    All went very well. When I called Eduardo the day before and told him what we wanted done, he gave me his quote and said he could come out the next day. He came with one helper, arriving on time. (He actually called earlier in the morning when he was running a bit late just to let us know.) We showed him the desks and they were quick to figure out the most efficient way to do the job, finishing all in about 45 minutes. They were very polite, professional and actually offered to do more since Eduardo said that disassembling the desk turned out to take less time than he thought when we talked over the phone. That's when we asked if he could haul away our speakers and move the storage container which he gladly did at no extra charge.

    I had a very pleasant experience w/ Junk King. Chris was very professional, in uniform and brought 3 people. He gave me a bid I thought was a bit high and he was able to work w/ me. He did the work (removed dirt and debris) ON THE SPOT. Very nice and reliable. I will call them again.

    College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving
    My family had several pieces of furniture that we had outgrown and I wanted to donate them instead of leaving them outside on the curb with a Free sign on them (my husband's choice). We don't own a truck nor do I know anyone who does (Prius, anyone?) so I went online and found College Hunks Hauling Junk (CHHJ) through the Goodwill web site. The CHHJ web site is easy to navigate so I booked a pick up appointment. I read the price page and knew I'd have to pay around $150+ but I figure that is cheaper than damaging my back and going to the doctor. If you go to their web site, there is a visual estimating your cost based on volume. I then received a phone call from CHHJ asking me to please reschedule as they were actually booked the day I wanted. They had other dates and times that worked out well for me, and the gal I spoke with on the phone was very polite. They book a two hour window and call you about 30 minutes before they arrive. The night before their pick up date, they called me to confirm. Then the morning of the scheduled pick up, they called me again to reconfirm. I like being called like this so I was very pleased with that kind of attention. Then they called about 15 minutes before arriving to tell me they were running about 15 minutes late. Since I wasn't in a rush, that was ok. Once they arrived, they immediately apologized for being a little late. The local owner of this franchise, Ryan Silva, was one of the two guys doing this job. He was extremely polite and explained all the details using his binder full of visuals. He answered my questions and was enthusiastic and professional. He gave me an estimate of $225 (I got a $10 discount since I was referred by Goodwill) which is based on the volume your stuff takes up on his truck. This cost was a little more than I had planned for but I was glad to pay it since I didn't have to do any hauling whatsoever (they take stuff out of your home, attic, garage, wherever), they clean up after themselves (in my case, no cleaning needed), and they follow Green practices and donate as much of your stuff as possible to Goodwill. Ryan had me fill out a Goodwill donation form which he signed and returned to me. They will haul stuff to a landfill if needed, too. My husband was not thrilled with having to pay a penny, but I figure I am helping support American jobs. Plus these are young guys trying to make a living here in the Bay Area. They do pickups all up and down the Peninsula. I was very pleased and would hire them again.

    Tom Anderson aka "Clutterboy" helped me for a total 4.5 hours on Sat. & Sun. morning to organize and de-clutter my two-car garage and backyard storage shed. Tom also hauled away books, Goodwill donations, recycling and motor oil.  He has great energy and helped me to make decisions I had been putting off for years on what to keep or not to keep. He gives you suggestions about your stuff but he's totally OK with your final decision.  He works quickly and thoroughly.  He helped with thinking through the layout of the storage space in the garage and shed. At times he assigned a task for me to focus on like sorting the contents one box or bag at a time of "catch-all" clutter. It was suprising how much could get done in 15 minutes. I can now walk through my garage and shed and find what I need  --this has eliminated a great deal of stress for me. Tom also gave me tips for "maintenance" so I can keep everything in its place.

    This approach worked for me and it was worth the cost. I've tried numerous times to start this project.  I'd make some progress but always felt overwhelmed after working on it and within a week it would fall apart again. I'm happy that Tom encouraged me to recycle, donate items and pointed out reason why it was best not to keep them. Items that could not be recycled or donated were thrown in the trash.

    With is great sense of humor and strong work ethic Tom was great moral support for clearing up both the physical and mental cobwebs when it came to my "stuff"!
