    I was in Chicago this Summer and had a water pump failure. The folks I was visiting said Eliot's was the place to go. It was late on a Friday when my car was towed in and they stayed, got it done right and I was on my way early the next morning to the Wisconsin Dells to meet up with family. Their price was fair and I had my mechanic check it when I returned home and he gave the work an A+! They took great care of me, they understood my issue and treated me like a professional. Trust this shop!

    DAN'S AUTO REPAIR OF ELK GROVE
    I went to Dan's after hearing from a family member that he is "good and trustworthy". I read several reviews and called to ask if they work on VW Beetles (as they are notoriously a pain to work on). I spoke with Jasmine who patiently answered all my questions and booked an appointment for me the following day. I met Dan, the owner, the day I went in and he went in depth what he planned to check out on the car. He called a few hours later and went over a list of things (through the diagnostic I asked him to do) and told me what needed immediate attention and what could wait. He fixed a long time problem with the headlight that the VW dealership wanted an extraordinary amount of money for and charged me VERY little (WITH a warranty). (Side note: do NOT go to the VW dealership in E.G. if you can avoid it!) When we got there about 5 to pick it up, he followed us back out because he "saw some dirt" on it that he wanted to clean up -we brought it in that way, but he didn't want to return it like that:) So he used wipes to clean the car until it was shiny and clean of the small smudges we had put there. Great customer service and seemingly sound, fair, reasonable advice to keep our car running well. I will absolutely return. I definitely recommend Dan's Auto Repair.

    After confirming with the car dealer, I usually reach out to Dan to get the same job done for less $. Repairs are always done right the first time and never had to return for same repair. Downside is his Saturday���s get booked in advance. I recommend trying Dan���s Auto Repair for yourself.

    I keep my car serviced by the dealer, and I do that every 5,000 miles. Now for just a regular general oil change and everything, they like you to make an appointment. They're pretty right on if you have an appointment like at 7:30 in the morning, between 7:30 and 7:45, there's someone there to take your information and they take you into the office and take down the information about what you're gonna have done. Sometimes if you have a coupon then they discount what the service is. They've got a good program, a food program. You bring in a couple of cans of food and then they give you a flat rate for your oil change and stuff like that, and so forth. They're committed to helping the community and it also helps you a little bit in terms of maybe knocking off $5 to $10 off your service. They're pretty much right on with the time, and then if you're waiting, they will come and tell you if there's anything significant that they find; that you need to have your belts or your hoses or something like that. They do a 21 or 15 inspection. I have them do everything with my car with the exception of the tire rotation. I actually bypass a couple of Toyota dealerships to go to Maita. I've been going to them since 1992. For me, one of the reasons why I go is not only because of the service, but they employ young people, especially when it's during the school year and I see a lot of kids of color that are working there as young people, and they've got women. They may have them as mechanics, I don't know, but they've certainly got women as the front line people that are taking your information, so your team leader that you're working with and I think that's really good. They've got women sometimes that are pregnant women, on the front line and stuff like that, so they're really understanding about what the commitment it to having people working. And they also don't have a lot of turnover, so that tells you that either people are happy with them or their wages or good or whatever, etc. Some people that have been there - I've been going since '92 and those people were there before I started going. And they have promoted many of them that started off as these young kids that were putting the plastic on the seat and the paper on the floor so that when the mechanic got in your car they wouldn't soil it. They've now moved into the business office and they're doing different things and stuff like that. On price an A, and I hesitate to say that because as women, we just assume that whatever price they tell us is a fair price. But I had an incident the last time I had the car in there. They had it for several hours and then by the time they called me to tell me that I had something major, I had wasted - they'll give you a loaner car if they're gonna do major work and everything - but I could have come home or done other kinds of things and so I was a little irate. While I was there, I called the Toyota place in another location, which is about 23 miles away from the Maita place, to find out if they had this water pump or something like that, and they had to order it. Whatever was wrong, they had to order it and so I asked them for the price and so they gave me a price. So when I talked to the person that I was working with I said they have to order it so I might as well leave the car with you and let you order the part; and by the way, they are $30 cheaper in terms of what the retail price of the product is, or the equipment. And he knocked that $30 off without batting an eye and gave me a loaner car. I really was rather somewhat surprised because I had never exercised that before. I'm just one of hundreds of customers that they've got, but they certainly did make it right. They send out a survey and so when they sent me the survey I documented the incident and how long it took before they told me about what the major problem was, and blah, blah, blah, and that they gave me a loaner car and they discounted it to match the price of the product that another dealer had. For quality, I would not have been going back all these years if I did not feel that they were ethical and professional. They were very responsive. For punctuality, if you drop in you might not get that same measure of service right away as if you have an appointment, but they never turn anyone away. I am an observer of their relationships with other people. They built this new building and they've got wi-fi and they've got comfortable seats and they give your free coffee and they've got a little snack bar, so they really are accommodating to their public. In the beginning, they only used to give you a ride one-way, but now they'll actually pick you up and bring you back to pick up your car. They are really looking at keeping their customers. Their punctuality for me has been great. It wasn't the water pump; when I went in I told them that my latch was broken on my trunk, and so for me to tell them it was broken and it took them 2 - 3 hours to determine that - it was very obvious it was broken when you saw the trunk bobbing up and down. So that was where the rubber hit the road on that incident. But other than that, that's the first time I've ever had that kind of incident. So they've got an A on everything.

They did not, they installed inferior (FYG) Chinese made windshield that has terrible reviews online. Which is exactly what I did not want. Now they refuse to do anything about it and the mangement will not answer my phone calls. I could have got the windshield replaced considerably cheaper elsewhere but I was willing to pay more for Pilkington glass. Classic bait and switch.     So far its a good job. He has been doing a good job every since we have been here. The price is good. They don't over price. Quality is very good. We have been going there ever since. They are very responsive. Right away. When I go there, they get you in. Its twenty to thirty minutes away. We wait for the car, and they do it right away. He is very professional guy. He is an old guy, and he knows what he is doing. We have been using them all the time.

    This place is great. We've been going here for quite a few years now and am so grateful for them. They've always given us solid advice and help - and always in a timely efficient time frame. Recently they even saved us at least $2,000.00. We took our car to a local dealership to get some help with a particular problem and they gave us a "veritable" laundry list of "serious issues" that needed to be dealt with (brake fluid, bearing/ hub assembly, brakes pads, brake vacuum pump leak....) and they'd fix it all for the low, low price of about $2,445.00(++). We took it to the guys at E.G. Tire Pros to get a second opinion and so glad we did. No leak found at all ($1700) brake fluid level fine -same with brake pads ($340). The bolt in question for the hub assembly unit wasn't as bad as originally told, but did have some issues so we did change that out -for $200 instead of $400. The guys in the front (Dave and Dustin, I think) are always very helpful and patient. Like I said.... these guys are great.
