Steve was the tech. He got under the house and did a very thorough job of checking for leaks. He added insulation to the plenum and otherwise gave the ducting a clean bill of health. We had the original work done in 2018. When they heard their was a potential problem, they were out the next day. In my book they are the best!!

They put mini splint in wrong place, should have be installed with existing AC units. Never finished job, did work prior to permit. Electrical permits were not submitted to city. They came out 4 times and no one knew what to do and said they would research and come back. Abandoned job, all materials were to be supplied by CES instead I purchased them and they never refunded me. Paid in full, installed 14 can lights in a 17 X 20 room. Left materials for over a month in patio walk way. Paid them over 23K and did not finish job. Not licensed employees, owner never inspected or submitted a schematic. Insisted on money upfront, and check only. They did the work as a side job. They were to finish room in 3 week time frame and this originated in June. Room is without permit and so is the mini splint. The hose was to be run under the house. They installed another electrical panel in the room. The home has an electrical panel. 4 months and they never came back. Insisted on a change order. No change order or contract is documented. They asked for owner to purchase 15 gallons of paint to be purchased. Home depot charged owner $783.00 when CES was to supply all material. Home depot said room only needed 4 gallons. Please do your homework and if pictures could be posted no one would use them again. IRS involved as they insisted on cash. Solar panels from neighbors and past customers claimed they leaked and broke roof tiles. Once credit card form of payment was insisted upon from owners they never showed up. The room was to be a continuum of the home, the home is custom and they brought composition material that do not match baseboards in home and closets doors are not real wood. The door was installed and it does not close and a gap under the door has a 1 inch gap. It is not an exterior door nor matched the doors in remainder of house. Called a finish carpenter and he was amazing and will ensure the room looks like the rest of house. When installing the mini splint in shrubs, hit drips and evergreens are all dying.

SHINGLE SPRINGS HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING
We have used this company for 20 years and always been happy with their work and fair charges. On this occasion our heating system did not work, I called 7.30am on a Monday and despite being really busy as it was the first cold spell of the season they got a technician to me within an hour. He diagnosed the issue fixed it and charged me for 30 mins of work. As has been my experience over the years Shingle Springs Heating and Air diagnose and solve quickly and at a reasonable cost.

    Gilmore Heating & Air
My HVAC system was very old as was the associated ducting. Both were replaced as well as an old water heater. Gilmore helped me select new systems that are reliable, suitable to my home and energy efficient. They patiently answered my myriad of questions and provided pictures of my currents equipments many issues. All the technicians worked quickly and kept me apprised of the progress and of any issues encountered. They took pride in their work. All my contacts at Gilmore were very positive, friendly and professional. I have already scheduled a plumbing project and look forward to working with them again. I am happy to recommend them to others.

    CAPITAL AIRE SYSTEMS
On Thursday, July 19th our A/C stopped working around noon (104 degree day). Called a few A/C repair companies from YELP & Angie's List and none of them were able to come to my house for 6 to 7 days. I called Capital Aire and they were able to fit me in the next day. A very nice, polite, professional man, Jake, checked out the entire system and luckily had the needed replacement part with him - we were up and running in no time. He was a life saver - sure wasn't looking forward to another night without A/C. If I have any heating or A/C problems in the future they will be my first call.

I am glad with the services of Humberto in doing the maintenance job. The overall rating I would give is excellent service with his punctuality, professionalism (explaining every step of the work he did with comparison on the optimal functioning of the systems and the items that need to be addressed), consumer-friendly, very positive work ethics, sincere positive attitude on the company he works for and the co-workers), and making the customer feel confident and comfortable with the optimal functioning of the systems. I will not hesitate to ask for his services anew in the next maintenance round check. Kudos to the Humberto and to Gilmore. More power to you!

