    Bailey Tree Company Inc
The person who came to give us an estimate gave us a fair price however told us that they wouldn't be able to remove the stump without damaging the fence. We explained the fence will be getting replaced in the near future to which he responded that when that time came to call them and they will come back out to finish the job. When we called to schedule this, it took 3 weeks to get an answer back from the company. When someone finally called us back, they told us that they would charge us $100-150. This is not what was discussed initially and the tone of the person calling us was rather abrupt and off put that we insisted it was. He stated it "wasn't in our contract", when both my husband and I know that it was agreed they would come back out to finish the job. The tree work that was actually completed was fine by the team that came out that first day, (trimming and tree removal(not stump) and the price was reasonable. But the customer service is awful. I cannot recommend them based on their inability to uphold an agreement and response time to get back to us on it.

Don & Son Tree Service/ Don's Tree Service.
These Guys are great! John gave us a fair estimate and then the crew came out a few days later. The crew, Scott (the saw man), Randy and three others were friendly, courteous and professional. They went well beyond my expectations on everything including the cleanup afterwards. I highly recommend them.

    Arbor Tech Services
I wanted to leave this company a good review. During estimate, Richard, the arborist, impressed me with his tree knowledge and I picked up some good tips on care and maintenance. Richard told me they want to be a "boutique" arborist. In other words, top of the line service which of course goes along with top of the line prices. I care very much about my trees so, although Arbor Tech's prices were astronomical, I did not flinch at the estimate. I wanted the best service for my trees. The issue came with the actual work being done. The crew foreman (the guy in the photo above listed as "our wonderful foreman") was literally a jerk. Completely disrespectful. I have no idea who he thinks he is but he obviously understands nothing about customer service which, of course, is his job. He also did not listen to my requests. My requests had nothing to do with health of tree and were okayed by arborist but the foreman was obviously annoyed with any "special requests". Lastly, to top it all off, at the end, he's on the phone out in front of my house for a long time. His crew is sitting around. Meanwhile, I'm waiting for them to leave to log on to work as I'm working from home that day. He has not completed the transaction with me so I'm waiting. It was taking quite some time, so eventually I go outside and stand in driveway and wave over to him. He ignores me. I wait a while longer. Wave again. As in: Hello, remember me, I am your current customer who is waiting for you to complete the transaction. He ignores me again. Finally decides to get off the phone and I kid you not, walks up to me, and states "You need to understand. You need to wait. I have important business to take care of". Yep, he did. I called the company that same day to give them feedback & Maria said Richard would call me. No one called. After about three weeks, called the office again. New receptionist took message. Richard called me back but said he didn't have time to talk will call back following day. That was two weeks ago. Still no return call. It's now been over a month since service. At this point, I have no choice but to conclude they are obviously not interested in customer feedback. So if you like paying top dollar to be completely disrespected & ignored in your own home, please give this company a call.

    East Bay Sprinkler & Drip
Johnnie is awesome and very professional. The prices are extremely competitive for the quality of work he provides. I am very satisfied with a all of the work that was done. I will be hiring East Bay Sprinkler and Drip again to install drip lines around pool landscape and definitely other jobs in the future.

    Arbor Tech Services
Office and field staff were nice, polite, and professional. Phone calls to the office were returned promptly. They did an excellent job removing the birch, which was leaning severely over the fence towards the neighbor's house. They took great care watching not to damage other plantings around the birch. They did a good job trimming the London plane tree, but I think it would have been possible to do a little more than they did. Most important to me was the concern I had about hiring someone that knew what they were doing and would not do a hack job. They knew what they were doing, did not hack the tree, and did a better than average job. I would hire them again.

    Rick's Handyman Service
Rick Herzog, the handyman, arrived promptly on schedule. He went straight to work for 5 hours working efficiently and quickly. Rick was so dedicated he didn't even take a lunch break! He was also personable to chat with. He even showed me a few maintenance pointers around the house. His price ($45 per hour) is pretty reasonable as well. Rick has a lot of knowledge built up over the years. Rick also recommended a contractor to me for one item/task which he said the other person would be more capable than him to finish. I appreciate the honesty. I highly recommend him for anyone looking for an accomplished handyman.

