  • I was supposed to have my appointment on the 9th but the doctor ordered the wrong tests. The nurse, on the 9th, destroyed my paper work even though I told her I needed it. I couldn't find my EKG paperwork and she had already shredded it. I have a major surgery on hold now because of the nurse who didn't take the time to do her job correctly. I have done everything I could to locate the paperwork; and they haven't been really helpful. Now I am having to wait for my surgery because I can't undergo surgery until the EKG is re-done. Every time I call I get routed incorrectly or get told I called the wrong place. I will not be using them again.

  • Now that they got their system upgraded, they are very good now, but I try to use the mail order pharmacy as much as possible because it is so convenient. They are nice and courteous and they are as prompt as they could be because they are lot of us going in there.

  • You don't find that at other places where you can email your doctors. I did go online to my account and I would email my doctor whatever issues I have and then within 24 hours, I will get a response from her staff or from her. Overall, they are so convenient. There are so many facilities. You don't have to go the ER, you can see a doctor on the same day and even on Sundays.

  • Blue Cross & Blue Shield covers massage therapy for that is the reason why I switched for one year because that those services would be covered and I thought something that cost me much more to switch, but the other co-payments that came with it and the assistance that they showed and that they didn't even help me find a provider, I had to do all the work myself and I actually tried to research it before I find it and the way that they answered the question or someone who doesn't know how as far as billing, so I would never go back to Blue Cross. They don't give you a clear answer and they didn't help me find another provider that could give me my rheumatoid arthritis treatments, I had to find the facility myself, but they couldn't help me find a facility. It is horrible.

  • I have no complaints. They are pretty quick and professional. If I need something done, I can just go and ask them, and I will get the referral and done. I went for a follow-up after the surgery and they wanted me to come for a rehab, but I have been 100%.

  • I've been using Anthem Blue Cross for several years as my insurance provider and I've been happy with their HMO plan. Good customer service and documentation of visits and price breakdown. I do think insurance companies can do more to keep doctors price in check, though. Even a follow-up appointment seems way overpriced (a 10 minute visit is well over a hundred dollars?). This kind of stuff just makes health care very pricey.

  • United Healthcare has been great through my mothers care. Everything pertaining to her care has been covered with minimal out of pocket expense on our part. We were able to use any doctor that we wanted with out hassle. In addition they have been very helpful over the phone on a number of occasions (like when we couldn't find her card.) From hospitalization, to follow-up visits and care, to prescriptions they have been great and no hassle. I would highly recommend United Health Care!

  • To begin with my mom was scheduled to have surgery three times and it was canceled all three times for no apparent reason. Each time she was put on a very restricted diet and as a result she lost a lot of weight. By the fourth time she had contracted an extremely contagious digestive infection. As a result they were then unable to perform the surgery. They sent her home without the critical medication that she needed because she was contagious (not because she was well). As a result she was taken back by ambulance a few days later. She again was put on a very restricted diet and waited (and waited for surgery). In the meantime she got sicker and sicker. After surgery we were informed that all went well. It wasn't until days later that we found out that the growth that they removed (that didn't resemble cancer) was in fact cancer. In addition during the surgery no one bothered to check on the nylons they put on her and it became a turnicut on her leg and caused a number of blood clots in her leg. This required further surgery and she is still waiting for the swelling to go down and having to take dangerous blood thinners for.