I saw an ad on Angie's list for a Quiet Cool Trinity Pro 3.3 whole house fan system installed for a good price. However, I wasn't quite sure the 3.3 would move enough air for my sq. footage. I left a msg. and Christopher the owner called me back the next day as he was out of town. We talked about the system and since I already had a pre-existing fan, but it was the old style box top from 20 years ago that sounded like a plane taking off. Christopher assured me the 3.3 would be more than enough for my sq. footage, especially since I installed a Quiet Cool Attic Gable Vent fan that moves a lot of air too. He also said the noise reduction would amaze me and it did. It's been turned on high and the lady of the house didn't even know it was turned on. Since, I know how to tape, top, texture, and paint, Christopher gave me a great discount from the Angie's list price. The guys, Phil and Eddie, showed up on time and ready to go. It went by fairly fast and I've just finished taping it out. Tomorrow or the day after, I'll get down to topping it and finish it with some orange peel texture spray to match the existing texture and paint. Great team and great price for a great product. Thanks!

    NorCal Mechanical Heating and Cooling
They sent over one of their employees (Ethan) to perform the work, he was professional and cared about our home. he would not walk in without shoe covers and the first thing he did was put down a drop cloth. his work was done quickly/professionally and for the price quoted. will definitely use Nor Cal Mechanical in the future.

It went amazingly well. Sam, Beric, and Geric(no, they're not related. LOL) showed up on time, proceeded to get the facts of the job from me during a walk through of the job and wasted no time in getting my old equipment and ducts out and replacing them in the allotted time frame of two days. They also have a sub-contractor who comes and removes all of their trash for them for free in return for the recoverables, such as parts from the HVAC equipment and refrigerants in the AC coil and condenser. Jason, the spvsr. came by mid-day the first day to check on how things were progressing. We talked about doing a future solar electric panel addition as a solution to my energy needs. I would highly recommend using PES for your HVAC and Solar energy needs.

    Gilmore Heating & Air
The Gilmore technician showed up promptly, was clean and courteous. I explained what was happening and ventured that the refrigerant had leaked as the HVAC system was 20 years old. He went up into the attic where the unit was located and bumped and thumped for around an hour or so, then came down and said my heat exchanger needed to be replaced due to cracks, which he showed me pictures of on his phone. Then, he proceeded to check the refrigerant levels at the condenser and found that the unit was two pounds low. Capacity is 9.5 pounds on the 4 ton Goodman unit I had. He replaced the two pounds at a cost of $125 a pound because the refrigerant is no longer legal to produce in CA. He did not say the coil was leaking in the attic or anything related to the issue. He then continued to push that I get the heat exchanger replaced. I told him I would think about it as it was just becoming hot and I wouldn't use the heater for quite awhile. Jump forward five months, I figured to replace the heat exchanger because winter is coming and called Gilmore to do the job. I found out that the cost to replace the heat exchanger in 20 year old equipment would be almost enough to buy a new, more efficient unit, not just the exchanger. So, I put out an RFQ for a complete HVAC R&R for the 20 year old Goodman equipment. Gilmore was first to respond, again. I took their estimate along with two others and selected someone else to do the work as Gilmore was only going to use the equipment they wanted to use, which is Rheem/Ruud equipment. I wanted Carrier. Well, it turns out that the the company that won the bid and R&R the old equipment had time to inspect the old heat exchanger with me after it was removed. Not only were there no cracks in it, it wasn't even the same heat exchanger type as shown to me by the AC technician on his phone. In addition, it would have been impossible for the tech to take apart the equipment in the first place to take the pictures he showed me. The other problem was I had a 4 ton AC coil and condenser and coil and a 3 ton heater with blower. This is insufficient to keep the coil from freezing and becoming brittle thus springing small leaks. An apples and oranges system. None of this was ever mentioned by Gilmore's tech and Chris, the guy that came out to do the HVAC system R&R bid. All in all, Gillmore's veracity is highly suspect when it comes to their service people. What they want to do is sell systems and install them for the big bucks that come with it. Buyer beware. I would never use Gilmore for anything ever again.