    Tree Tech Services
The first team showed up and I turned on the sprinklers so they would know where they were. One guy started removing tree roots on one side of the yard. Another guy started "trimming" the tree. I went over to point out to the guy digging up the roots he was near a sprinkler, but it was too late...he'd already run over it. I worked with him on that problem. Meanwhile the other guy was "butchering" my tree. The arborist, Lew, and I had discussed verbally trimming the small dead branches and twigs, as well as the very low hanging branches. What I got was three huge limbs cut from the base of the tree that comprised most of the back side of the tree facing the street, as well as some smaller branches that made up the back of the tree. When I saw it, I was shocked and just wanted him to stop. He didn't stop right away, but I finally got him to stop. When they were carrying out the branches, they left a large scrape on my side garage door. I later called Tree Tech and set up an appt. for Lew to come out and  remove the stakes that had supported the tree when it was planted 20 years ago. He came and saw the tree and tried to console me by saying the smaller branches would grow back. I pointed out the huge limbs that had been cut and he didn't have any words for those, just that wanted to find out what team had done that. He would send out another team to finish the job including trimming the branches hanging into my neighbor's yard.
I didn't hear from Tree Tech and after 2 weeks I called them. I wanted an afternoon appointment and had to wait 2 more weeks to get one, but that was okay. I arranged the 1:00 time with my neighbor since we needed to go in her yard. The 2nd team showed up today in the morning....2 hours before their appointment time. They were insistent they couldn't work at 1:00 because it was going to be too hot, even though I argued with them about it and pointed out the time had been arranged with my neighbor..
They didn't listen to my neighbor's instructions well and her side was not cut to her wishes (she had gone back inside to work). I very closely supervised the trimming of my side. As he left he said: Sorry the first team butchered your tree. As it turned out, it was 80 degrees at 1:00 today and their work was almost exclusively in the shade where it would be even cooler. 80 degrees (less in the shade) is so hot that I had to disrupt my schedule and my neighbor's for them?
I used Tree Tech in 2014 and the men were very good and professional. I can no longer recommend them as the quality of workers and work this year was poor.

    Bell's Tree Service
They were prompt in coming out and giving me an estimate, which I found reasonable. I asked when the work could be done and I was told that afternoon if I wanted it done right away.  There was a three man crew who were very professional and knew what they were doing.  They got the job done in a timely manner and we were very pleased with the result.
Will consider them this winter to trim and prune my other trees.

    SALVADOR MURILLO
Our large backyard was in need of a major overhaul. The sprinklers didn't work, our grass had died, the large trees required hand watering, and most areas were inaccessible to our disabled family member in an electric wheelchair.  I wanted a backyard that would be low maintenance, wheelchair accessible, attractive, and  water-efficient.
After reading the landscaper reviews on Angie's List, I knew that reaching Salvador Murillo would require patient  perseverance but would be well worth the effort. I was not disappointed.  After phoning off and on for several months, I reached Salvador this past May. We set up an appointment. He arrived on time. I told him what I wanted to do and he "made it happen". Because of his busy schedule, Mr. Murillo told me he would not be able to begin our project until early July.  He started on July 2 and finished July 18.
Salvador had the sensitivity and skills to meet our unique accessibility requirements.  The large flagstone patio on the west side of our yard is under two redwood trees and replaced lots of gravel. The meandering flagstone walkway provides access to the east side of our yard. He selected drought tolerant, low maintenance plants and created an aesthetically pleasing backyard retreat.  The original project was for $8,000 but we added on an extra $1600 worth of work - including widening existing sidewalks and adding the flagstone walkway.
There were no written estimates or signed contracts, but Salvador is a man of his word and the price quoted was exactly the price charged. He was always responsive to my concerns and requests.  I found the most effective method of communicating with him was via text messaging once we had made our initial contact.
When and if I have more money for landscaping needs, I would hire him in a heartbeat!

    EDDIE MULLINS LANDSCAPING
Eddie exceeded our expectations.  The final result is outstanding.  Eddie and his crew were professional, friendly and answered questions directly.  As the job progressed, Eddie was able to suggest changes to improve the looks.  for example he suggested moving the water feature from one side of the tree to the other to make it more central to the patio and larger to better fit the scale of the large patio.
It was painful at points to see the yard in a shambles for extended periods of time.  But it all came together quickly at the end for a fantastic result.
