Garage Door Repair And Installation reviews in Cypress

    Preferred Garage Door
I am happy with the outcome. Victor showed up on time and was able to identify and fix the issue in seconds flat, all without any crazy up-sell for equipment we don't need (which is what happened to us when we used a different company for a previous issue).

    Precision Overhead Garage Door Service
I used their service in 2014. I wrote this review then, but decided to be nice and not to post it. Well, I feel it necessary now to post it because the garage door opener they sold me has never worked correctly (even after they came out to "fix" it), and now it is flat out broken. I have no interest in contacting them again for the repairs because I fear they will just give me more poor service and faulty products. Not worth the time and frustration. I will call someone else this time. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. 2014 - Called for service when our garage door started to not open without a bit of a push from underneath. The experience began with the technician arriving 1.5 hours after our 2 hour scheduled time. No one called to tell me there was a delay, I only found out when I called myself to see where he was. I was then told that the springs and rollers needed to be replaced and that this would cost $585. I asked for a discount and he lowered the price to $420. After the springs and rollers were replaced, he calls me into the garage with "bad news". The motor is burned out. Did he not know this? I was told that the springs and rollers would fix my problem, now I'm going to have to shell out hundreds more for a new motor? He leaves, telling me to call when I am ready for the motor and says I will have to manually open and close the door. IT GETS WORSE. The next day, I go to leave for work and I can't budge the door. I have pulled the emergency release, it is completely disengaged and the door won't budge. So I call Precision Door svc again. Megan tells me that someone will be here within an hour. Needless to say, that hour comes and goes with not so much as a phone call. I call back and am told the technician will call me with an ETA. He calls and tells me it will be about an hour. So, here I sit, missing work because I can't get my car out and still no one is here. Avoid these people!

Even after I tried resetting our garage door motor (it has 20+ years of use so far), it still continued to close partway and then suddenly reverse direction, fully opening. Since I was not sure if repair was possible or we needed a new motor, I called Sunwest to have a tech come out. They gave me a time frame of when their tech would come out and also gave me a call to inform me that the tech was on his way on the day of my appointment. Their tech explained the different types of issues that can happen with Martin garage doors/motors (what I currently have) and gave me different repair options. Based on what he told me, I chose what I wanted to have done and asked him to write me up an estimate. He took measurements and gave a detailed estimate of the repair options I requested. At no point did I feel as if he was a hard sell or trying to steer me into replacing the motor (even though I asked him to include an estimate on what that would cost. I liked his transparency in trying to help me solve my problem which was getting the garage door working again. Rather than spend time calling up other garage door repair companies to get other estimates, I hired him on the spot. He did excellent work and thoroughly cleaned up afterwards. He also gave me good information on lubricants and where to lubricate the garage door for maintenance. [Update: 06/18/2018] A family member was backing a car out of the garage and ended up hitting one of the sensors with the left front tire, resulting in a bent bracket and the sensor being out of alignment with the opposing sensor. I made an appointment to have the bracket and/or bracket and sensor replaced. Once again, they gave me a time frame of when they'd be out and sent a text letting me know that their tech was leaving for my house. The same tech as before arrived. He checked the sensor that was hit to make sure that it wasn't damaged and ended up just replacing the bracket with our existing sensor. Since the amount of time between service calls (about 2 1/2 months) was rather short, even though there was absolutely no negligence on the company's part, the tech gave me a discount on their normal service charge (the final cost was $55). While I am grateful for the discount, I appreciate their professionalism, quality workmanship, and honest way of doing business.

    L & S Garage Door Services
We received the bid from them in a timely fashion. I can't remember the details off hand, but we decided to go with another provider. I think it was because L&S did not carry the brand that we were looking for.

    Sam's Garage Doors
Great! Mike called before he arrived, arrived when he said he would. Was professional and thorough. Recommended some changes to the door: New rollers. Changed out the rollers, tuned up the door, and it's quiet and like brand new! Very sensitive to my response when quoted the rollers, never pushed me to purchase. Said they would be glad to come back any time if I didn't want that service today. BE AWARE: your Tune-up is EXACTLY what is printed on Angie's List: A 21-point safety inspection, lubricating all moving parts on the door and opener (NOT THE TRACK), balancing and tightening. If there is something else wrong with your door, you will need to pay for the repair when the service man arrives.

