Marble & Granite reviews in El Dorado Hills

Filip did an awesome job with both of our bathrooms and our kitchen. We totally remodeled both of our showers and bathroom floors in the bathroom. We also had him re-do our counter tops and backsplash in the kitchen. He was able to provide referrals for plumbers, electricians, etc. It made our projects very easy. He was always prompt, hard working and cleaned up his mess at the end of the day. He has an amazing attention to detail and a good eye for what looks good. He was very easy and nice to work with. I would recommend him for your next project!

We remodeled our home and were referred to Roman Tile & Stone for the tile flooring and we were very pleased with the recommendation. Our quote was handled by Rick, who arrived promptly - even though it was an early Saturday appointment. After our initial appointment, we chose them to proceed with our entire remodel.

We decided to install Italian 6" x 40" wood-plank-designed tile throughout the main living area - approximately 1,000 square feet. Roman Tile & Stone's suggestion on a pattern for the tile made was amazing! Their prices were great and better than other contractors with whom we contacted. After determining Roman Tile & Stone could also handle our countertops, baseboards, backsplash and other features, we hired them to handle everything. It was a great decision to have one contractor handle it all.

Roman Tile & Stone did the demolition work on our old tile counters in the kitchen, bar area, hall bathroom and master bathroom and installed gorgeous Carrera Quartz counters throughout. We had a small issue with our master bath cabinet not being secured properly to the wall (a builder error) and Roman Tile & Stone fixed the problem with no additional cost to us. They handled everything including putting in the four new sinks which included a super-large commercial kitchen sink, new faucet, and garbage disposal. We also chose to remove the old 3.25" baseboard and had them install the new 5.25" baseboards. We were so happy he could handle this as well because we thought we'd need to find a finish carpenter. We also had two very large areas with rather tricky mosaic metal and stone backsplash but those areas turned out beautifully! Jaime's attention to detail was tremendous with the backsplash.

After seeing how beautiful the floors turned out in our main living area, we asked them to install the tile in our master bedroom and master closet. Roman Tile & Stone returned to our home within days - we didn't even had a chance to relax from the initial remodel! It was great because they were fast and efficient and we were able to resume our lives very quickly.

Careful attention to detail was always apparent. I am quite fussy and so is my husband, and I know we were a little nervous and anxious about such a large remodel; however, Rick, Jaime and Steve were very kind and listened to any of our concerns and put our minds at ease at all times. We would highly recommend Roman Tile & Stone for your flooring and counters all the little extras too!

His most recent work was to re-grout our master shower and quote on resurfacing our granite counters.  I was and am so amazed that he did some water testing on the surface and advised that no resurfacing was needed; here was an excellent opportunity to expand his profitability, but did not and I am always impressed by his integrity and his professionalism.  While here a friend was visiting and I was able to recommend him highly and do to you as well.

Lorin came to the house and gave us a detailed proposal within 24 hours of visiting our home. The job scheduling process went perfectly and after selecting our granite and tile at the EZ Tile showroom in Live Oak, the crew started work on 10-1 and finished the job on 10-8 as promised. Their punctuality allowed me to coordinate schedules with an appliance contractor and painting contractor without any problem. The team worked meticulously and even came back to reinstall the faucet after it had to be replaced due to damage from the shipper.
Karen was a great help with the materials selection process and handled the contracting and payment arrangements in a very courteous and professional manner. Lorin, Valentin, and Josh did a fantastic job, cleaning up at the end of each day and taking great care not to damage the new hardwood floors. They were pleasant but also very focused on the work at hand, which was very appreciated. They finished on time, something very important to us given some medical issues with a family member and the need to have a quiet home for the recovery period.
I will definitely call EZ Tile again when we're ready to work on the bathrooms.

First they came and evaluated our shower.  It is entirely made of marble but was etched and had scum that we could not remove.  He was knowledgeable and suggested appropriate cleaning products to use on this material.  We made an appointment for him to come back and clean and polish the entire shower.  We could not be happier with the results, and his professionalism.  We would definitely use this company again.

Jim and crew undertook the major remodel of a 9 year old master bath. The primary areas of upgrade was granite, new shower tile, fixtures and shower door. Jim was consulting all the way on all new hard surfaces both the material itself and the best install application to be consistent with my style throughout the house. Seems like a small space, but many decisions had to be made. Love the final product and would use Jim Christian Construction again.

