    GoodFellas Construction Bay Area
We remodeled our kitchen, which I?ve heard can be a nightmare! Not for us! I have to say that all the crafts people from the demo guys, plumbing, drywall, patch, and paint, carpenters were all top notch, professional, courteous, and polite.? They did not disturb my neighbors, they arrived each morning when they said they would, and cleaned up every day.?? Highly recommend!

    SGK Home Solutions Inc
All went very well. We had worked with SGK before, installing some downstairs windows, and felt very comfortable going back to them again. Within a few days of calling them, Frank Jewett, the window sales person for our area, came out to the house and spent an hour and a half or so discussing possibilities for each of our 3 upstairs bedrooms and one bathroom. Frank was very knowledgeable, providing a lot of detail and answering all of our questions. Two or three weeks later, we scheduled installation dates (2.5 days).
We had two installers for this job. The lead was an older man, Gocha, from the country of Georgia, and he was working with his son-in-law. The son-in-law spoke no English, having very recently arrived in the states. Gocha had some language limitations (he has been here several years), but could always make himself understood and we could always find a way to communicate what we needed to. The two of them were incredibly hard workers, and Gocha checked in with us regularly to make sure every detail was correct and to our satisfaction. Our front door installation was particularly challenging, so we totally appreciated their great attention to detail.
They cleaned up well and were obviously pleased with their craftsmanship, as well they should have been.
The only reason I gave them a "B" on pricing is that I'm not really how to rate them in this category. We originally selected them because of comments on Angie's List, with folks feeling they definitely got their money's worth. We do, too, but whether that's an "A" or a "B," I'm not sure.

    Cliffhanger Home Repairs
All went perfectly. I called Cliff to describe the jobs. After talking with him, I felt pretty confident he was the right guy to do the work, and we arranged a time for him to come the following week.
He first assessed the jobs, and then talked with us about what he needed to do. The first three tasks all presented some challenges, but he went right to work and eventually problem-solved all. (This included running to our local OSH to get some needed materials.) He worked hard throughout, consulting along the way, performing each job to our satisfaction. We definitely feel like we got our money's worth and would not hesitate to call Cliff again or recommend him to others.

Mostly, everything went well. Not having done this sort of thing before, we were a bit unsure as to whether we knew all the right questions to ask, but when Frank, our estimator, came out, he listened well and presented clear options which made us feel confident all would go well. We were happy with our choices, and all of the major work was done in a very timely and professional manner. The one hitch we had was with the window frames which were installed around our sliding glass doors. We assumed that the completed job would include the painting of these door/window frames (we even had the paint), but when the three workers finished up, the lead told us that painting was not included in the installation. We didn't think this was fair since we had not been previously told about this exclusion. Finally, after a lot of back and forth over a period of three weeks, the SGK owner agreed to send out a painter who would paint the window frames at no extra cost to us. Alas, the painter did a terrific job (we tipped him to show our appreciation), so all is now well.

A1 On Track Sliding Door Repair & Installation
Initial contact with Linda in their office was delightful. She has a great personality and was very helpful in scheduling our repair.
On day of repair, they called to see if they could come earlier, as they had finished the previous job quickly.
They knew what they were doing, easily took down the door, replaced the rollers, cleaned and aligned everything properly, and left me with a door that behaves as if it was brand new!

    Custom Exteriors Inc
I got quotes from a couple different companies in the Bay Area for new windows and patio doors for my condo.  Custom Exteriors was not the cheapest (nor the most expensive), but Rob, their rep was the most thorough in his explanation of the different types of windows available for me and which one would be best for my situation.  The company checked in regularly with me throughout the process of measuring, ordering, and installing the windows, which I appreciated.
The installation crew was a bit late getting to my place, but they were very professional and did a good job installing the windows, cleaning up, and even helping me get rid of some old ugly sliding mirrors that I had in my condo.

    HOME DEPOT AT HOME SVC
People from Home Depot at Home SVC. Company was very professional. They did whatever they said they would do. They met all of their obligations. Their installers did an excellent job. They were very good about cleaning up after themselves. However, there was one tiny spot on one of the windows that was oozing out foam. The supervisor immediately came out to look at it and did a small fix but that didn’t work. So, they are now going to send out their installers to redo the strip. It seemed like quality of the work is very important to them. It is a very small defect and I’m positive that they are definitely going to fix it. I thought that for the quality of the windows I got, it was a great price. I would recommend them. I would use them again in the future.

    Discovery Doors - Entry doors
Overall we are very happy with our new door. The installation was very prefessional and took about 6 hrs. The installer didnt speak much english so we interfaced with Greg when issues arose. We had purchased a mortice lock for the door and were unaware that the door came pre-drilled with a double bore for a deadbolt. Greg hadnt made it clear that this type of lock was not allowed (per the agreement). We agreed to exchange it and Greg returned it to the store for us and they refunded the cost to us. I was surprised to find the 2 floating panels in the door to be offset (not symmetrical). Greg was surprised, he didnt notice any flaw in the door. He later confirmed with the manufacturer (AAW Doors Inc.) that this was normal. The panels float to accomodate expansion and they are not always positioned exactly the same. Overall we're very happy. The quality of the door, the workmanship of the installation. I would do business with Greg again in the future.
