  • I have a fairly rare birth defect in my lumbar spine which has been managed very well through chiropractic care. I've been active and an athlete all of my life, and my back has hardly been a problem since it was diagnosed and initially treated over thirty years ago.
I saw Dr. Newlon three times. The first appointment went well and I left feeling good, and my shoulder felt much better. Two days after my second appointment, however, i began experiencing muscle spasms in my right glute. I went for the third appointment and told Dr. Newlon about the pain; she said something about the body "unraveling" as  the layers of trauma (I'm paraphrasing here)  are revealed.
After the third visit, the pain in  my glute became so severe that I couldn't walk. I am a tennis player, and tennis was  out of the question.  Ironically, my shoulder hasn't felt as good as it felt then in years. I went to my chiropractor and with a few adjustments, my back is now stabilizing. The theory is that Dr. Newlon either pushed the unstable vertebrae forward or (my theory), the treatment was so, um, energetic that it irritated the vertebrae in the lumbar spine. Regardless, I cancelled my subsequent appointments.
During my last chiropractor visit, the doctor asked me if my clavicle hurt. I said it did, and he did an adjustment on it that ended up making the clavicle worse. Frustration hardly describes what I was/am  feeling, and I called Dr. Newlon to see if she'd work on my shoulder for me since the previous shoulder treatments were so successful.
So here's the rub (pardon the play on words): Dr. Newlon refused to work on my shoulder, claiming that she worked on the whole body, that everything is interconnected, and that she couldn't work on just one body part regardless of the fact that I have a very sensitive, touchy, and troublesome lumbar spine. I told her she could work on any part of my body she wanted, but that I didn't want my lumbar spine touched.
As I mentioned, when we initially met, I was very clear as to why I was there. If she had told me that I was in for multiple treatments to unravel all the past accidents and trauma my body had experienced, I'd have left. I was there for my shoulder, nothing more, and I find her refusal to continue to treat me unprofessional. Professional people don't abandon their patients. So I've spent nearly $700 in her office (which I don't have, really) and I'm left with . . . an achy shoulder, a sore back, three weeks out of my life and off the tennis court.
I think Dr. Newlon is a talented, caring professional, but I strongly feel she has her own agenda. I also feel she is very inflexible pursues her own intentions and interests, regardless of the intentions or wishes of her patients. I also feel mislead. I was told at the beginning I'd probably need about three treatments. We know how that  turned out.

  • Having a great dentist is a health plus! I have had very unpleasant dental experiences in the past and was quite hesitant to find a new dentist. A friend recommended her and I have to admit, I am very satisfied with my dentist. I have had a lot of work over the last 3 years and my teeth have improved considerably and now am able to maintain the good work. She is so encouraging about self-care and that has made a big difference. I have since recommended many of my friends and they have changed dentists. She is very caring and calming , and makes going to the dentist something to look forward to!

  • I have used them for a long time, probably about 30 years. All the services are under one roof and they are responsive. They emphasize preventive care. I have had three surgeries, including a knee replacement and I did not have to worry about costs. When surgery was necessary they performed it. When I email any of my doctors including my specialists and primary care doctor I get detailed and very prompt replies. If I have questions either I email my doctor or I call an advice nurse, which is always good, so I really like their system and their general responsiveness. Customers have to be knowledgeable so if they feel uncomfortable about something, want to switch doctors or see a specialist they just have to be assertive. Kaiser works with them.

  • I was looking for a new primary care physician a couple of years ago. After some research I made an apt. With Dr. Shute. I did not like her at all! She didn't take me seriously. It felt like she dismissed my fears and concerns and told me to take Tylenol. As someone who is getting older having new symptoms or experiencing new aches and pains can be frightening. Instead of helping me through it or educating me, providing me solutions it felt like she couldn't wait to get rid of me. She wasn't compassionate at all.

  • After so long without dental care, I had built up quite a lot of anxiety about the whole process. The amazing people ant Benicia Family Dentistry somehow immediately put me at ease. Everyone there is very professional and very charming, they made sure my concerns were being addressed and they made really sure I was comfortable the whole time.
Only after visiting this practice do I realize how poorly I had been treated by other dentists in the past. My anxiety has vanished and I'm actually looking forward to my next appointment!

  • He has a very comfortable office, and good people that work for him. He has a very good reputation in the community, and he does good work. He's a good man, and I trust his knowledge, background, and experience.

  • He is very friendly and professional. My daughter is getting braces in two phases and the first phase is complete without any issues other than couple broken bands here and there, but they fixed it in a reasonable amount of time.

  • I was a member for about 5 years. They were extremely difficult with their billing practices. I am a military reservist and I had prepaid for 2 years. When I was called to active duty overseas for a year, they refused to pause it. They were not willing to pause it or do anything like that; they just said too bad, so sad. Out of all the service companies I work with, they were the only ones who were not willing to work with me on that, not even a little. They were not willing to talk to me. The gym itself was clean but they didn't have any towels available a lot of time. They did have plenty of equipment.

  • I did not have a very good experience. She was very rushed. I had to ask her to do some of he regular procedures. She talked very fast and was not being conscientious. She was not very helpful. I did not enjoy her care at all.

  • She is very good. She has a good bedside manner and attended to my concerns. She was able to give me good instructions about what to do and what to do if I needed follow-up. I felt like she was really paying attention to me during my visit.