Ben and Judy were great to work with.  They walked us through the whole process, helping us in choosing our granite, laying out the templates on the granite, letting us know what each step entailed.  They came in one day to remove the old countertop and  measure for the templates.  Judy met us to assist in the final selection of the granite.  We met at their facility to lay out the templates on the granite to our satisfaction.  The installation went smoothly, and the plumbing needs were completed.  We were very pleased with their service, responsiveness, and attention to detail.  Would definitely contact them again when we are ready to do the bathrooms.

Their cost was medium.  They were extremely professional and accommodating with regard to schedule.  They did a fantastic job with the installation; they did exactly what we wanted.  We did not have any issues; everything went perfectly.  We chose them because they got us good pricing on the stone and they were local.  They were recommended by another stone provider.

Steve and his team did a great job.  He was very responsive to our needs and everything was installed in a timely fashion.  Everything was completed on time and within a week. I met with Steve initially so he could take a few measurements in order to produce a bid.  He was very professional and on-time for our appointment.  He had a great attitude and promised to email the bid within 2 days.  My wife and I were very pleased with the bid we received so we called Steve to schedule the job.
We scheduled it for two weeks out because my wife and I still needed to finalize our granite selection.  The plan was to get started on a Tuesday at 9AM.  They were on-time and completed the tear out in a few hours.  They took the remainder of the measurements they would need for the granite fabrication.  The only thing that wasn't part of the plan was my wife and I had made some changes to what we wanted for a tile backsplach.  Steve was so adaptable to what we wanted to do. He just kept saying we want you to be happy. This actually added an extra day to the plan where Steve would have to come back the following week and finish up even though he probably had other jobs that he needed to get going on.  This was much appreciated by us though and we truly felt he wanted his customers to be happy.  He said not to worry about it and they will be back on Thursday once they had the fabrication done for the countertops.
They were back on Thursday morning around 9AM to install the sink and the countertops as well as start the tile.  On Thursday everything went as expected.  The countertops were installed, sink was installed and part of the tile was installed.  They returned on Friday to finish the rest of the backsplach and grout what they could.  We still had one little section that needed to be completed and like I said Steve was very flexible to our needs.  He was expecting to be done on Friday but we actually had to have him come out again the following week to finish up the rest of our tile work.
Our experience with S&D could not have gone better. I think Steve really does his best to take care of his customers.  He was on-time, flexible to our needs and priced reasonably. I would definitely recommend using him if you have any sort of granite or tile work that needs to be done.

We chose Steve to do our countertops based on his bid on the job, and the reviews of his work here on Angies list.  At first, Steve was very responsive. He recommended a stone shop Domus, for us to pick out stone.  We went with him to the store, and picked out stone that we loved.
Then there was a weeks delay because the stone shop would not give him a discount on the stone.  Steve did not inform us of the shop unable to give us a discount. My husband and I had to continually follow up with him, till we got this information and told him we wanted to go ahead. We loved the stone, it was still in our budget, so we decided to go ahead and pay for it.
Steve came over to do measurements and we discussed what we wanted.  He picked up the stone as agreed and set a date for it to be installed in the kitchen.  When that day arrived, Steve was not present to do the install, it was done by his partner.  My husband discovered that the edges of the countertop were not squared as agreed, but rounded.  Again, we went ahead anyway, as we were eager to get our kitchen done. My husband had concerns about the install, which he expressed at the time, and I've followed up several times with Steve, and he keeps telling me he'll come back to address these, but he has not.
    Our current concerns:
    - Corners were not as agreed
    - Counter top in one area is not level (discovered by the backsplash installer)
    - Seams look like they were done by an amateur, they are messy.
    - Many edges are chipped
    - Stone not sealed properly, already showing water spots
    - If you are looking for someone who is responsive, this is not the company you are looking for
In closing I'd like to say that, I really liked Steve, and believe that he may be experiencing some personal issues.  However, it's no excuse for not doing right by us.  He provides this product at a great price, so it may be worth it to some to go for price - and maybe this is an isolated incident.  I have informed Steve of my concerns in writing, and while he responded that he would address them, he has not.
