House Cleaning reviews in Downey

    Amy's Angels Cleaning Inc.
I was looking to do a deep house cleaning on my house and after looking at reviews settled on Amys Angels. Their price seemed a little high but I was alright with that because I was looking for great professional service. I did not want to hire just a cleaning lady. I wanted to deal with a professional established company. Setting up the date and time took a few phone calls from me because responsiveness was not always good but we managed to get an appointment set. The day of the appointment Erica and her one helper showed up on time which I thought was good sign. Unfortunately, I was very wrong. After showing the two young ladies what areas I wanted cleaned, they got to work. About one and a half hour in (I had paid for three hours), they told me they were almost done, so I began inspecting their work as the lady in their office had suggested I do. I found a half done job. For example, the microwave was cleaned at the bottom but not the sides or top. The baseboards were not cleaned, the dining room chairs were not dusted, the floors were not thoroughly swept, etc. I had to point out so many things that should be done in a basic cleaning that had not been done that I felt I was giving directions to my teenage son on how to properly clean his room. I finally gave up when they were ready to leave again without vacuuming. I asked why they hasnt vacuum and their response what that they did not have a vacuum cleaner. I loaned them mine and then let them go half an hour early. Before they left Erica gave me her personal phone number to call her directly if I wanted to establish a regular cleaning appointment. The following day which was a Saturday I sent an text to the company with pictures letting them know how unhappy I was with my first experience with their service. The lady that responded to my text said the managers where not in on the weekend but would get back to me during the week. By Tuesday, I not received a call so I called them and explained what had happed. The lady I spoke to said they would look into it and call me back. They never did. Instead they sent me a text insulting my integrity and claiming the I had behaved unethically by requesting to work directly with their cleaner bypassing the company; therefore, they were not comfortable sending another team to my house. Thats what their cleaner had told them had happened. Really???? If I had done that, why would I call the company to complain about their cleaners service??? Also I take security very seriously and have cameras installed inside and outside my home. I have video of what I was claiming happened. They never bother to call me back to discuss. I paid for three hours of cleaning and got two and a half hours of bad service.

    MaidThis! Cleaning Service
It was fine. He came 2 hours later but it was alright. They didn’t contact me and I ended up having to contact Angie’s List to find out what’s going on. They could have been on time and whatever it was that they used to clean the floor was really sticky and it left the floor sticky. They didn’t even contact me to let me know that they were going to be late.

I didn't like the job they did so I hired somebody else. I wasn't happy at all with them. They are really expensive. The quality was good. It was just this last time, they sent me somebody and it was terrible that's why I won't use them again. I don't know how they would have done if I would have complained.

    Quality Carpet Cleaning Inc
I purchased the cleaning service. On my second call the lady in the office told me that all extras would be determined when the crew came out. She also said the certificate was only for a certain amount of space and the cost would increase. I had no idea what to expect so I never scheduled.

Here is my review...I've copied the message I sent to them via Angie's List because this is how we made contact and our initial appointment. The work was done on a Friday in less than three hours. I had to leave so I did not have a chance to do a walk thru prior to them leaving. By the way they are a nice couple. But in my humble to be opinion, it seems they are mostly interested in getting first time business to validate the higher cost than they are at maintaining repeat business. Here is my message to them that was sent two days after the service. It's been three weeks and I have yet to receive a response. 5/12/2014 Hello? I wanted to give you all feedback regarding my housecleaning on this past Friday. I paid $150 for the first time visit with the understanding of it being a detailed cleaning; one request being that all my window sills were cleaned. However, that was not done and there were several areas not dusted at all including portions of the bathroom countertop, my bedroom dresser and living room table to name a few; my new closet mirrors were left with several water streaks; the bathroom mirror was not wiped down at all. Unfortunately, I was not there when you all left to do a final walk-thru and in good faith left the money in hopes that the job would have been complete. Please let me know when would be a good time for you to come back and complete the job or for some other arrangements.

