    ABC Cooling & Heating
WOW awesome job. I called for a quote, Jeff Cecchin was there the next day to give me a quote and within a week I had my new wall heater. Joel and Allen were fast and efficient. The cleanup was spotless. If your looking for professionalism in a contractor I recommend ABC.

    Atticare SF
Please see above.  Atticare SF Team met and exceeded, in most cases, my expectations.  They were very flexible about doing what needed to  be done and proudly showing what they had done.  They did excellent work.

    Comfort Energy Inc
Dominick from Comfort Energy diagnosed the problem and fortunately had the necessary parts on his truck.
He replaced the gas value and thermopile.
I anticipated that it would be one or the other part that was the problem.  He recommended I replace the thermopile that showed wear as well as the gas valve that was not working.
There aren't many other parts that go bad on this kind of unit and so it was a matter of replacing those parts or replacing the entire unit.
I was given 3 options from high to low $ and chose to do the repairs that made the most sense to me.
I don't know enough about these things to comment on the price charged.  Since he was at my house for 1 1/2 hours I am judging the cost to be fair but I can't knowingly say the cost was excellent.
Dominick seemed very knowledgable, professional, respectful and very pleasant.
I would use this company's services again.

    Long's Heating & Air Conditioning
Long's Heating is the one we used for heating and AC. The guy we had really knew what he was doing. He was very thorough. He was very neat. He was very good. We are very pleased. He answered all of our questions. He was very nice. He was very thorough. He did the work as he promised. He came out one day and then we had to get a part and he came back and installed it. I was very, very pleased. I would give them an 'A' plus. We didn't get any other prices and we didn't mind paying it. We thought the price was reasonable. We saw them and they were highly rated on Angie's List and called them up. He was available and he came out. It wasn't an outrageous price, it was money, it wasn't cheap but I don't have anything to compare it to. I would go back there. I would guess that it wasn't relatively outrageously expensive. Somebody might have been cheaper but I can't imagine they could have been any better.

    Jetson Mechanical Inc
During the Holidays we arrived home on Friday evening, 12/26, to find our furnace was not functioning. It was cold.
The next morning I called Jetson Mechanical ( I had used them before.). The owner himself agreed to come that day in spite of the weekend and holiday. He arrived as planned solved our problem and the fee was most reasonable for a weekend.

Atlas Trillo Heating & Air Conditioning
They arrived on time. Removed the old furnace. Made the updates to the connections and installed the new furnace. They also replaced the old thermostat as part off the installation. They then tested the new furnace, which didn't operate correctly. They were able to replace the defective part in the furnace, that day and make sure the new furnace was working correctly.

    Central Heating & Air
The only nit I can think of is that the tech arrived at 9am  when I thought I had made an appointment for 10am.    I give a B for Punctuality because Matt was early, not late, and there is always the possibility of a misunderstanding.  Matt was very thorough, patient, professional and an excellent communicator.  He explained everything to me and didn't try to upsell any additional services although he did recommend duct cleaning eventually which probably does need to be done especially since my husband has asthma.  Would definitely use this company again.

I had another technician look at my heat pump. He popped off the cover and tried to switch it on at the compressor. It wouldn't turn on. It just made a clicking sound. He said the whole thing needed to be replaced because it seized up. I didn't get an exact estimate but he said it would be $2000-3000. After doing some research online, I found other possible causes for this but most commonly pointing to a bad capacitor. One of the main reasons I picked Duke was because in his reviews people mentioned him replacing the capacitor. I didn't know if this was also my problem but I felt that he would at least investigate that first before claiming it needed to be replaced. First, Duke is nice guy. You feel like he's going to take care of you an be honest about the repairs. Secondly, he is competent. Duke popped open the same panel the other guy did and the first thing he saw was the bad cap. After I asked him to show me how he knew it was bad (the top of it should be flat not domed and bulging BTW), I couldn't believe the other guy didn't notice it. It took Duke half the time find a bad cap than the other guy did to declare it dead. Duke went to his truck, got the part, and flipped the switch. IT WORKS!! That was a huge relief. Next he checked my freon and the rest of the system - vents, air fow, etc. One more thing... this complex has 90 of these units. I've read about other repairmen that have been hired and have said the motor needs to be lubricated every ??? years to keep it from seizing. Duke said the motor is sealed. It can't be lubricated. I don't know if those other people are incompetent, shady, or what. I don't know if Duke is the cheapest out there but you get your money's worth. I'll gladly pay $166 instead of $2000 any day.

There were several reasons I was particularly satisifed with the services performed.  First of all, our air conditioner broke on the first really hot weekend of the season.  I called several repair services and Duke's responded immediately and set up an appointment.   He arrived promptly at the desiganted time and quickly diagnosed the problem.  He did not have the replacement part with him, but figured out when he could get it and arranged to return to install it, accommodating my work schedule.  He also suggested a temporary fix that was largely successful.  After obtaining the necessary replacement, he again arrived at the designated time and quickly and efficiently replaced the defective pump.
I  fully expected to be charged for the two visits--one on the weekend to diagnose the problem and the second on a weekday to install it, but, on his own initiative, he only charged me for the one visit (saying "If I can't make a living honestly, what's the point?"--an unusual and refreshing attitude, in my experience.)  He also inquired if I was eligible for a senior discount (10%) and gave that to me.  Thus, the cost of the service was considerably less than what I'd originally anticipated.
    I highly recommend this service.

They are always extremely responsive and they give us fair quotes. They don't try to add on unnecessary services-just great service and professionalism every time we have called them to work on our hvac system.
