  • Dan showed up at 3 pm and evaluated the work and gave me a fair cost for the total job. Dan was very professional, explaining every step of the process. He is enthusiastic, tidy and as expected by his expertise, he performed an outstanding job. My wife and I were we happy when we finally had hot water for our showers since we left Mexico the previous day. Dan took away our broken water heater, cleaned up everything and left us with an excellent impression of a job well done by a professional. We would highly recommend Dan and Water Heaters Only.

  • Wrong diagnosis: I was on out of town when the clothes dryer failed at my rental house, so I selected a company with a high Angie's List rating to do the repairs. Technician Mark diagnosed that the main motor required replacement, and estimated $400-500. The tenant and I felt that this was too much to spend on a more than 10 year old clothes dryer, but repairing made sense if I bought the motor and installed it myself. The tenant agreed to find an alternative way of drying her clothes, and to let me repair the dryer on my return. The motor did run as long as the "push to start" button was held down, but would stop as soon as that button was released, leading us to question whether it was really bad. So, I postponed getting a replacement until I did my own tests. I removed the motor and found it heavily covered with lint (see picture). I vacuumed away the lint, connected the motor to a power source, and it ran well. The centrifugal switch operated properly. After reinstalling the motor and troubleshooting, I found that the "even heat electronic assembly" circuit board was defective. Replacing the circuit board is very straightforward once the part is obtained. After I replaced the circuit board, the clothes dryer is in good working order. I really believe that the technician should have made the correct diagnosis and repaired the dryer for a much more reasonable amount, sparing my tenant the inconvenience of doing without a clothes dryer for more than a few days! I paid $60 ($85 less $25 senior citizen coupon) for the diagnosis.

  • Great! LP came within 30 minutes of my call, and quickly identified that my unit needed a coolant refresh. This was accomplished in about an hour and my freezer is back to -20C this morning and working perfectly.

  • Scheduling was easy. I used their coupon for consultation on Angie's list. But the technician was not able to make it on appointed time. They communicated with me promptly about change in schedule ahead of time. I really appreciate their efforts to value my time and give me a heads up. Technician, Kevin, came as re-scheduled and did a thorough check and gave me options to decide on how I want to proceed. I am very satisfied with their work ethics and work quality.

  • I feel like I got two new appliances for the price of fixing one!  The repair person came on time, was very professional and helpful.  He diagnosed and fixed the freezer problem without any trouble and had the part I needed on hand.  It works beautifully now!  He also checked the dishwasher and said it needed no repair, the problem is my hard water.  He told me a different kind of dishwasher soap to buy and said to always include a cup of white vinegar in the dishwashing to combat the hard water.  The difference in my dishes is amazing - it is really like getting a new dishwasher that works better than my old one ever did, and this for the price of a little vinegar.  I was impressed with his honesty and knowledge.

  • Luan  was  very professional and nice about fixing the problem.   He cleaned up the top of the fridge area and
    saw the issue with the seals was caused by the condenser heating up and then the seals sticking.   Also the leaking causes a  problem with the internal pressure. 
    He guaranteed the leaking was fixed.  The door sticking may come back but then it needs a  new seal. 
    Overall he was friendly and competent and couldn't beat his promptness. When your fridge is leaking you want to 
    get it fixed right away.

  • Called him and he answered.  He made appt to come that afternoon and arrived at the agreed on time.  He knew exactly what was wrong and carries the part. He was professional and fixed it.  He is great!

  • I had another technician look at my heat pump. He popped off the cover and tried to switch it on at the compressor. It wouldn't turn on. It just made a clicking sound. He said the whole thing needed to be replaced because it seized up. I didn't get an exact estimate but he said it would be $2000-3000. After doing some research online, I found other possible causes for this but most commonly pointing to a bad capacitor. One of the main reasons I picked Duke was because in his reviews people mentioned him replacing the capacitor. I didn't know if this was also my problem but I felt that he would at least investigate that first before claiming it needed to be replaced. First, Duke is nice guy. You feel like he's going to take care of you an be honest about the repairs. Secondly, he is competent. Duke popped open the same panel the other guy did and the first thing he saw was the bad cap. After I asked him to show me how he knew it was bad (the top of it should be flat not domed and bulging BTW), I couldn't believe the other guy didn't notice it. It took Duke half the time find a bad cap than the other guy did to declare it dead. Duke went to his truck, got the part, and flipped the switch. IT WORKS!! That was a huge relief. Next he checked my freon and the rest of the system - vents, air fow, etc. One more thing... this complex has 90 of these units. I've read about other repairmen that have been hired and have said the motor needs to be lubricated every ??? years to keep it from seizing. Duke said the motor is sealed. It can't be lubricated. I don't know if those other people are incompetent, shady, or what. I don't know if Duke is the cheapest out there but you get your money's worth. I'll gladly pay $166 instead of $2000 any day.

  • In attempting to vet out Meyer Appliances service ability to repair a brand of refrigerator they sell with a chronic issue, the service manager, Mark, was not approachable and belittlingly. After objecting to his conduct, we were recommended to seek service elsewhere. This was the best advice we received.
