Lavish Gardens did a fabulous job on my front and back landscapes. Erin, the designer, truly listened to what I wanted and designed a beautiful plan. In the front, she incorporated a dry steam creek, lava rock bed, two DG pathways, accent grass with striking plants and lighting. The back has flagstone stepping stones that lead to a DG landing area, matching flagstone patio area for a couch with fire pit all surrounding a kidney shaped center grass with accent lighting. Owner Michael Cole was wonderful to work with. He texted everyday to let me know what was happening that day. Ivan and his crew were incredible. They were courteous, professional, prompt and clean. Work was done on time and I couldnt be happier with my yard. 5 stars!! Would highly recommend

Babylon Builders - Home & Landscape Contractor
I called Babylon Gardens Landscaping and spoke to Ron about getting a design. After we met his company submitted the design and a week after we had the final design. Thank you for doing what was promised.

Their work was amazing! Michael during the quote, Steve the project manager and Ivan his right hand man were so hardworking and dedicated to making our yard look like it came out of a magazine. During this extensive rainy season they kept us informed on timing and what would be coming when. We are so appreciative of the work they did for us! It is beautiful!

I thought I was the only one who had problems with Lavish. After having a meeting with the design consultant and paying to have a design created (minus the Angies List discount), the initial design was sent. We found it uninspiring and asked for another. The following one was sent and we liked it a lot. With some tweaking, we could make it our own! Eventually after several MONTHS of back and forth, we had a design that we were ready to go with and needed an estimate. Well, we never got that estimate. Been more than 2 months now and still no estimate received. We also did not receive a full scale design print out/plot that we paid for. In reading the reviews now, I see that this is not an isolated case. I don't understand how they can still have an "A" rating with such bad reviews. Defeats the purpose of choosing from Angie's List. So in the end, we paid for a design that we liked but never received the FINAL draft print to get other contractor's bids nor did we ever get any kind of an estimate from Lavish Landscaping themselves despite the payment IN FULL being made. Up to you to decide what you want to do but if you do go with them, buyer beware!

Our large backyard was in need of a major overhaul. The sprinklers didn't work, our grass had died, the large trees required hand watering, and most areas were inaccessible to our disabled family member in an electric wheelchair.  I wanted a backyard that would be low maintenance, wheelchair accessible, attractive, and  water-efficient.
After reading the landscaper reviews on Angie's List, I knew that reaching Salvador Murillo would require patient  perseverance but would be well worth the effort. I was not disappointed.  After phoning off and on for several months, I reached Salvador this past May. We set up an appointment. He arrived on time. I told him what I wanted to do and he "made it happen". Because of his busy schedule, Mr. Murillo told me he would not be able to begin our project until early July.  He started on July 2 and finished July 18.
Salvador had the sensitivity and skills to meet our unique accessibility requirements.  The large flagstone patio on the west side of our yard is under two redwood trees and replaced lots of gravel. The meandering flagstone walkway provides access to the east side of our yard. He selected drought tolerant, low maintenance plants and created an aesthetically pleasing backyard retreat.  The original project was for $8,000 but we added on an extra $1600 worth of work - including widening existing sidewalks and adding the flagstone walkway.
There were no written estimates or signed contracts, but Salvador is a man of his word and the price quoted was exactly the price charged. He was always responsive to my concerns and requests.  I found the most effective method of communicating with him was via text messaging once we had made our initial contact.
When and if I have more money for landscaping needs, I would hire him in a heartbeat!

Eddie exceeded our expectations.  The final result is outstanding.  Eddie and his crew were professional, friendly and answered questions directly.  As the job progressed, Eddie was able to suggest changes to improve the looks.  for example he suggested moving the water feature from one side of the tree to the other to make it more central to the patio and larger to better fit the scale of the large patio.
It was painful at points to see the yard in a shambles for extended periods of time.  But it all came together quickly at the end for a fantastic result.

River City Rain Sprinklers and Landscape, Inc.
All in all, RCR did a good job!    The crew was very professional, the quality of the work met our expectations, and our dialogue with the owner was, overall, pretty good.   Our job was complicated and RCR did a great job navigating the process, keeping us informed, and generally doing what was agreed upon.  The system that they installed works well and is generally performing well.  They also installed some new landscaping in front & back.  The original project was completed in August 2013 and we finished the landscape installation later that fall.
Our only complaint is that the company is not very good at follow-up servicing and communication.  Once they got our money, we definitely were at the back of the line in terms of prioritization.  The company initially told us that they would be following up periodically to make sure that the installed system was performing as agreed and that the installed plants/landscaping were setting well.   However, they never dropped by unless we repeatedly called them about an issue, which mostly concerned plants dying out and needing to be replaced under their warranty arrangement with us.   Most of the time we'd call, we'd either leave messages that didn't get returned or the office secretary would call us back to say how busy things were and that they'd get to us when they could.  However, follow up never happened unless we re-contacted them.   The last time they were out (July 2014) they finally pulled out several plants and promised to replace them, but never followed back up to replant them.   We gave up, having gotten tired of the merry go round!
I will say that the owner, Daniel, is pretty responsive if you are able to get him on his cell and he definitely knows what he's doing.  As indicated above, he and his crews do good work!  We are just frustrated that the after-project follow-up has been so poor  It leaves the impression that the company is only focused on getting paid so that it can move on to the next job....

Will and his crew were prompt, professional and efficient.  They did a great deal of work in four days.  Everyone involved was top-notch!!!!  They listened to our ideas and made useful suggestions.  All contacts were helpful and friendly. They stand by their work and are replacing some of the lawn that did not flourish. The finished project is beautiful and has received lots of compliments!  We will definitely call on them again and will recommend them to others!

Eddie was a bit backed up due to rain, but when he did get started, he listened and understood what it was we wanted, none of which was a problem for him.  He gave an estimate and that was what he charged.  Eddie was just plain super to work with.  He was flexible and knowledgeable when needed, totally had the attitude of, "Whatever you want, we'll do it."  Then he did.  This landscaping was the final step in a several year project of stone work on the house, painting and then finally landscaping.  It's now the best looking house in the neighborhood!  His last words were, "If you have any questions or problems, just call."  Thank you, Eddie and team!  We couldn't be happier.

    The Paver Company

We could not be happier with the results. Absolutely outstanding. We have had a lot of work done to our home and yard since we moved in 5 years ago. Of all the contractors and their representatives we have worked with and interviewed, the Paver Company and its owners, John and Steve, were the best in customer service, follow up, problem solving and best of all in value to cost.

For this job, we interviewed 4 different companies before selecting the Paver Company. They were the only ones that actually listened to what we wanted, provided realistic suggestions without trying to make the project bigger than it already was. Their bid was more than competitive for the same work as the other bidders. They provided a number of cost saving tips that didnt diminish the results in any way. They were open to changes, and even made some recommendations for changes as things started coming together which resulted in an even better result. The best part was that a number of the changes did not result in additional costs. The only cost increases were the result of additional work we added as the project progressed. They did not nickel and dime us to death for minor changes.

John and Steve are very professional, helpful, friendly, responsive, and great at listening and following through. Their crew are also professional , skilled and very respectful. Unlike a number of other contractors that you rarely see the person in charge or the person that actually came out and provided a bid, John and Steve both came out, looked at the proposed project, provided the bid, and then were with us throughout the entire project.

The finished product is worthy of Home and Gardensimply beautiful. One of the best things is that their service didnt stop at the end of the project. As we found minor flaws, they were very responsive and corrected any problem and never charged a penny. Even 1 and frac12; years after the project was finished, they responded immediately when we found that a few of the pavers on our stairway became loose.
