Countertop Installation reviews in Encinitas

    DM Building Inc
The work completed was of the highest quality. Danny, the owner of DM Building, is a fair and honest business owner, and very responsive. He has a very skilled group of people and they did a great job from start to finish. Our foreman, Scott, who treated the project like it was his own home, provided excellent guidance and help throughout the remodel. The attention to detail was impressive and suggestions were made along the way which made the house even better. Most of the workers are employees which helps in scheduling work. We did work with some contractors recommended and managed by DM Building for kitchen and laundry cabinets, as well as tiling and flooring--and they were professional and did excellent work. In my case, I had never done a remodel and my husband was the main contact in initiating the work. Unfortunately, he died when we were in the middle of the rebuild. Danny, Scott and his crew were very supportive and helped me through the remodel, over and above my expectations, accommodating additional changes and working with me to get everything completed. The house is beautiful.

    Remodel Works Bath & Kitchen
We went with Remodel Works based on the strength of previous reviews and the attention to detail we saw from the designer. Much of this job went quite well. The designer (Yvette) was clearly knowledgeable and did a great job helping us choose everything needed to help carry out our vision for remodeling the bathrooms. The project manager, Paul, was personable, easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and unflappable (in the face of dust setting off our loud smoke detector on the first day of the job, Paul remained calm while trying to sort out how to turn to the alarm off). By the end of the job, we were quite pleased with the final product, which we continue to enjoy months later. However, our overall ratings were diminished because of numerous red flags along the way. Based on what we heard, it appears that Remodel Works was either under new management, or the current management was not making quality a high priority. More than once, contract workers would show up only to discover that materials they needed had not yet been delivered. This appeared to be directly related to expect too few people to cover too many jobs. At a couple of stages of the project, people discovered belatedly that the wrong materials had been ordered. More than one of the crew told us that these shortcomings had not occurred often in the past, but were now frequent. Various stages of work would repeatedly be delayed at the last minute as it would suddenly be discovered that someone could not work on a particular day. When it was discovered in a couple of cases that the wrong item had been ordered, it took a couple of months for the replacement to arrive, only to discover that it was also the wrong item. As a result of all of this, a project that was projected with a clear, detailed timeline to be finished in 4-1/2 months (including buffers for things slipping between the cracks), finally ended only after 9 months. In parallel, throughout the project, it seemed that miscommunications from bookkeeping on pending payments were routine. This isn't to say that none of those who worked on our home were professional. At least two come to mind (Javier and Drew), both of whom were excellent. However, the overall result was not one that inspired confidence.

    Freedom Renovation Inc
Freedom Renovation was fantastic!! From the first call to the last my project manager Allen was the most punctual and responsive contractor I have ever worked with. The entire process was very easy and straight forward. I was updated weekly or daily on the progress while I was at work. Their team always kept the work area clean and even put up dust barriers before they started. The quality of the work they performed was amazing to say the least. I have already recommended them to all of my friends and family.

    Remodel Works Bath & Kitchen
I did a major master bathroom remodel, and wanted someone to take me through from start to finish, since I have no expertise of my own. Aleigh was wonderful at drawing up the plans, and helping me choose everything at their showroom, based on my budget. Once I was on their calendar, I was told there would be no interruptions in the work, after it began. This was absolutely true, thanks to Brett who was the perfect project manager. I was given a detailed itinerary and they stuck to it. Brett was always monitoring the work and answered any questions I had immediately, always with a smile on his face. Aleigh was also available to help with questions that came up. The workers always showed up on time and everything was kept extremely clean. I would say Aleigh and Brett were a dream team, as they anticipated every need, and there were no budget overrides, no surprises. I would definitely recommend this company, especially if you need a little hand-holding. I don't feel that I could have done much better price-wise, even if I had done all the leg work myself, and the results were absolutely beautiful. I'm spending the rest of the summer enjoying my gorgeous new bathroom.

    Premium Cabinets
Sorry for the late review. This project turned out great. Luke found us a cabinet that matched our pool table really nicely. The cost was a little more than the cheapest place we found, but his cabinets are better quality and his price was still less than Home Depot. He also referred us to a great granite fabricator who did a really nice job with the granite. The pictures speak for themselves.

Sheen was great to work with during the entire design and build process. He helped us make wise choices for our cabinets, windows, tile, and bathroom fixtures. We had a deadline and Sheen's team was able to finish as planned and on budget...not very common these days! He also helped us several months afterwards when we had a problem with our tile floor. He came to our house on multiple occasions until our issue was resolved. I highly recommend Specialty Home Improvement.

    Remodel Works Bath & Kitchen
The remodeling and design went very well. Designer, John DeLuca, took the time to make sure that we got the look and feel that we wanted. Project manager, Jeff Aldridge, set up work schedule that worked out very efficiently for us. He stopped by everyday to check on the progress and answer questions we might have about the project. The technician, Ashley Kruckenberg, was prompt and reliable. He made us feel comfortable in any of the work that he was doing.

Jon and his crew did a fantastic job. We felt we were in good hands from the outset, and we worked from budget to completion very efficiently and with high quality results. Jon stands by the work and made sure everything was done to perfection, we would hire him again without a doubt. The craftsmen were not only skilled but friendly and courteous and it made the process a lot easier to handle.

    True Grain Woodworks Inc.
Steve is amazing at what he does and to make it even better he is a great guy. His attention to detail, ability to communicate and his availability for communication are unmatched. I can't say I ever tried to get in touch with Steve and didn't get him to answer immediately or call me back within 5-10 minutes. The quality of the work Steve did on this kitchen is amazing. We had a lot of custom elements and he was able to pull them all off without a hitch. He offered some great ideas of his own and never in a pushy manner. If I had to criticize Steve I'd say that he doesn't want to meddle with your vision so he tends to keep his mouth shut even if his vast experience tells him what you are doing may not look right. That said, if you push him on an answer and an opinion he will give it to you. This, in my opinion is a great trait for a man in this line of work. In short, I'd work with Steve 100 out of 100 times no matter the cost and I'd recommend you do the same. In fact I hope to work with him again soon. I'll try to get some photos uploaded here shortly.
