Hauling reviews in Culver City

  • Express Hauling is the best! They did a superb job with the demolition of drywall in my garage. I'll start from the beginning. I sent photos to Saul and he gave me a fair price quote via email. Saul and Jesus arrived on time and were very professional. They removed all the drywall and attached wooden shelving. They removed all the nails and sweep up all debris. They completed the job within the time frame they gave me and at the price I was quoted. I will definitely hire Express Hauling again!

  • Very smoothly. Ana responded fairly quickly to my inquiry through Angie's List. I then called to schedule and she was very responsive and easy to talk to. She was able to schedule me for the next morning since it wasn't a large job. She texted me so I'd have her cell, so we could communicate day of. The morning of the pick-up they were running a little late due to traffic so she texted me, and even so they still arrived within the 30-minute window we'd agreed on. They quickly removed the furniture. Payment was by credit card, and their rates were better than other providers. And yes, Ana does look like the cartoon girl on their logo.

  • I contacted Michael at 3pm and he showed up after beating rush hour traffic at 5pm and started working though 8:30pm non-stop finishing 90% of the work with only a street light (power was shut off). He returned the next morning finishing the rest. He raked the backyard so all the little pieces got picked up and also, I found more trash, rotten particle board and plywood on the side of the house, Michael took care of them also without additional charge. Very impressed by Michael's "can do" professionalism, honest, upfront about the cost and sticking to it. Hire him and you will be be totally happy with his work.

  • Service was excellent.  Could not beat the price.  The amount we had was larger than the offer, but for a little more, they took it all away (and it was well worth it).  They hauled away the whole pile of junk and even swept up the driveway before leaving. Would definitely recommend!

  • I also had a bit of trouble getting in touch with them. They were good at the deep cleaning however they completely forgot about a whole room in the house which I did ask them to clean. It was the dining room so it was not tucked away or hidden. Also they left the oven cleaner foam in the oven as they were preparing to leave when I found it. Of course they cleaned it right up. They did not seem comfortable or something with dusting things high up for example. It was ok but I suspect that is not what they are used to doing. So a rating of just above average.

  • I scheduled the junk removal service on-line and was able to get a next day appointment.  Junk-King called 15 minutes before arrival to let me know they were on their way and arrived as scheduled.  Angel and David did an excellent job of moving several large and heavy pieces of furniture out of my home without any scraped walls or other damage.  They were very professional and polite and it was a pleasure to do business with them.

  • No problems whatsoever.  They double checked with me as to what was to go.  They charged me based on how full the truck was.  Price seemed fair.  Workers were uniformly pleasant and competent.

  • The back door of our 85-year-old bungalow was sheltered by an overhang, with a heavy, tile roof on it. That overhang became separated from the side of the house, but remained suspended over the steps, supported by the vines of a robust creeping ficus plant.
Neither our local handyman, nor the gardeners who tend most of the street felt that dealing with it was within their comfort zone. We joined Angie?s List specifically to find someone to take care of this for us. The posting for Wayne?s Junk Removal included both hauling and light demolition, so that was our first call.
Communicating with Wayne was easy. He came out to assess the situation that Saturday and, early Monday morning, e-mailed us a quote for doing that job and some light hauling. We scheduled the job for the following Monday. Before then, however, Wayne scheduled a site visit with one of the men who works with him, so they could discuss the best way of approaching the task.
The result of the preparation was that, when the team of three men and two trucks arrived on Monday, there was no shouting, no drama, just removal of the overhang as efficiently as possible.
There was some further work that Wayne felt was related to the task, which he proposed taking care of for no additional fee. They did clean up afterwards, as well. The job took less time than I had anticipated, so I still had a little more of the extra stuff that needed hauling to bring out. Wayne?s attitude was ?Take your time.?
My feeling throughout was that he treated us the way he would like to be treated and did the job for us in the manner he would have wanted it done for him.
The team approached the planning with seriousness, they did the job effectively, and the money aspects were handled in a straightforward manner. Their attitude toward us, toward each other and toward the job itself was consistently positive. I would definitely recommend using Wayne?s Junk Removal.

  • It was fine. We thought that they were very hard working and a very good company. They ended up working longer but we paid more for their time. The only thing they didn't do well is that they weren't good at navigating, they got lost. The y couldn't find the stores facility. Pricing was average.

  • I absolutely loved working with Conrad and Del Mar Landscaping.
We had a dingy, dark front yard with a dead lawn and very much wanted to replace it with a low-water alternative. I did not know much about landscaping or plants so I spoke to several providers to see who might best help us through the process. Some providers clearly wanted to promise me the moon (at a very high cost), and others seemed uninterested in our modest budget and many questions. When Conrad came out I was very impressed with his no-nonsense attitude and ability to answer my concerns regarding what our yard would support with the amount of light it received. He listened to what we wanted to do and was quick to send a very reasonable estimate.
Because he was in high demand it took a while to schedule him, which was fine with us as we were not in a rush. As we waited for our scheduled work week we asked him to send a written design. He does not normally do that, but he was willing to oblige and sent over a list of plants we might enjoy as well as a preliminary layout. It really helped jump-start the conversation and helped my husband and me visualize how the yard might look. I sent a number of emails to Conrad with questions and he always responded to them thoughtfully and completely. (Not always quickly, as he was very busy, but as I said we had some time to work with and the responses were always in enough time.)
When work began, on the first day Conrad did not come himself but sent his 3-man crew for demo. Crew leader Abel was very gracious and they took out two overgrown schefflera trees and did complete cleanup of all branches. I had to leave for work, but was very comfortable leaving my home key with them so they could wash up.
On the second day they removed all the old dirt and roots and put down new dirt. And on the third day, Conrad joined the crew and they planted everything and put down pavers and decomposed granite. I raced home from work at lunchtime and Conrad worked with me to place the pavers and the plants before planting. We both were just winging it from his basic design but when I arrived home that evening everything was done and the area was clean and tidy. It all happened very quickly and my husband and I are very happy.
The only downside became an upside: as the crew cut down the tree, a falling branch broke the head off a lamppost in the yard. I asked if Conrad would allow me to take a replacement cost off the final bill, and he agreed readily.
Would I work with Conrad again? Yes! Would I recommend him to you? Yes!
