    Horizon Construction & Remodeling Inc
We wanted to remodel for a long time. Had interviewed several contractors. We didnt know anyone here. When we met David from Horizon we felt safe. He understood our vision and helped us clarify it. We liked that Horizon is 1 stop destination with a showroom, this is truly helpful in this process. We chose David Eskin with Horizon Construction and Remodeling, Inc. to and it turned beautiful. We Loved All horizon workers. We had few communication glitches but those were resolved right away. David did a great job keeping his cool and listening to all our questions and concerns and was on top of it right away ready to explain and resolve. My only feedback will be in this area - to try and explain the clients more so less questions will arise. Overall we are very satified with our new kitchen and 2 new bathrooms and recommend Horizon construction and remodeling in Fullerton CA to others !

    Armstrong Roofing Ltd
I had Ernie do my roof around 25 years ago. I am a rather picky individual and Armstrong satisfied all my issues quickly and directly. They left the place clean and did things I had not expected such as put on cement tiles over my ridge vents as opposed to composite shingles--an added bonus.

    Build For You
I purchased BD on 9/14/15. On 09/15/15 he sent email and requested phone number which In had already included in my first email on 09/14/15. However I went on and resubmitted my phone number via email. 09/18/15 I re emailed him back to state that I had not received any schedule for the service. 09/20/15 he responded to my email to let me know that they were very busy and it would be 3-4 weeks before he could contact me for a schedule. 10/05/15- I emailed him back and ask could we at least set a date up for the 3- 4 weeks  out. I never heard back from him

    Brea Roofing

Justin was on time for the estimate.  He was very professional and knowledgeable.  He provided many recommendations.  I did not get the impression that he was out to upsell any services.  When trying to decide on the type of shingle we wanted, Justin provided addresses of other jobs his company had done in order to make our decision easier.

Brea roofing did a great job with the roof itself.  The roof looks beautiful and there was minimal debris left after the work was completed.

The reason for the low rating is due the poor follow through on issues that arose.  A roofing job is large and complex with many possibilities for unforeseen problems.  We had 2 issues.

First issue was in the back patio where the roof meets a lattice patio.  While providing the estimate, Justin commented on the fact that the transition between the old roof and the patio was done correctly.  No gap was left between the two and there was never any leaking.  After completion on the new roof by Brea Roofing, a 2 inch gap was left between the patio and roof.  When the gap was brought to Justin?s attention, he promptly sent out a crew member to remedy the issue.  Problem is, the remedy is not effective.  The space between the roof and the patio leaks streams of water.  When brought to Justin?s attention, he brushed it off indicating that he is not surprised, claiming it would be impossible to seal effectively and basically implying there is nothing that can be done.  This is the same gap he had previously praised during the estimate of having been done correctly by the previous roofers.

The second issue was with a broken front panel siding board on the outside front of our home.  Our home has approximately 10 inch by 6 feet wooden panels on the front exterior.  Justin?s demolition crew appear to have pulled one of the boards back in order to remove some of the old roof?s flashing.  In doing so, the board cracked considerably where the board was nailed to the framing, also leaving a 2 inch diameter hole where the board was nailed.  The board itself was left a little askew.  When I contacted Justin regarding the damage, he indicated it was probably just some old bondo from a previous repair that fell out as a result of all the banging.  Keep in mind, he was able to determine this from a picture I sent him.  I know carpentry.  I come from a long line of carpenters.  The damage was not as a result of old bondo falling out.  Justin did promptly send out a crew member to fix the issue.  The carpenter straightened out the board, filled the gap with bondo, and painted the board with white primer.  Our house is yellow, now we have a large white board at the front of our house, less than aesthetically appealing to say the least.  Furthermore, the cracks on the damaged board have reappeared.  As of today, we have a new roof.  However, we also have a white board facing the front street with 2 sizable visible cracks.

It has been about 2 to 3 weeks since I?ve last heard from Justin.  I've given him time hoping he would take responsibility for the damage and make things right.  I have sent him various texts with pictures of the damage.  I requested that he come out and inspect the damage so that it can be remedied.  I even told him I would repair the gap between the back patio and roof.  I told him I did expect the damage to the front board be repaired.  As of yet, Justin at Brea Roofing has not replied to my communication attempts since the board was painted white.  No further effort has been made to correct the damage.  When I was able to speak with him last (2-3 weeks ago), he was more interested in making excuses for the damage than taking responsibility.

