    The technician explained well and gave us choices of different thermostats. And he promptly set up the follow up appointment for us. So overall good except I found some black duct tape on my bathroom door and stucco scattered on my bathroom and bedroom floor which had never happened before. I guess those were falling from the attic when the technician climbed up there. Not a big deal, just need to clean it up.

    Bought duct cleaning service as we were moving into a new place, and was exactly what we needed. Got ducts and returns cleaned before the move in, and Shawn provided great advisement on what we will need to get the HVAC system into top performance after the home improvements we are planning. Definitely appreciated the ease of scheduling, the straightforward communication on what was included versus advised, and not feeling like you were being "sold". Great go to for sure.

    The entire experience was extremely positive from the initial call to the final day of installation. Ted explained the entire process in detail when he came to give us a bid. I had 3 other bids which were comparable price wise but got a complete picture of the scope of the project from JW. I also discovered JW was finishing an installation 4 blocks from my home & after speaking with the homeowners I was convinced JW was the way to go.

    Shawn, Ignacio, Ramon & Jessie arrived on time each day & cleaned up before leaving.  Couldn't have been happier with the crew, they had great attitudes & work ethics you don't see very often anymore.  They stayed on our job & completed it before going to another job. They went out of their way to be sure we were happy as they went along.  My husband is disabled & they were very careful not lay tools, etc. around that he could trip on. They took great care to cover my new wood floors which I REALLY appreciated. I found JW Heating on Angie's List & read numerous positive reviews which I agree with. I would DEFINITELY recommend JW Heating & Air (family run)  to anyone needing this type of service.  This was a huge investment for us & we appreciate them making it run very smoothly.

    Tim recommended that Oscar, his wiring troubleshooter, come out. Oscar arrived on time and was very professional in investigating the possible causes.  He eventually found that a fuse had blown on the circuit board inside of the furnace which prevented the power from getting from there to the thermostat.  I was actually trying to run an online presentation along with a conference call from home during this time and Oscar was able to work very independently with very few whispered directions from me on where things were located.  Everything was very reasonably priced, too...less than I expected.  I was very happy and would definitely recommend Tim's Heating and A/C.

    The installation went great and I am a very satisfied customer!  
    JW's quote was not the cheapest nor the most expensive I obtained.  I selected JW based on their overall professionalism and product knowledge.
    To begin with, I have an older home and there had never been a modern forced-air system installed.  I elected to do the install during my whole-house remodel but did so somewhat on-the-fly, which required some improvisation to accomplish.  JW was able to assess the situation, then performed load calculations and gave me several options to chose from - all of which provided flexibility for future expansion if I chose to add-onto my home in the future.  None of the other bids provided the load calculations, so to start with I found that very professional and felt much better about the sizing of the system.
    A/C units are not all the same and JW discussed the options without presenting a bias.  I chose a full Lennox system and was able to use the awesome Lennox "iComfort" thermostat system which provides whole-house control and access via the internet, with programmable seasonal and daily features.  JW also helped fine-tune the system by adjusting the CFM delivered to each room, and the sequential operation of the variable speed system.  The installation and the system all work together very nicely and have performed excellent!
    I had one issue develop during the install which had to do with providing equipment access by code.  This required some minor modifications to the roof supports and attic access that were easily performed and worked great.  I am very happy I did that as it improved the entire installation.  This was a portion of the installation that JW did not perform, but their input was essential in determining the optimal approach.
    Overall I am very satisfied and feel I received a good value for the service - and will continue using JW in the future to assist with any issues that may arise with my system.

    My experience with Ron (co-owner) and his team was fantastic. It began with Ron visiting my home and thoroughly inspecting the existing system that I had at the time. Ron made the necessary calculations and provided me a variety of options, each of which he explained at a level that made sense to me (I am not a heating-A/C expert). He was clearly more knowledgeable about creating efficient zoned heating than the others I interviewed for the job, and his cost was reasonable. It took two days to install the system, just as he predicted, and the cost was exactly as he had bid it. Mike (co-owner) headed the installation team and was fantastic. The team arrived on time and great care was taken to protect my carpets, walls, etc. There was no subcontracting of any of the work. The installation team also included Matt (Ron?s son) and Jay. Mike made sure that I understood how to use the wireless digital controls and answered all of my questions. I also appreciated the follow-up calls that I received, checking to ensure that I was content with everything, which I certainly was (and am).

    While I am two years late in writing this review, it has given me two years to experience the system they installed and report here that it has performed flawlessly. Before the system was installed, the main floor was always 3-5 degrees cooler than the top floor. Now both floors are efficiently maintained at the same temperature (they are on different zones and so have individual controls). In addition, my daughter?s room is on a zone by itself, which allows her to independently control the room temperature with her own wireless digital thermostat. Her room is not large and I have noticed no appreciable gas cost increase due to her keeping the room very warm all year round. The heater, combined with the Harmony Zoning System, is automatically used in a very intelligent/efficient manner. In addition, it is a much quieter heater than I had previously. Lastly, the wireless digital thermostats are simple to use but powerful in the flexibility they provide.

