All contacts were helpful, respectful and professional. I somehow missed a pre-visit call for installation but was luckily at home when technicians arrived.

When we found out I would be released to come home while still in a wheelchair, and my husband estimated  the cost of building a 21 foot ramp with a 90 degree turn himself, we decided to look into renting one.   We also looked on Craigslist for used ramps, but none listed would have met the particular requirements for getting into our house.  We had received a brochure from this company from the Physical Therapist at the Skilled Nursing Facility. My husband called Rampco on a  Friday, they came out and gave him an estimate on Saturday, and installed on Monday. It looks great, is very safe, and since it's on a month-to month rental, we will be able to have it removed when it is no longer needed.  While the rental did end up costing more than doing it ourselves, the estimated 3 month rental  will be less than the used ones on Craigslist, and as a special bonus, my husband didn't have to spend 3-4 days in the rain building it himself.  Worth every penny!

Each piece of wood was screwed  together and not nailed. I asked for steps to be constructed leading to my mini porch and it was immediately done.  They showed up to begin work promptly each day until the project was complete.  Overall the project was professionally done and it was a pleasant experience for me and my family.

I went to a medical supply store near my house and told them how desperate we were for repairs. The man there said he would check his schedule and call me about an appointment to come check the situation. I never heard from him. Later,on Monday, I checked Angie's list . Buried among the description of Pac West Elevator Co were the words and quot;chair liftand quot;. I called the company and told them how desperately we needed replacement wheels, and possibly, other repairs. Terri was most understanding. She said she could possibly send someone to check that afternoon. He came about 4PM and assessed the situation. He said he could order wheels from the company in the East US the next morning. Hopefully, they would send the wheels overnight. If they came Wednesday, he would return the afternoon, replace the wheels, and do some much needed maintenance. He came Wednesday evening, replaced the wheels, and cleaned out the tracks which contained the shredded wheel parts. Such fast service!!.. We were ready for company and Thanksgiving Dinner in time!!! I was so overwhelmed by the fast, efficient service, I forgot to tell Terri that I got their address and telephone number via Angie's List.

They arrived on time. They appeared to know the piece of equipment well. They were thorough in what they were doing. There was a "low battery" warning that was going off, and they repaired that. They seemed competent. They were courteous. The chair worked well before, and it is working well now.

We moved into a house with an elevator, which was something new for us. We weren't looking for a house with an elevator, but it's a cool bonus. The elevator worked for awhile until the day my wife got stuck inside. I was able to get her out, but the elevator didn't work after that. I called Pac West and talked to Carrie who was very nice and quoted me $175/hr for a service call. That sounded reasonable. Joe the technician was dispatched the next afternoon. He was ultimately able to ID the problem and repair it at a reasonable price. Joe was very thoughtful and friendly and explained the problem, how my elevator worked (because I had no idea, being a new elevator owner) and what kind of maintenance it would require. I highly recommend Pac West for home elevator repair.

Prior to the installation, I was searching for the right company for a year. I was disappointed with the options I contacted. The prices were all over the place. However, Pac West gave me a very good price. They were willing to answer my questions and handled the appropriate paperwork. They will return four times a year to ensure the lift is working properly. They were just wonderful to work with overall!

Run! Don’t walk! We recently purchased a home elevator from ACME Home Elevator, a division of Stannah in Franklin, MA. This was the most horrifying experience of our lives! From the very beginning, when the Salesperson was “too busy to come out to measure the job.” This resulted in a faulty order, which ACME flatly refused to fix unless we paid an additional $5,000.00! They repeatedly lied and refused to take any responsibility, treating us with contempt throughout the project. The only reason we stayed with them is because we had already put up a non-refundable deposit of several thousand dollars. From the Field Supervisor, to the Benicia, CA Branch Manager to the main Boss in Massachusetts, we were ignored or treated rudely. As an example, all of the above either never returned our calls or took weeks to get back to us, dragging the entire job out by months. We are successful business people and can assure that in all of the years we have operated & managed our businesses we have never encountered a more unprofessional staff as that of ACME Home Elevator.
