    Oak Plumbing Inc
We had another company do leak detection for us and hired Oak Plumbing to do the fix. It turned out the leak detection company was wrong about the exact nature of the leak. Oak plumbing came out and helped use nail down which pipe was leaking and capped it off. They worked within our limited budget and figured out how to reroute plumbing from our bathroom upstairs to replace the pipe to the Kitchen that we had to cap. They did a great job giving us options and even worked within out budget!

    ACM Plumbing
Every experience that I have had with ACM Plumbing has been exceptional.  The owner and service technicians all seem to take a tremendous amount of pride in their work.  They are quick to respond, and in addition to reasonable prices they always seem to put the best interest of the customer first.  They do not try to upsell unwanted or unneeded services the way that many service companies do.

    Elite Plumbing
Saved us from having to tear out a wall! Shower was continually dripping and Bill was unable to remove the cartridge nut on a very old shower. He was was able to saw off the old nut (carefully), replace parts and gave us a new handle and retaining nut.
This is the second time I have called Bill for a plumbing problem. He previously replaced a leaking kitchen faucet, and found and repaired an exterior water pipe leak.
Bill is responsive, does a good job and he's now our go to plumber in the Dixon area.

    Water Heaters Only, Inc
I was very pleased with the service from this provider. The installer was fantastic and very professional. He also braced up the water heater stand on his own without my asking and the overall job came out looking great. They had confirmed the appoinment a couple days prior and again that morning and showed up a few minutes early. He gave a good explanation of what he had to do and how long it would take.
It has been a couple of months now and the Water Heater is woking perfectly and with the added 10 gallons of water over the old water heat we never run out of hot water.  I would not hesitate to use them or recommend their services.

    Reid Construction & Maintenance
I needed a hole cut in the first floor ceiling of my home to expose slight leaky plumbing on the top floor. Benjamin Reid came out on a Saturday and did the work quickly and at a great rate. When I completed the plumbing work his associate returned to patch up the hole. The result was terrific. He matched the texture of the existing drywall perfectly. He's a Michelangelo of drywall ceiling work. I will definitely use Reid Construction again.

    Jake's Plumbing

Jake and his assistant did the work I requested, quickly and neatly. The leaking toilet was fixed and the new one installed, and I see no evidence of any further leaking. I would use him again.

However, Jake did not supply me with an itemized invoice at the time of service, although I feel his fee was fair. Nor did he supply an invoice at a later date, which he said he would do. The new toilet did not come with a seat, so I asked him to order one, knowing he'd know exactly what would fit. He said he'd have the seat in a day or two. When nothing happened after two days, I called and was told they had the seat, but offered no idea when they might deliver it. Haven't heard from him since (two weeks), so I've gone out to get my own seat.

To summarize: Jake's Plumbing did good work, but his follow through leaves something to be desired.

    Jake's Plumbing
He came to my home right as he scheduled, was very pleasant, and seemed knowledgeable about all operations. Work was done carefully and quickly. He did not leave a mess, and did no damage to my new flooring. It was a pleasure having him doing my work. I would be happy to use him again in the future.

We had one toilet that would not flush--the water level rose to the brim of the bowl and then took a couple hours to go back down--and a bathtub with a very slow drain. This morning we called Plumbing Doctor and were given a time frame of 10am -12 noon; the plumber showed up at 10:10. He covered his shoes before entering the house, went to look at the two jibs that needed doing, and then gave us a quote: $250.00 (note: this seemed reasonable to us, but we have never had to hire a plumber before and cannot be sure if the flat rate $125 for each job is good or not.)
Both jobs took about 30 minutes and the toilet now works and for the first time I can actually hear water going down the drain.
The plumber was considerate, professional, and cleaned up after he was done. I certainly have no complaints, and will use them again if the need arises.

Same Day Service Plumbing, Heating & Air Inc.
Arrived at the end of the stated time frame due to traffic.
He started out well--putting on booties to protect carpet/floors, assessed the situation and informed me of what he thought the problem was and how he was going to fix it.  He then stated that he was going to write out an estimate and be back.  HE SAT IN HIS TRUCK, in front of the house, FOR 30 MINUTES.  It could NOT have taken 30 minutes to write up the estimate he showed me!  I wouldn't of been so upset if he had at least stated a time frame of when I could expect him back. He brought in a shop vac to deal with the water in the drain--it began making a horrific noise and smoked up the kitchen with a horrible electric smell.  It took two hours to complete the job, finally leaving the house at 7:30PM!!!

    Altec Construction, Inc
My Mother-In-Law had just arrived the night before. I jumped out of bed and put a load of laundry in our GE clothes washer, then jumped in the shower. By the time I got out there was an inch and a half of water on the floor upstairs and the ceiling was leaking in the library downstairs.
After the flood recovery company had demolished our library and a good chunk of the second floor, I felt like Tom Hanks in the Money Pit. Fortunately, the guest room where she was staying, the Master bedroom and the kitchen were all still livable.
My insurance company recommended Altec Construction, Inc. They told me I could use whoever I wanted, or do it myself. But my adjuster liked Altec because he doesn't get complaints later. I wanted my house back the way it was as soon as possible, and I didn't have the skill to match texturizer. So I took the advice, and I'm so glad I did.
Our foreman, Calvin, did his best to work with our schedule and get the work done as quick as possible. Most important, it's as if nothing ever happened. He made things better than they were before the flood. The quality of work was such that I couldn't tell work had been done. They did their best to match the carpet we had put in before. If anything, it's more comfortable to walk on than the other carpet in the house. I couldn't be happier with their work. After they said they were done there was only one small patch were the texturizer had sagged. Calvin came out and fixed it himself, and it's perfect now.
Even though I was only responsible for my deductible, I still asked how much things cost. I found them to be very competitive with other quotes I'd got. But even if they were more, the quality of work would be worth it.
If we ever decide to remodel, especially if it's beyond my abilities, I'll be using Altec.