*edit 04/04/2014* Wow. I'm thoroughly impressed with your response. So impressed in fact that I'm willing to try Quality Carpet Cleaning again. I've yet to receive the refund, but have no doubt that it is indeed forthcoming. Based on your response, I've upgraded my grade to a 'C'. Again, it's for your companies response to my less than stellar experience rather than the initial service itself. I'm hopeful that my next interaction with Quality Carpet is more like my experiences previous to the one I reviewed below. All the best and thank you again. Darrin Mason

I resisted posting this review because I didn't want to post a negative review of what I thought was a good faith effort despite the not so quality results. After being literally hounded by both Angie's List via phone and the vendor via email over the last several months, I finally relented. Here is my experience. The woman who cleaned my carpet was both friendly and punctual. The first problem was that she was almost exclusively Spanish speaking, while I am exclusively monolingual. Through what I thought were passable hand gestures, I explained (or attempted to explain) that my vacuum cleaner had broken (two weeks earlier)and asked if she had a vacuum cleaner. With he combination of my shedding dog and my boisterous infant son, the floor was definitely in need of vacuuming pre-cleaning. As I realized that I should have notified Quality when I scheduled, I was definitely willing to reschedule in the event that she did not have a vacuum cleaner available. She indicated that she did and I went to my garage workshop to let her work unimpeded. After about 30 minutes I came out of the garage to look things over and grab a glass of water. I let her up sale me on an additional $25.00 treatment that I admit that I wasn't entirely sure what it was supposed to do (other than improve the treatment). It was then I noticed that she had run the wet hose attached to the cleaning machine over our area rug, getting it a little dirty. Admittedly, I don't know how else she could have gotten the hose to the stairway and second floor of our home and that I should have considered this and folded the large area rug out of the way prior to the cleaning but it kind of bugged me nonetheless. At the conclusion of the cleaning, the woman attempted to impart some tips about care of my carpet before she left, but I really didn't get the gist of what she was saying. It was only after she left and the carpet dried (about 18 hours later) that I noticed that the floor had not in fact been pre-vacuumed and in fact looked worse than before the cleaning occurred. Not only that but she decoupled one of the hoses from my brass dual spigot (the one attached to my garden's self-watering system), left the water off and the hose decoupled, all without my permission. While extremely pleasant and seeming very hardworking, I got the impression that she was quite new and could have used additional training or on site supervision. Despite Quality's excellent price, I would not use them again or recommend them to a friend. Two days later, I bought a new vacuum and had the carpet cleaned properly (although at a bit more than twice the price). This time I knew enough to fold the area rug!

We've been using Smart House Cleaning for about 5 months, and we're very happy with their service. I've been waiting to write a review because I wanted to ensure there was consistency in service and performance, but there definitely is. Upon my first call, Andrea came to the house to look over the scope of the work so that she could quote ongoing service. This took all of 15 minutes, and she wrote me several quotes depending on the frequency of cleaning we wanted.
The first cleaning is a deep cleaning which takes several hours and costs a little more, but it's worth it.
They've been very patient with us in accommodating an acceptable time to come every three weeks. We both work and it has been difficult to find a time that works. Apparently they have many clients who give them keys and/or alarm codes, but we are not comfortable with that so it makes it more complicated. They completely respect the fact that we're not comfortable with that.
The same two girls show up every three weeks, which is nice. They are many times sitting outside when we arrive, simply because they have completed their previous cleaning assignment early. They vacuum, dust, and mop all floors (we have wood). They scour both the kitchen and bathrooms. We love it because we loathe doing that and now we don't have to do it (as often anyway). They bring their own equipment and cleaning supplies. They are efficient and have the routine down to a science. If there are special cleaning requests, it will cost a little more. Also, make sure the requests are understood clearly, as there can be a slight language barrier.
I highly recommend Smart House Cleaning!

    Liz House Cleaning Service
Everything went quite well. The crew received instructions as to what I needed cleaning and they performed the job extremely well. They worked tirelessly to do the job efficiently, proficiently and professionally. Instructions were only verbalized once and they did everything according to instructions. I was really pleased with every detail of their cleaning skills. Job well done.

    House Cleaning by Alexandra
They come twice a month I like them, they are quite thorough. They move furniture and vacuum under cushions and all of that. The one thing I don't like is that they don't have an exact time, I have a day but I never know until the evening before exactly when they are going to come. I think the price is very fair.
