Does a Painting Estimate Really Matter?

House Painting reviews in El Segundo

    CertaPro Painters of Palos Verdes
The exterior painting went well, but everything fell apart on the interior job. The crew would disappear with the job half done. The account exec would complain about my general contractor, but refused to call me or call my general contractor when any conflicts occurred. The account exec refused to fix areas where a poor job had been done. Days would go by with my phone calls and emails unanswered. The painting crew disappeared again last Tuesday and today (Friday) I just got an invoice for the whole job. This company has serious communication issues. I would not hire them again even if they paid me.

I wish I could give Mitigation 2 separate reviews. The actual work performed by them and or subcontractors was fine. They came out quicklyand started right away. Only complaint was towards the end of the project, they told me a finish date then disappeared for a few weeks until finally coming back (not by the date).
BUT, the people that ran the business were a nightmare. They were rude and communication was awful within the company.
One of the main guys, who I believe was an owner, was so rude to my insurance agent (a very nice and helpful person) that she hung up on him. Another time he called me and tried to insist that I pressure my insurance company to speed up payment, not knowing that his own company hadn't even submitted an estimate or bill to them. He didn't even know what was going on in his office! When I confronted him, both times this man "apologised" by mumbling he was tired and under the pressure of being so busy. The estimating people at Mitigation were also pretty dodgy about the estimate. I corrected some obvious inflations.

It went great. ?I felt I got a good deal and great service. ?The owner is very knowledgeable about paint and conditions. ?He knows his product and his crews. ?Although I was initially focused on higher end materials, Scott advised a lower cost alternative which fully met my expectations. ?Duration Paint handled my requests for flexible scheduling, was friendly, prompt and efficient. ?I think Duration can handle big or small jobs and meet the requirements in a cost effective manner.

I chose the wrong color and he had to repaint the house again at my expense. They did a great job! There was a crew that came out to do the painting. What stood out was his calmness and his approach. He said, "Yes, we can do it" and I said, "I'm a really difficult to work for at times" because I'm really specific. I'm not really mean or anything like that. I gave him coffee and stuff but when I say I want something done specifically that is exactly what I needed because I know how to do some of these things, I just can't do them, I don't have the time. I said, "Tell me how you prep this. I want it scraped, I want it sanded, I want it prepped. As far as undercoating I need putty and stuff" and he goes, "Yes. We do that" I said, "I don't want these plants trampled. I understand things may get snapped or broken" and they did. It was a great price. The price was very fair. He used great products. I even got to go to the store. He let me buy at their cost because I had special things that I wanted for a color. They just really worked with me. They had to redo my front door four times. They would always call which I really appreciate. If you can't get here just call me. I just want to know your timeframe so that I can work with you. They did return my call and I didn't have to keep calling. The crew was really nice, they were clean. They were very respectful. They really knew how to handle themselves.

Danny came out and gave us a quote that was fair and reasonable, and we scheduled work convenient to our schedule. We were overdue on work so had flaking and wear and tear on wood. Even so, Bobby and his crew did stellar work on this job. The house after the pressure wash alone looked like a fresh coat of paint. Once the trim work was restored, the house suddenly looks new again. Danny knew just the right color I was looking for, too. So thrilled with work, they are currently working on painting and two bathrooms that had significant wall issues. Would highly recommend One Way Paint - you will love working with Danny, Barbara and their crew!

I am thrilled with the results and so very impressed by the workmanship, professionalism and honesty of this contractor and crew. One Way is the best contractor I have ever worked with. Also liked Danny's "can do" and enthusiastic attitude. My 63 year old house needed alot of prep work to repair peeling from previous inferior paint jobs..  Raciel, Juan and Casey did an outstanding job, always aiming to please and do the very best they could.  Raciel, the painter, is a perfectionist and his work is artistry. His stucco work was outstanding.  As the team lead, he made sure that no detail was left undone.  They arrived on-time each day and cleaned up the area each night.  Initially, you might think that the estimate is high compared to others, but considering the level of detail and expertise it is more than worth the cost.  I wanted superior workmanship and I got it.  You won't be disappointed in the services.

They're absolutely wonderful in every way. The price was cheap. One of the things I really appreciated about them was they pay us, workers were living wage. The workers were very good, and very personable. The owner was quite conscientious. I just don't have anything bad to say about them. I would use them again; I plan to do upstairs in the near future, and I wouldn't even get bids from anybody else, I don't need to.

    Marc Johnston Construction Services
All work completed in one day. Marc was onsite from 8:30 until 5:00. Cleared up everything and left everything clean.  One small issue on the new gate was found the next day, unable to close probably due to the wood swelling overnight.  Once we contacted Marc, he returned next day and made the necessary adjustments.

This is the second time I have used One Way and I could not be more pleased once again.  Very professional crew that show up on time and are very careful with their set-up, prep and clean-up each day and at the end of the job.  I only had four very minor "punch list" corrections at the end of the project.  One window was scratched during the painting or window washing activity and the Owner, Danny, recommended a local glass repair shop which replaced the damaged glass and One Way paid for it in its entirety.  Very honest company. Their prices are not the cheapest in town but for the quality and attention to detail one gets I think they are worth it. I have recommended them many times to friends and neighbors and will continue to do so.

    1. Interior ($9000): The job went very well. Danny was willing to come and provide me with several samples painted on the walls, so that I could get the exact right shade. Danny's workmen are craftsmen and did a meticulous job of repairing, plastering, and painting. All the windows were taped up tightly. They even washed them when they were done, which really helped me to appreciate the work.
    2. Exterior ($5000): This job too went very well. The work took longer than expected due to weather and the poor condition of the stucco. They spent over 4 days just on the prep. But that was fine with me. I wanted a prime job that wasn't rushed and that's what I got.
The house looks beautiful inside and out. I am very pleased with the results. I can't think how this work could have been better.
