Both Curtis and Tanya were very friendly and helpful. Curtis completed 6 week rat proofing process, checking traps weekly until all rodents were caught. He also cleaned up rodent droppings & sanitized. Also removed damaged insulation in attic & crawl space. Replaced with new insulation in attic. With 1 year warranty. Completion date 5/6/19.

    Leading Edge Pest Management
The inspector showed up on time and did the inspection. This was a limited termite inspection. This company treated our house for termites about 10 years ago. No termites were found on this inspection. This company is now Aantex Pest Control.

    All N One Pest Eliminators
The technician, Josh (I believe?), was very nice and professional. It was a pleasant experience and he even gave me some extra traps to use if needed. He even called a few days later to check to see if we'd seen any activity. Luckily, the answer was no :)

    All N One Pest Eliminators
They came out, looked around, and set traps where appropriate. The service was okay. I made the appointment a couple of days after I purchased the Big Deal. I had to cancel it because I couldn?t afford the whole thing. They wanted $650 up front to do the job thoroughly. We ended up cancelling again, because we had found another method, and the lady became angry with me. She was very disgruntled.

It was probably more my fault than anybody?s because I kind of pushed them off. I?m sure they are good for other things. They just didn?t suit us, and I couldn?t afford it anyway. We found another way dealing with the problem.

    Critter Control of Oakland
Unbeknownst to us, the pigeon had fallen down the pillar and was stuck at the bottom.  The technician removed the pigeon and installed flashing to prevent further roosting/nesting.  He arrived when promised (2 hour window).  Not only did he remove the pigeon, he cleaned up the feathers and excrement!  I discovered that when I went out to clean up after he left.  I've used Critter Control in the past, for a rat issue as well.  Each time, they are timely, professional and informative.

    Critter Control of Oakland
Catching wild animals knowing they will be euthanized is not easy.  Critter Control does a good job.  My one criticism is that on a couple of days the trapped animals were not picked up until late in the afternoon.  Just seemed cruel.

    The Honey Ladies
Dealing with the Honey Ladies was a breeze from start to finish. Yellow jackets had built a nest inside a hole (made by gophers) in my front lawn. A couple of weeks earlier, I had another company come and "treat" the nest with pesticides, without success. I reached Wendy (company owner) directly by phone. She was very efficient and kind in listening to me describe my situation and in scheduling a time to come. She came the very next morning! Also, on the phone she told me the price (which the other company I'd had come had refused to do) and she stuck with it.
When she came to my property, she got suited up to protect herself from stings (in a bee suit). She vacuumed out the yellow jackets alive, to be released later in a distant location. Then she dug up the nest, removing it along with the bees inside. No pesticides, no mess. Just a hole that I later closed up, a couple of days afterwards. She was very careful in the way she removed the lawn around the nest hole, so that I was able to replace it easily on top after I filled the hole in.
She followed up by email to check on how things were progressing (whether the bees were back), and answered some follow-up questions that I had. She had said she would return at no charge if the insects continued to create a problem, but it's been two weeks and the yellow jackets are gone! I would absolutely recommend The Honey Ladies to anyone with a bee or wasp problem.