    In summary, Westside Heating & A/C are consummate professionals who provide phenomenal service at a reasonable cost. If you want a zoned system that efficiently maintains your entire home at a uniform temperature, or wildly different if you so choose, I highly recommend that you look no further, Ron and his team are the answer.

    They were awesome! They were so clean and professional. The crew could not have been nicer. I just wish I knew how to use the controls a little better. There was a price issue. We almost closed the deal and then I canceled it. There was no hassle, it was just that I had buyer's regret and I wanted to get a couple of other estimates. The owner came out and literally lowered the price. I was just happy all the way around. He said, "If you ever have a problem, you call me personally. Here is my cellphone number. Here is everything to get ahold of me." That made a huge impression. They did the work and it was actually kind of overkill but it was a fabulous job. I had a difference of opinion where I wanted one vent and I'm very happy with the place it was put. It is a huge unit and works beautifully. They were very clean and wore booties in the house. It was great!

    The heater in our condo was recalled many years ago and when it came on, it didn't always heat. No one would fix that part of the unit because of the recall (understandably) and the cost of replacing a heating unit is costly. I got one quote from another company and thought I better get another. JW gave me a couple of different quotes which I really appreciated. The other company just gave me one quote and it matched JW's highest quote. JW was very communicative and prompt. I would definitely recommend them and use them again (hopefully, I won't need to).

    IWAI tech came, did NOTHING, claimed he didn't have a ladder (although a ladder was seen on his truck), told our tenant she would have to reschedule for maintenance.  I want my money returned -- $69.00 paid to Angie's List.  I WOULD NEVER (EVER) PRE-PAY FOR A SERVICE AGAIN THROUGH ANGIE OR ANYONE ELSE.

    I have always been skeptical and weary of hiring HVAC contractors because of a bad experience I had with my first home. Not any more. As of now I have someone in my address book that I have the confidence to reuse and to recommend to friends and family. That person is Ron from Westside Heating & Air.
    I got estimates from five HVAC companies (technically four, Costco was very difficult to arrange an estimate appointment with, so we never actually met up). My biggest concern was whether or not I could communicate comfortably with the contractor. The bigger companies send a sales person. They are typically knowledgable, but seem unconcerned about the existing situation. No matter how many times I wanted to show or discuss the problems I wanted to solve, they would just show me the price list and say it would solve everything. I wasn't looking for a McDonald's meal here, I wanted gourmet! As I began to lose hope, I met with a local HVAC contractor. His claims of busyness were impressive, but what I liked the most was his interest in the current installation. He and I talked at length about efficiency options and zoning and even moving the unit in the attic. He did what the other larger companies did not do. He walked around the house and wanted to solve the problems. The sticking point was that he was a lone contractor who did not have a steady crew. I don't like that idea. He also gave me no impression that he would actually be there during the installation. His quote was the least expensive, but It was really unclear in the estimate what he would actually be doing (red flag).
    During this process I signed up for Angie's list. I wanted to see if I could have more luck with suggestions rather than using the yellow pages. That is where I found Ron. Our meeting was very similar to the other local contractor. Ron was very concerned about solving the current heating problems and was also a proponent of moving the unit into the large attic space. He was also the only contractor to go in the attic and inspect the existing ductwork. because of this we discovered that much of the ductwork was leaking, uninsulated, or just plain undersized for what the house needed. I felt very comfortable with Ron and because of this I was able to pick his brain about the options that were available to me. The surprising thing was that Ron's estimate was not the most expensive of the lot, and his estimate included new ductwork, zoning, and moving to the attic. These three items were either not available with the other estimates or added up to $5000 to the price (moving to the attic). Hopefully Ron doesn't read this, he might think he charged me too little. His estimate fell right in the middle of the estimates I received, but he was doing what I wanted him to do. That was it, getting what I wanted, the right price, a contractor I felt comfortable working with, SOLD.
    OK, let me try to make this long story shorter. After sending Ron a deposit we came up with a schedule for installation. To save money I opted to do some of the prep work myself (220v electrical feed to condenser unit, moving the attic access from a bedroom to the hallway (code requirement), running 110v furnace power to attic, and a couple odds and ends). Ron and I connected and he drove me downtown (El Segundo) to apply for the permit. We had to determine where the condenser unit would go and the city had to approve. Ron got the permit and the next Monday he and his crew started. Now this point can't be brushed under the carpet. Ron's crew is one of the main reasons I hired him. It consists of Ron, his partner Mike, and Ron's son. He uses the same crew all of the time, and for obvious reasons they know each other and work well together. My father and father-in-law were integral in helping because I was working during the install. They were there to supervise and answer questions. Both of these men are notoriously difficult to please. They both admitted that they were impressed with the work being done. My father-in-law stated that he wished he had used Ron for his system installation. That put a smile on my face.
    The job was finished and Ron and I scheduled the final inspection. A sign-off with several complimentary statements from the inspector made the whole process a pleasure. One of the benefits to having Ron on my side (and a contractor should be a teammate not an opponent) was his ability to befriend everybody. Having him call the local inspectors and connect with them on a personal level make the whole process very smooth. He makes everybody happy to work with him.
    Most importantly, though, my house has never felt more comfortable. This is one project that I can cross off the list and know that I have no regrets.