The job went very well.  We had recently done some upgrades to the exterior of our home and our old, dented garage door was looking pretty shabby by comparison. We picked up a brochure at Costco's kiosk advertising garage doors and I scheduled an appointment for an estimate. C & W Garage Doors is the company that Costco has contracted with do garage doors in our area (Orange County). We also checked them out and were happy to see they had reviews on Angie's List. The company owner, Werner Wilke, actually came out to do the measuring/bid and show us the options, color samples, etc. He was very impressive in that he's done this type of work for many years and was very knowledgable.  We also obtained price quotes from another Angie's List company and from a third company who had recently installed a garage door for friends of ours.  After meeting Werner and doing some more research on garage doors/openers, we actually decided to go with him even though he was the highest price quote of the three. That's because we liked the quality of the Amarr doors and C & W also had three options for openers where the other companies only quoted us on the low-end opener. C & W carries a variety of quality levels of both doors and openers. We just happened to go with a higher-end product (double ply door with a steel back) that is VERY solid.

The gentleman that came out to do the installation was also very professional and thorough. After he finished he did a great  job cleaning up and also walked us through the care of our new door (i.e. what kind of lubricant to get and how to apply it) to keep it operating smoothly.

We are very glad we decided to go with C & W. Their door is far superior to what we had before and the opener (LiftMaster 8550 belt drive) is so quiet we can't even hear it inside the house. You can barely hear it inside the garage! Our old opener was so noisy it sounded like a grinder and you could hear it throughout our house when it opened or closed. We like the new insulated door because it keeps out a lot of street noise and it has a better seal so we don't get small leaves and other debris blowing under the
door like our old one. They also mounted the door rails to our garage roof rafters at our request because the cross beams were bowing. C & W was happy to do this at no extra charge, where the others charged extra. Very happpy with our purchase and we would definitely use them again.

Angel Garage Door Repair & Gate
I contacted a company called Angel Garage Door Repair & Gate but a company called Fix & Go showed up to do work. The technician that came out had no company attire on, there was no license plate on his car and he did a terrible job. The garage door slams shut when you close it. I contacted Angel Garage Door and there confirmed that the person who came out does work for them. The company was apologetic but did not make any offer to come out and fix the problem. I want to thank you for taking my call on Saturday and reassuring me that Fix & Go is an actual company that is contracted with you. This is the email that I sent to Angel Garage Door: The work was completed on Sunday, as the tech mentioned he would show up and do. I would appreciate it if you could provide me with a legitimate receipt other than what was left for us. Unfortunately, I'm not satisfied with the entire experience, here's why: __Appt was between 5p-7p and he showed up past 8 (not so bad since I got a call that he was behind schedule) __Drives up in a regular Sudan, no plates, no company logo on vehicle __Wears shirt inside-out, looks like a complete civilian __Company business card is very basic - no address, website (I'm not even sure if licensed, etc), pretty odd __Quality of work performed (see photo) __parks in the opposite direction in the front of my house Thank you for hearing me out on this experience. Sadly, I expected better service and quality. I hope that you can see why I feel that I got the short end of the stick with this entire experience.

    Avaunt Garage Doors Inc
A spring broke on our very old garage door. I took this as a sign that it needed to be replaced. Morgan came to the house shortly after I called and gave me a quote. The quote was reasonable and we decided to use Avaunt's services. Morgan fixed my spring while the new garage door was being ordered. Within a week, an appointment was made to install. The installers that completed the job were great. They were very friendly, helpful, and cleaned up after the job was finished. I would recommend Avaunt to anyone who has garage door needs.

    Golden Rule Garage Door
Taylor called ahead of time and asked if he could arrive earlier than the scheduled appointment (which was fine with me).  He quickly assessed my noisy door and fixed the issue.  While lubricating the various parts, he provided feedback on my opener and springs.  Taylor provided excellent service and I would not hesitate to call Golden Rule in the future to service my garage door opener or door.

    Sam's Garage Doors

Our old garage door was thin and had multiple dents from kids playing basketball outside.  The old door wouldn't even roll up with the remote.  Sam's garage doors came out and showed us the more durable products that they offered and were able to install the new door with in 5 days.  The man that came out the install the door was professional and cleaned up his mess.  Thanks!
