to the counter!! There's actually been several occasions, including this week that I've called and (I've been told) mine name comes up in caller Id and the phone rings and rings then I'll call on another phone with a different Id and they answer right away. Also several times, including today when I've walked up to the service dept the other technicians cover their mouths and began whispering then look at me, (as if I can't see them) very humiliating. I've reported them but it seems to be getting worse. As of today I've decided I'm not going back and spending my hard earned money for the good service they provide to be treated like crap from the underlings. Hope you have a better experience!

    I don't have a lot to compare the price to. I could maybe do better elsewhere, but I trust their service. I would absolutely use them again, and I have over the years. I keep going back because it is very close to my home. I feel like they give me very complete service. The work was done within a course of a day. I took it in at 7 o'clock in the morning, and it was done by 3 o'clock. You get a loaner car. I don't know if they have a shuttle or not. The service representative that they assign to you for visit after visit, keeps all of your records on their computer, so they know exactly what's going on in your vehicle. They are very friendly, and after awhile do get to know you. They explain everything. They offer beverages and a television.

    If there was a way to make the rating lower I would do so. My last review was held hostage by EXPRESS TIRE. I will try to explain this as best I can. After I spent $5000 to repair both my vehicles they came out with same issues as when they went in. I Talked to a senior manager named Arturo and Luis the technician who said that they would "take care of me," no problem, Luis said but before they do the repairs they needed me to write them a great review on Yelp (this is exactly what the told me). I did as they asked in order to get the work done. Then after I found out it was due to there error that I had to bring it back, got one vehicle working , however when it came to the other vehicle they refused to fix it. This vehicle was in need of a repair for the EXACT same issue it had from before I brought it to them. They wanted me to pay twice to correct the same issue. I swear to Jesus it happened exactly as f-ed up as it sounds. I spoke to Arturo again and he started spewing hella BS as to why it was my fault for his mechanics not being able to do the correct repair the first time. Said that his guys never performed a diagnostic on the vehicle and were going by a quote I showed them from another mechanic. They never asked me to do an inpection i said, your job is to diagnose the car yourselves and not rely on another mechanics work. He says, they couldn't do a diagnostic because the vehicle came in with a flat tire. I said, so what why didn't you inspect the vehicle after you put on the four new tires I bought, and tell me why you were repairing my car blind and with no plan to diagnose what was actually wrong with the car?? He had no logical answer whatsoever. I called him a CROOK and he threatened he would fight me when I came down to pick up the vehicle! These guys our INEPT mechanics and experienced CON ARTISTS. I am a father of 3 and depend very much on my vehicle to provide for them and these bastards have really put me into a terrible situation. I write this review not only because I was scammed but also to genually try and prevent any other family from going through this as well. PLEASE TRUST ME, DO NOT GO...

    It was quite a bit of work. I really like that their shop. Sometimes I stop in for a minor problem and they will fix it real quick - no charge - and off I go. They will let me know when there is something else that might be a problem. I've actually been using them for some time now.

    They are great. I have had to use them a few times. The price is very competitive. I am totally satisfied. 

    A friend of mine works in the office there that's how I got there in the first place. The work they do is exceptional. I would say that they are very accommodating. IF there is anything i notice that has been overlook, which has only happened once, they fix it right away. The workers are great.

    I had a problem with the way it was riding.  I took in for 2 or 3 different things.  They fixed most of it except for what I chose to not fix.  It was something with the drive shaft.  Something with the gearing.  The vehicle wasn't worth fixing it.

    They're very good. The price is better than if you take it to the dealership. The quality of the work is really good. The owner is the only guy that works there. He's the only one I go to for the car. I happened to find him in my phone book and his main thing is Hondas but he does all Japanese cars. He's very personable and he knew his stuff.
