    Living Water Pool Service
The service was fine but I think the price was too much. I was thinking of looking for another provider with a less price. They charge extra for cleaning the filters. outside pool cleaning service, any extra work they do is charge an extra cost. The cleaning of the pool is very satisfactory but its a little bit pricey. Couldn't rate the price because I don't have other price to compare it with. But in case I would have another provider with a less pricey then I would definitely hire the company with lesser price.

    R1 Pool Service
Luis was fantastic... professional, responsive, knowledgeable, reasonably priced, and a really nice guy. He even gave me some free advice on helping balance the sanitizer levels in the pool to prevent staining -- followed up with a youtube video and everything!!! My problem was a leak in the inlet valve to the filter. Based on the pictures, Luis was up-front that he would try to fix the leak using the existing plumbing setup (and save the backflush assembly), but that the plumbing was tight and he may have to replace the assembly if the repair didn't take. He first made the repair... let it dry... then came back the next day to followup (which I really appreciated) to make sure it wasn't leaking. Unfortunately, the repair didn't "take" the first time (and still leaked)... I didn't blame Luis as he was trying to save me money in the first place and made me aware that this might happen. But because he felt the repair should have been successful, he replaced backflush assembly at no additional cost (although I would have been happy to pay for the replacement!!). It's refreshing to find someone who take so much pride and accountability in their work. I'll definitely use Luis in the future.

THE ORDER: Round jacuzzi This was our first dip into jacuzzi waters. We specifically wanted a round bubbler. After visiting many showrooms we realized their was not much selection in the round category. YIPPEE: We found Alan who specializes in Nordic Hot Tubs. The Nordic line provided exactly what we were looking for, a quality tub, lots of variety in size and shape, easy to use and maintain, with a reasonable price. Also, Alan out priced all the showrooms we had visited. He is a super nice, knowledgable, person who made buying our first jacuzzi a fun, exciting experience. CHALLENGES Overcome: Our tub would be installed on a hillside, with a deck built around it, leaving little room for adjustment. Alan made several trips to us to see things first hand. He worked with our contractor and the install went smoothly. SUMMARY: Once up and running, Alan made another trip out and taught us in person how to use and care for our tub. We love our jacuzzi. It is the greatest way to relax at the end of a day. We highly recommend both Nordic and Alan. He takes great care of his customers.

    Aqua Care
Irit and her company had previously worked on our pool and did a good job. She remembered me when I called her. Seemed happy to be able to provide pool maintenance for us. Told me she would stop by to look at our pool and give me a call back within a couple of days. Never called back. I left 2 more messages on her voicemail. Irit never responded. Not even the courtesy of "we can't do the job right now." Very disappointed.

The Pool Guys Remodeling & Repair
The experience was very good. They were very professional and easy to work with. They always arrived on time and did a high quality job. They finished the job when they said it would be done. They were straightforward and gave me all the facts beforehand, so that nothing was a surprise along the way.

    Spectrum Pool & Spa Care
The technician called me back within the hour and told me they couldn't but he gave me the name of another company that he though could help me. I really appreciated the call back and the referral since I've been calling around for a year and no one has ever called me back!
This company is very professional and knowledgeable.

    Aqua Care
We moved in to our house in February and were eager to try out the spa.  However, the pool/spa heater was not working.  Aqua Care was the 2nd company to come out and evaluate our pool heater.  The first company told us that the heater cannot be fixed and we needed to replace it - around $2,000.  Then Raul from Aqua Care came and told us that our heater is a workhorse of the industry, it just needed a bit of cleaning and maintenance to get it working again.  It took him a couple of hours and the heater has been working great since then, and it only cost us $200.

    Brookside Pool Service
I used Brookside for a little over 2 years to clean my pool and maintain the chemistry on a weekly basis. The owner came out, impressed me with his obvious expertise and I signed based on that and the Angieslist rating. Our pool technician was a very affable guy, but did not appear very knowledgeable nor focused. The times we saw, or rather heard him, he was chatting non-stop on his cellphone while working, and about once a month we'd find a strainer bucket left out by the pool, chemicals that he had forgotten to take with him, and a couple of times chlorine tablets that he had left on the patio - forgetting to put them in the chlorinator. About a dozen times during the 2 year period he missed his weekly visit entirely and we had to call to get him to come out. Things really became progressively worse over the last 8 months. Three times we came home to find the pool 40% discolored or covered with algae as a result of him missing his appt or improper maintenance. Rick, their specialist came and said that the amount of chlorine added to the pool needed to be increased and then a few months later so much chlorine had been added by the technician that an acid condition developed. Rick came out again and said he would address the problem, but the technician did not seem to communicate with them as the problems persisted, and the technician actually asked me if I wanted chlorine to be added. I didn't have a clue and had no idea why he had asked my opinion. A couple weeks later the technician had not shown up once again so I called the office and spoke with Geri, who first assured me that he had been to my property, even though there was a batch of debris on the bottom of the pool that hadn't moved in over a week. Then she said she'd would have to get a new technician because he was causing too many problems. And then an hour later she called me back to say that he'd be out again the following week. At this time I reminded her of all the hassles we had experienced over the last 2 years and asked if she could have someone come out to treat the pool before then. She gave me an emphatic no and then suggested that she wasn't interested in having me as a client. Fair enough. I might recommend them for specific repairs if it involves the principals. Not to a sub-contracted technician.
I am adding a postscript, after having read the response of Geri Brooks, the owner. I have never and quot;talked down or cursedand quot; their pool cleaner, nor to anyone else for that matter. I am a retired businessman who knows nothing about pool chemistry. I have never and quot;insistedand quot; that the pool be dealt with in a certain way. I only contacted their office when we would come back from a trip and find 30% of the pool covered with large algae-looking stains, or when we would want to use the pool on some weekend and the pool contained a mess of debris and organic discolorations because the technician had not shown up for two weeks. It is offensive for a company to try to dissemble their incompetence by slandering a former client. Rather than waste my time or the time of potential Angieslist customers with an elaborate post mortem analysis, let me just note these two facts: I have owned this pool for over fifteen years and Brookside is only the second company I had hired up till that time, so it should be obvious that I am accustomed to long term professional relationships. And the new company we hired to replace Brookside, in only 3 weeks, has adjusted the pool chemistry to perfect conditions, something that Brookside was unable to accomplish in as many months. Caveat Emptor.

The estimate went well. They had the best prices. The workers were fast and, for the most part, professional. There was a bit of plaster-water poured into the garden. This was a bit annoying. The Neighbor also got annoyed because the plaster water leached into his yard and, he claimed, killed his plants (though they were on their way to their death anyway). The crew did leave some fast food wrapper in the back yard. There are also a couple of mildly rough places in the plaster. Swimcon did have the best price though; good communication from start to finish.
