Hospital Care reviews in Culver City

  • It went terribly! They admitted my mom to the hospital and over the next 10 days, they made errors on her tests, got the medication wrong, served known allergic foods to her and had huge attitude problems when these things were brought to their attention. At one point, two hours after my 84 year old mother had returned from surgery, an attendant came in with a gurney to take her to a STRESS TEST! When I explained that she was obviously in no condition to take any kind of test, let alone a stress test and asked who ordered the test for my mom, the attendant yelled at me and said, "Don't you think her Cardiologist knows better than you?"
My mom doesn't have a Cardiologist. She has a Pulmonologist (for breathing problems). I refused to allow him to take her and finally, after hearing him yelling at me, the Charge Nurse came and found that the order was for a different patient!
Another time, the attendant came in with medications for my mom and (every time), I asked what it was that she was being given. Sometimes the staff was okay with that and sometimes they got an attitude. This time, I didn't recognize any of the meds the nurse read off, and then she looked back and said "Whoopsie!" and left the room!
We did this for 10 days while my mom was trying to recuperate. I stayed there by her bedside the entire time for fear that their slipshod and irresponsible actions might endanger her further.
If you have to go to Brotman, do not leave the side of your loved one!

  • We arrived at the ER and although it had several people there, they checked my Dad almost immediately. The check-in staff was okay...efficient, but not friendly. But the medical staff was wonderful and caring.
They did several tests on Dad and determined what was going on. They gave us recommendations and phoned his primary care physician and were even willing to speak on the phone with my daughter-in-law who is a doctor in San Diego.
I would recommend the Marina del Rey Hospital to anyone. They are professional, thorough and caring!

  • I've gotten excellent care there. All of it had been excellent. They are thorough, they are covered by my insurance plan, and the prescriptions that they have given had worked. They're fine.
