    Sakura Appliance Repair
While I had a slight snag with the scheduling of the repair (due to a delay in receiving repair parts), Alex honored the date of the repair by personally driving to pick up the parts in Cerritos. He was able to very carefully pull the double oven from its location by rigging his tool cart and borrowing some spare car jacks that we had available. It worked and my oven was successfully repaired. Awesome!

    Oscar's Washer & Dryer Repair
I left a message and received a return call (voice message) within 2 hours. In his message, Oscar gave appointment options and explained his service call fee. In the meantime, I further researched the problem and age of my dryer. I decided to replace the unit rather than repair it. I left Oscar a message to that effect. Oscar called within half an hour to simply give me recommendations on what brands to purchase. His courteous reply saved me time and possibly a costly mistake. Hopefully, I won't need his service for several years, but I will recommend him to others until then.

    Universal Appliance Service Inc
Igor brought a colleague, Michael, to assist him because this was a big job and he wanted to properly diagnose it.  The work took multiple visits because when they were diagnosing the problems, they noted multiple potential causes including a failed compressor, which they were sure of, a possible leak of the refrigerant and a problem with them motor/blower.  They knew the compressor was not working but when they tested if for a leak, they could not find one, so they first replaced that and recharged the freon which got the refrigerator and freezer working again.  However, Igor told us to monitor the temperature and if there was a leak, the temperature may start to rise.  they charged us $2,800.00 rather than the original estimate of about $4,000.00 (a new comparable refrigerator/freezer would have been about $9,000 to $10,000.)
After several weeks, the temperature started to rise and Igor returned with Michael.  They spent half a day working on the unit and replaced the coiling system because the old one was corroded.  Igor did not charge me anything at the time because he was not sure it would work.  He said that he would call me back after several weeks and if it was still working, he would charge me then.
Just yesterday, it started getting warm again, only to start working again later in the evening.  Igor came out, looked at everything and determined that the motor should be replace.  He replaced the motor and it is currently working fine.  He charged me $1,500.00 for all of the work he had done previously, including the new motor.
Throughout the process, Igor was very professional, worked to minimize the repair to keep the cost down, was very up-front about the potential total cost and and warranted his work so that we would not have to pay if he could not fix it.
I am extremely pleased with Igor's abilities and professionalism and would gladly use him again and recommend him.

    Pauls Washer & Dryer Service
I left a message for David and he called me back the next day. After discussing the dryer problem David sent out Johnny. Johnny arrived on time and put a new switch and cleaned out the vent. I was very happy with the service!

    A-West Appliance Repair/Dryer Vent Cleaning
I purchased an Angie's List deal for $49 for $100 towards services of an appliance. Barry was very quick to contact me and helpful and flexibile with setting up a time to fix our dryer on a Saturday, which he doesn't ordinarily do. He and Alex were punctual, called when they were on their way, and very professional. They cleaned out our dryer vent and replaced the tubing. The price was a little higher than I expected (I also paid an additional $147), but since I am a first time home owner this might be the going rate. He really seemed to know what he was doing, and he did a thorough cleaning to removed years of caked on lint. He explained to us why the dryer was not working and showed what needed to be done. He also continually asked whether things were satisfactory and cleaned up after himself. He was also very sweet and courteous. I recommend him and would use his services again in the future.

South Bay Appliance / Spears Appliance Service
This has made being a member of Angies List worth it.  In past some services I was looking for did not work in my area, and just wasn't sure if it was worth it.  BUT my 15 year old Kenmore washer started making a horrible noise, I didn't know who to call - looked at what new ones would cost, and the only ones with decent reviews were over $500, and I still like my washer - so looked through Angies List and found this place with good reviews, and is very close by.  I called them, they charge $49 to come out and look at problem, then explain how much and what it would take to fix it.  They gave me a window between 1:00 - 4:00 and technician was here at 2:00 - listened to noise washer made and knew right away what it was - a broken coupling of some kind.  Efficiently took machine apart and replaced coupling in little over 1/2 hour it was done.  The whole cost $159.49 - what a relief - already using washing and it is so quite now.  This place is worth it.

    Appliance Clinic LA
I called Appliance Clinic LA, and the technician arrived the same day. Michael seemed very knowledgeable, and found the problem right on spot. He not only fixed the problem, but it was under one hour and for a reasonable price!! Great service. Will definitely use this company again.

South Bay Appliance / Spears Appliance Service
    Clothes drier didn't work.
Called South Bay Appliance because of good ratings on Angie's List.  Person on phone was efficient.  Made appointment to have a repairman come to the house.  The price for a repairman to look at the problem would be $75 (I think), deductible from cost of repair.
Repairman came and said a belt was busted.  Cost would be $155 parts and labor.  Seemed a bit much, but I said yes.
He fixed it.  Did a good job.

    Bobs Maytag Home Appliance Center
The dishwasher was not cleaning properly. We have owned it for 2-3 years and it always worked great. They came out at the very early end of the three hour window for arrival and within 15 minutes diagnosed that it was not a problem with the dishwasher but with the dishwasher detergent we are using. He explained that there has been a recent change of formula in the detergents for environmental reasons that did not work so well with the hardness of water in our locale. He gave us samples of detergent that he said should clear up the problem and it did. $75 is a lot to pay for such a short visit but they told me on the phone that the service charge would be $65 regardless if a repair was made or not so everything was upfront, professional and honest and we were happy to have clean dishes again.

    SOLIS APPLIANCES
I called their office and the person who answered the phone wasn't able to help me with a quote(I thought it was the compressor) but let me know the technician would call me back. The technician called me back within 5 minutes and was able to tell me the problem was with my fridge's relay. He let me know that Maytag had some of the relays on recall and if mine was 1 that Maytag would repair it free. If not he could fix it for $145. I checked online and mine was not covered by the recall. I called him back at 5:15p and he was at my place at 5:45p. He was fast, and friendly. I just wish I had read his write up closer to see that he offers Angie's list members 5% off. I would hire him again in an instant and will be recommending him with confidence. I appreciate being able to get a quote up front and quick service, make that lightning service.