Terminix - Pleasanton -Termite & Pest Control
My wife and I bought a fixer in El Sobrante and we hired terminix to do some work to it. Tenting, spraying, removal of insulation, a variety of things. The sales man spent 4 hours wandering around our house and gave us a bid. We agreed and signed the contract. We were' told that as each phase was completed that we would be billed accordingly. 1 week before any work had started they billed my wifes credit card for the entire job, $6900. This was my first clue about they function as a company. Once this was straightend out they began work on removing the attic insulation. Termix sub-contracted this work out to Western Inssulation a division of Massco (who is also the insulation sub for Home Depot). They showed up with no ladder, dust masks, flashlights, garbage bags, and most importantlly no vacume truck. this is important because we had blown in insulation. After spending the first half the day finding a vacume truck they went in the attic and apprently did nothing for the rest of the day. At the end of the day they told me that thery were done. I went into the attic to see all of the insulation was still there, and there was now a 10 sq. ft. hole in my ceiling. I took pictures and e-mailed them to my salesman. They came back the next day and removed about 50% of the insulation and told me they were done again. I then told my salesman to send a different crew. The next day the new crew arrived and they were more helpful but still couldn't finish in 1 day, or even the next day. On the 5th day they just stopped working, and that as when a repersentative for massco called my wife and said he would need more money in order to finish. This is terminix's sub who have no contract with. I simultaniuoslly got a call from the salesman tealing me the same thing, he said the bid had got "messed up" and he only bid my house at 800 sq. ft. It's 1700 sq. ft. and he spent 4 hours in my house making his bid. Stopping work and demanding more money to finish on a bid is illegal. A bid is a bid. Also during this time terminix sprayed around the extirior of the house for earth dwelling termites ahead of schedual. Which would have been great except that I had hired a diffferent company to remove all the junk and overgrown bushes etc. After trying to explain over the phone that they had effectively kept the dump from having termites but the ground under the junk still needed to be treated, I had to have him come back and ask him face to face "did my yard look like this when you sprayed or was there junk everywhere?" After seeing my point he resprayed. At this point we fired terminix and hired Orkin to tent our house. That is when the salesman e-mailed my wife saying that he was concerned for his health and worried that he might have been expossed to something in my house. While I will agree with him that using parlite in a residiential application (typically only used as insulation in commercial applications) is strange it is harmless. It labeled as a nussiance dust and can not harm you. It used in water filtrartion , beer and wine making, packaging for frozen meats, insulation, in garden soil and a variety of other things. We are all exposed to parlite on a daily basis. We forward these e-mails to the corporate office and they then agreed to come back and finish the job for the price they bid. They came back and finished removing the insulation, it took 2 more days. This was supossed to take 1 day. But they still have not repaired my ceiling or re-insulated my house. Everything that they did correctly they have been paid for but we are withholding the insulation portion of the bill untill they finish the job. This has been going on for 4 months. And now they have taken us to collections over this bill. Terminix is the sleaziest company I have ever delt with. I wouldn't recomend them to anyone. Below are e-mails back and forth between my wife and the salesman. Decide for yourself what he is trying to say.
Nesbitt, Derrick Feb 20 to me Can you at least tell me what is the substance in your Attic ? David, must know he is a contractor maybe I can talk to the realtor who sold you the home ,and take a look at the original structural real estate inspection report at the time of sale. I know some one can help with the chemical in the Attic identification ?   I am very concern for my health , and would appreciate your corporation.   Thank you,
Feb 20 to Derrick Are you saying that if you have some sort of heath issue from your exposure to the insulation that you would sue us?
Nesbitt, Derrick Feb 21 to me No  I hope that is  clear but I need to now what that is in the Attic. I do think you and David knows more than what your willing to tell me about this hole process , because it just does not add up  as it relates to me being on your property unless something  that is deliberate  concealed. Nicolette, is their a report that you are aware of that has anything to do with the attic ,or inspection of the attic. I do have a right to know if I was exposed to  a substance that can cause harm to me. The more I reflect back to all conversations and lack of availability  makes me believe that I should be told what was in the Attic.   The Realtor that sold the home is the key to how one can find the information required. Nicolette  Feb 21 to Derrick no, that was not clear to me. To me it seemed like a veiled threat of retaliation via lawsuit from possible exposure to insulation. To me it seemed like you were adding blackmail onto the list of illegal activities you have done in the past week towards us. The extortion didn't work and you were trying another tact. That's what it seems like to me.  I find it odd that you are so concerned about your health and yet have never mentioned the guys working for masco that actually went into the attic for hours over several days and removed it. I saw you before you went up a ladder, looked around the attic for a minute and came back down the ladder. You even were wearing full protective gear: full protective tyvek suit with hood, a mask, goggles, gloves; you even had booties on.  So I can't imagine how you would have been exposed to anything.  We got an insulation expert to look at it and give us new bids for the job; he told us what it was.  I am surprised that you didn't know what it was- this is what you do for a living.  Dave is a carpenter; he has never done insulation work before, nor has he done plumbing or electrical work. He is a specialist in carpentry. That is why i am offended that you are now saying that we knew what it was and concealed that information from you deliberately. Again, it seems to be a veiled threat of retaliation.  However, for the Masco workers benefit, I will be happy to tell you what the insulation is: pearlite, a completely harmless insulation that is still being used today. Its actually used in food packing, water filtration, as well as insulation. Google it; maybe you'll learn more about insulation.   I appreciate you sending me this attempted blackmail via email so i can easily forward it to your corporate office with everything else i have written them and all the photos I have to document this entire travesty.
Nesbitt, Derrick Feb 21 to me from the beginning I wish you guys the best of luck with your home

    Day & Night Pest Control
We have been using them for years. They are very good. They are excellent, as I said they come, spray on a quarterly basis and if we have a little problem because of whatever reason maybe rain or something like that, they come over and spray at no extra cost. In terms of price, I do not think I will be able to price it to anything. It seems reasonable to me but I have no basis for comparision. Quality of work is fine. Responsiveness is very good. In terms of punctuality, they call and arrange an appointment to come to do the quarterly work and it's never a problem. They are very good in terms of professionalism. They always knock and they introduce themselves on basis of different person, that's very good. We have been using them continuoulsy for many years now and would continue to use their services again in the future.
