Home Builder reviews in Danville

  • I've known Blue Diamond Builders now for over 3 years. They were there when we were looking at land to buy and have been there through the planning and permit process. We are now working on the foundation of the house and I have been very pleased with how things are going. Jordan has a wealth of construction knowledge and Janae (project manager) has been amazing orchestrating all the different subcontractors and she really stays on top of everything. I've been really happy at how accessible Jordan and Janae are (I think I talk to Janae everyday!) and they communicate very well. They are both down to earth people, they are totally open and honest and show me all the bids/invoices. If you have certain subs or architects/engineers you want to use, they are happy to work with them. Looking forward to the next phases of our build with Blue Diamond Builders. If you are thinking of a remodel, addition, or custom home, I highly recommend them!

  • Mark Sappenfield is the owner of the company.  He is the most honest, trustworthy, hard-working contractor i have ever experienced.  His work product is excellent and he is constantly looking for ways to save costs on the project.  He consulted on the owner-build out of my home.  Then during the last few months, he completed the project as the general contractor.  Also, he has done other projects for me in the past, both commercial and residential and completed each project excellently.

  • I couldn't have asked for a better experience. His work is outstanding, on-time and on-budget. Despite a few "curve balls" from the owner (me), with changes to our original discussion of needs, and despite his own illness-Greg completed this job without any drama or delay. A terrific guy and knowledgeable, superior contractor. I would certainly hire him again, and highly recommend him for any sized project needed.

  • There are 4 men here and they are here everyday when they're supposed to be here.  I can't say enough about them.  They're doing a great job.  It's taking a while, but we're adding on 500 square feet.  They're doing a fabulous job.  They are punctual everyday.  They clean up after themselves and everything else.

  • It was a great company to work with. They accommodated my schedule and we meet after work.  It was a team effort with both Dean and his wife Sarah who I trusted right off from the start.  I found a company with personal touches and listened to what I wanted.  They even saved me money by suggesting a remint piece of granite.  The crew respected my house and were nice too.  They did have a slight issue when doing the plumbing.  The water supply line from the wall broke from previous work.  They quickly fix it and did not delay the project as they finished on time.

  • His professionalism/safety was terrible. Witnessed him on several occasions doing everything (texting, taking breaks and lunches for hours each day, socializing with passer byes, sitting on his tail gate drinking a six pack before getting in his truck to leave driving through a development filled with playing children), but not focusing on job getting complete in time frame given in estimate. He claimed he could do the work and not disrupt the satellite dish. Not only did his claim fail and cost me money to have it realigned, but he only used 2 out of 6 of the bolts used to secure the dish leaving the others sitting on my chimney. I have several dents in my front gutter work where he placed his ladder to obtain roof access. It took him over 7 months to place drain spouts (which he left in my planter beds) even in the poor manor he did that (I worked doing sheet metal for 4 years). He left several scraps/garbage that he pulled off original siding in my back and front yards. He still has left my electrical boxes outside unsecured (safety) to the building and just hanging for over 7 months. Instead of cutting a hole around water fixtures he just cut out chunks of the siding around them which adds to how unprofessional the overall job looks, and then pulls out his favorite tool, the caulking gun to fill in his lack of skills. Do yourself a favor, hire someone that follows through on their word and has consistent work as well as someone who can stay within a reasonable margin of his bid. You might save some money in thought but he will increase his needs as he goes and your out of pocket expenses will compete with the guy who will do a better, more efficient, and timely job. He passed the codes on the bottom end of the scale. Maybe if you just need someone to nail up a board use him, but I after my experience (still as of 4/2010 not done), I wouldn't hire him for the simplest of tasks. It is my belief he only obtained the job through the help of the HOA management woman who pushed to use him & I would not be the least bit surprised if she didn't get some sort of payment for lining him up with the job.