Next step for me is to get an estimate for the repair, then pursue damages through small claims court.  Would I recommend Brea Roofing?  No.  Not due to the work they did on the actual roof because that actually looks really nice.  I?ve had 2 nearby residents walking by make positive comments about it in this last month alone.  When asked by them if I would recommend Brea Roofing, I unfortunately told them no, due to the issues above.  Word of mouth is very important.  Unfortunate for Brea Roofing, they?ve already lost two potential customers from me alone.  In my opinion, there are many other roofers out there willing to do the job.  Why take a chance on a company that will not follow through on repairing damage they caused.

If you are interested in seeing pictures of the completed roof and or damage, you can email me at exs3827@lausd.net.  I would be happy to share them with you.

    James B Robertson Inc
The company did a great job.  It was over 100 degrees all 3 days they were there & I made sure they had plenty of water.  Very hard working crew & very nice.  I was very pleased.  My neighbor across the street also got a new roof & another neighbor had some repairs.  Just passed his card on to another neighbor.

    Above It All Roofing, Inc
Above It All Roofing did an outstanding job. They started on a Monday (Jan 5, 2015) and first they power washed the tile roof, removing 30 years of dirt. They then cleaned out the rain gutters.  We were told this would take 4-5 days to pull off the tile, repaper and reinstall the old tiles.  The job was done by Wednesday afternoon, January 7, 2015.  Keep in mind they removed all of the tiles, removed the old (what was left) felt paper, replaced some facia boards and clap boards, layed down two layers of 30-lb felt paper, re-installed the tiles, and cleaned up the place; all in 3 days. Some of the tiles were cracked or damaged during removal. Above It All Roofing replaced those tiles, and placed them in areas so that they could not be seen from the street (these tiles looked newer than the tiles we already had) Now, if there is a down side, it centers on the dirt from the roof after it has been power washed. We essentially had to sweep and wash down our pool area our patio areas, our walk ways, and drive way to get the sand and grit out of the yards.  But, hey the whole job came out great. The roof looks new and we have had lots of compliments from the neighborhood.  Also no more roof leaks !!

    Above It All Roofing, Inc
David was very professional and appeared to know what he was talking about.  Asked for repair to three areas of our tile roof.  The estimate came back at $10,000 which was "out of line" with the work proposed.  Two other companies bid on the exact work and came in considerably lower.  We selected another company and the cost was $2,500.  The work has now been completed and we could not be happier.  Not ceretain why the estimate was so high?

    Tafoya Roofing
Hector and Marcos made the established appointment on 1/3/15.  They inspected the roof and advised of the work that needed to be done and how they would approach the work.  They stated they would send a proposal by email.  Two other potential providers inspected the roof and advised the same.  The other providers provided the proposals by email as promised.  Tafoya Roofing Inc. did not provide their proposal.  We contacted them by email and by phone requesting their proposal, but no response from them.
We selected one of the other proposals and the work is now scheduled to be performed.
Hector and Marcos appeared to know what they were talking about and it is too bad they have no follow up ethics.  This is not a case of misunderstandings, the call and the email requesting the proposal were clearly made.  I would not do business with this company simply because they did not follow through with their comittment.  One wonders if you have this much trouble just obtaining the promised proposal what type of follow through do they have once the job is started?

    Berry Roofing
They were wonderful! Their work was exemplary and their pricing was lower than others I got a bid with. My house was built in the 70’s and my original roof was tile with no plywood underneath. Since their work, my utility bills have gone 20-30%. In 7 years since they installed the new roof, I have only had one tile come off and they came out right away to fix it. I have nothing but praise for them. They are one the best contractors I've dealt with in my entire life!

    Above It All Roofing, Inc

Dave got up on the roof and looked it over and then called his partner up on the roof. They both looked it over and pointed out all the things that were wrong and that the roof needed to be replaced and could not be repaired.  We had already had another roofer look at the roof and told us the roof need some maintenance.  We just called Above It All Roofing Inc. because they got high ratings and we wanted a second quote for the work. After their quote we called a third ,Rexway Roofing, roofer who told us that the roof needed some maintenance work and it would extend the life of the roof for another 5 years or more. Needless to say I was disappointed in this company.
