  • I was quoted $49.95 to reprogram the garage door remote. Nothing else was said about labor charges. My appointment was originally 2-4 PM. I rushed home and called to make sure I didn't miss them, but they said appointment was 3-5 PM. He pushed one button, and said that it was working already. He charged me $89.00 for labor after just pushing one button. I think it was outrageous. They said the discount didn't count for labor. They never told me anything about labor charges.

  • My garage door stopped working on Saturday night. Contra Costa Doors originally installed the garage door in 2003, and it has worked very well for the last eleven years.
    I left a message with Contra Costa Doors on Saturday night to call me Monday to schedule an appointment. Rodger of Contra Cost Doors called me at 8:00 AM Monday and said a technician would come to the house about 10:00 AM. The technician arrived early, quickly diagnosed the problem, and replaced the springs of the door in about 40 minutes.

  • I would not recommend this company based on the service I received.  The purchase agreement listed 7 items that was included in this tune-up and roller replacement. I told the serviceman that it was making a lot of noise when opening and closing the door.
    He quickly indicated that all he was there for is to replace the rollers and nothing else. I didn't argue the point since  he was emphatic  that  was all he was going to do. He made a pitch for an upgrade in the roller replacement which I expected to happen.
    And I did choose to upgrade and paid extra for that.  I have to hope that  the rollers I upgraded to were the ones actually installed as they look very similar to the grade below that. Although he was not discourteous he was defensive when I said I actually wanted to see the ones being installed.  He said he showed the sample to me and assured me that they were the ones I wanted and said "We are an honest company". ( You cannot tell the difference between the two rollers by sight  but if you turn each by hand there is a difference.)    After I paid him the difference, he thanked  me and proceeded to leave. I asked if he was going to pick up the old rollers that laid on the ground. He said that he didn't want them and I could keep them.  I told him where the trash was and he could discard them.  I've never any service where they didn't pick up after themselves or at least make an attempt. He also told me that he lubricated the door as a courtesy.  That  should have been done as part of the purchase agreement.
    The only positive is that he was punctual and completed the roller replacements in a timely fashiony, but that was it.

  • The service was fine. It was very professional and is now working with no problems. I would use their services again. They quoted me over the phone and the price was just as they said it would be. The man was on time and very professional. I was very satisfied.

  • The installer came when expected and did the work in the amount of time he said it would take. He did a good job of explaining to me how it worked, how to maintain the system to keep it functioning well, and what warranty I had. He made a suggestion about replacing part of the opening mechanism (coils) that were old but still functional. I declined but appreciated that he had called to my attention a part that could break. I was able to get an appointment very quickly when I called this company.
