    Sun Valley Behavioral Medical
I had been a patient here for over 10 years.  One day I show up for my appointment and told that the administration has dropped my insurance, Blue Cross Blue Shield, which is a pretty popular insurance.  So I'm out of my medicine and told that in order to see the Dr. I need to pay $267.  I told the front window that I didn't have $267 to spare and that I was out of my meds.  They laughed in my face and told me I wasn't seeing the Dr. unless I coughed up the money.  So that night I go home and have anxiety attacks all night over it.  I call the Dr. the next morning and he tells me admin. did drop my insurance, but that I could go to a clinic that he works at where they take illegals and medical patients.  So desperate to see the Dr. I go to the clinic on a Saturday and walk in and there are 50 patients and only 2 doctors.  I am told that I have to fill out about 10 pages of documents and wait 2 hours (this is on my day off).  I am sure all the illegals in there and medical patients had all week to go to the clinic.  Mind you this is the same Dr. I am refused services at his private office.  So frustrated I tell them I'll seek another doctor.  Well, there is not another psychiatric Dr. in the Imperial Valley so I was forced to go to San Diego to get treatment.  Sun Valley Behavorial has become somewhat of an assembly line for psychiatric patients.  It's all about getting them in and out, writing scripts and not caring.  I have never had an appointment where the Dr. talked to me longer than 5-10 minutes. Of all providers a psychiatrist should know you can't just cut off someone's meds cold turkey.  While I am a hard worker who works had to receive my medical benefits where they are no longer accepted, Sun Valley continues to beg people over the local radio station to come in and be lab rats and take meds for testing studies they participate in which I am sure they get a big chunk of change for.  They will even offer to pay you money to take the medicine....and you are treated just like a lab rat.  Believe me...I tried it and couldn't take the medicine.  I felt drugged up for days.  So needless to say, I did go to La Jolla and find a Dr. that spent an hour with me evaluating me and I am very pleased with.  I'd never experienced such quality care like I received in San Diego.  So any psychiatrists looking to set up a new business, the Imperial Valley is the place to come.  Sun Valley Behavioral is less than satisfactory and they are eating up the market because there are no other psychiatric providers down here.  The Imperial Valley is in need for qaulity psychiatric care!  Please consider coming down here to give the patients options.  Sun Valley is only into making money and writing out scripts.  The doctors show no care for their patients whatsoever.  I was forced to endure their care for 10 years due to there not being any other providers in the area.  For those in the Imperial Valley, I encourage you to not allow yourself to settle for less than satisfactory when it comes to your health!  Before going to Sun Valley, try looking for a Dr. in the San Diego area.  Good Luck!
