Called, talked to him, told me I should go to a store which he didn't know the name of to look at attic stairs, called and told him I could not find it.  Asked if he could call me back so we could schedule a date.  I was flexible on the stairs and where he bought them.  No response.

The initial estimate was to replace 17" 3/4" x 30" push out casement window.  Window was to be installed permanently closed, no  hinges, no latch.  Apply 2 coats white semi-gloss paint before installation. $150.00
    Replace 17 3/4" x 30" push casement window, paint, caulk. $294.98  Total Bill:  $444.98
The technician came to residence with pre-painted window and installed window with hinges and latch.  I mentioned that window was supposed to be installed permanently closed but accepted as he had installed because he would have had to redo job.
When invoice was submitted to me via e-mail, it was the original estimate.  I emailed Xtra Hand and said that invoice was incorrect as 2 coats of semi-gloss paint was not applied and window was a pre-painted window and was installed with hinges and a latch; therefore, no caulking.  I also sent pictures of the installed window showing the old paint.
I also called them the same day and explained this.
Xtra Hand offered to come out and paint window and make any other changes.  I told them I felt they were trying to deceive me and told the office person that I did not want them to do anything else for me.  I told them to correct invoice and mail to me and please to not bill me for work that was not done.
Xtra Hand sent corrected invoice on September 17, 2014 and claimed that semi gloss paint was applied but was not invisible as it was clear.  Replacement of window with 2 coats of white semi gloss paint before installation = $150.00; Push out casement window, paint, hinges, latch = $281.14   Total bill = $431.14
I wrote on the invoice that window was not attached, as it had been taken out by me previously and put back and was being held in place by latch, as hinge was dry rotted off.  $281.14 to lift out window is robbery.
I decided to pay bill as submitted as Xtra Hand was determined to milk me for all it could.

I tried to call the estimator back. He never returned my phone calls for his estimation. It's all about the feedback. When you get the estimation, nobody calls you back. When you call and want to discuss it, there's nobody available. I leave messages, nobody has called me till today. I even called him on his cell phone, he didn't call me back.

We couldn't have been happier with Bob. Not only did he show up every day on time, but he was cheerful, pleasant to be around and an amazingly hard worker. Bob does all the work himself, which I like. We are first-time homeowners and this work appeared overwhelming and mysterious. He guided us through each step of his progress and now we have a strong understanding of the structure of our home. All of the work looks great and works great. We will absolutely work with him again.
