    SOD Builders
Luxcess Home by SOD Builders is by far the most professional home improvement company that I have ever dealt with or even hired! A truly pleasure people to have at my house. The remodeling project that they did at my house was completed in a timely manner. Before we started the work, we told Avi that we have a small timeframe for the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms remodeling because we will move out from our current house very soon and there for we have to move in to the new house that we just purchased. The total time we had was 10 weeks including the moving. Avi promised us that everything will be ready by that time and he did kept his promise! The complete remodeling work made our house like a complete brand new one and we will absolutely hire them again!

    Brians Custom Painting
Very poorly.  My 81 year old mother found Brian's company in some newspaper.  She contacted Brian to complete the two rooms of painting along with small drywall patches.  I was with my mother and Brian when they agreed upon the $800 price for this painting and drywall repair.  After the agreement I looked to leave and as I was walking out I heard Brian say to my mother "I can make this place look like Beverly Hills with crown molding..."  Long story short, Brian talked my mother into having him install crown molding around the ceiling of 1 living room, as well as 3 doors and a door bell chime.  In total Brian ended up charging my mother $1,700 for the crown molding in this one room.  My rough estimate is that this living room is only about 21 feet by 15 feet.  My mother ended up giving Brian $500 as a down payment before the work started.  My mother thought the total cost would be $2,000 but toward the end of the project Brian said she still owed $2,000.  Not wanting to make an uncomfortable situation, while also wanting to trust Brian because I was not with my mother, my mother paid all of the additional $2,000 to Brian before he finished the work.  Brian did not provide any contract or receipts.  By the time I returned to my mother’s home Brian had cleaned up and gone.  Beyond the concerns with Brian talking my mother into expensive crown molding, the actual quality of Brian work is very poor.  The crown molding is crooked. Instead of buying whole pieces of crown molding to run the length of the room, Brian pieced together random sizes of boards ranging from about 1 inch to a couple feet.  The lines of these multiple boards are not flush.  There are also large gaps, in places, between the crown molding and the ceiling where there should be no gaps.  The painting was also poor.  Brian was intent on getting the work done in one day.  This resulted in him applying Spackle (drywall repair compound) on the wall and then painting over the Spackle before the it had dried.  Now the Spackle-repaired spots have shrunk and bled through the paint, leaving very obvious marks.  We do not want Brian to come back into the home to try and repair this work.  Instead we want to be reimbursed for the $1,700 charge for the crooked crown molding.  We will just leave the $800 charge for the painting as is, even though there is a lot more work yet to be done to undo Brian’s poor work.

    Artistic Solutions
He showed up daily on time.  When I called him he answered!!  Cleaned the areas he worked in immediately.  The work us excellent and uniformed.  You could tell the union trained him well.  It was ahead of schedule and I received credit to my project costs.  Its always nice to get money back.  He was professional, and communicated the process to a tee.  It was easy to work with him, and trust was built.  Thank you Eddie.

    Frankie's Construction and Restoration
Our quest to have some remodeling done on our home began in April 2013, Frankie's Construction and Design was one of the bidding contractors. Frank is a very likable person, certainly seemed qualified and from the reviews on Angie's list, we decided to use Frank and his team for our refurbishing.

At the beginning of June we had Frankie's Construction and Design replace our kitchen counter tops with granite and replace our old florescent light box with recessed lighting. The work started on time and completed on time. However, the counter top seams were not done as well as expected. We brought the inferior workmanship to Frank's attention, and he indicated he would come back and improve the seams and polish out the granite counter tops.

At this point Frank indicated we would start the Master Bath Remodel in August. Other jobs got in the way and now we were looking at sometime in mid September.

In the middle of September, Frankie's Construction and Design began our Master Bath Remodel. Frank took my wife's vision for the project and brought it to life. My wife wanted to pick all her own fixtures (faucets, shower controls, bath tub, lights, mirrors etc) which were not part of the fee's paid to Frankie's. Frank, Jose and Miguel were all extremely professional and always on time for work.

We gave Frank a budget to create a façade on our fireplace and allowed his artistic, creative side to build his vision and it

matched the rest of our Family Room and was within budget - Outstanding!

While working on our house, Frank had three of my neighbors ask him for quotes to do work on their homes as well. The challenge with Frankie's Construction and Design is that they are always busy, and scheduling the work becomes a problem when coordinating Frankie's time and your time. Though, when the schedules do match up, you will not be disappointed.

Total scope of work that was completed : Installed Granite Counter Tops and recessed lighting as well as touch up painting for our Kitchen. Built a facade around our fireplace of stacked stone and designed and installed a wood mantle. Remodeled the Master Bathroom that included full demo of existing as well as install of cabinets, counter tops, lighting, electrical, free standing Bathtub, glass enclosed Roman Shower, flooring and shower done in Travertine tile, privacy doors, toilet, fixtures and paint.

Work still to be done : Polish Granite Counter top seams from original install, install Kitchen drawer soft close glides, knobs and pulls and a couple of minor punch list items from Master Bath remodel. Originally Frank told us it would be done before Thanksgiving, that time came and went, then Frank contacted my wife in the middle of December and when asked about the Kitchen he said it would be done by the end of the year. Unfortunately, today is March 1st 2014 and I still have not heard from Frank. Alas, I will finish the work myself and any future work will be let to a different contractor.

Most all the work was completed exceptionally well and on budget. It's unfortunate as I would really like to give Frank a glowing review, however with his uncommitted follow up, he leaves the homeowner in the lurch. His team is professional, clean, high quality workmanship AND with the caveat ?when they can get to you?. This would have been an "A" review all around had Frank followed up on his previous commitments. I believe we were more than fair and flexible. Sorry Frank, your follow up really needs improvement!

    Supreme Remodeling Inc
.I have always dreamed of a shower without curtains or doors Patrick
designed a cave with water coming from the top and three sides. They put
pockets in the wall for hair products.
The tiles looked like a stone cave; and to top it off they installed a
clear sunroof.  AWESOME!!!  We added a 4 person step up jacuzzi tub  lined in marble, with special windows along
the jaccuzzi for that outdoor feel. The enclosed toilet area was a very nice
touch. There were skylights installed to save energy.  Our vanity sinks with granite countertops is
simply beautiful.  What really topped it
    off; the mood lighting.  These
    professionals created an oasis.  Simply
amazing.  They had great ideas and were
    very reasonable in their pricing.
    Thank you

    Affordable Painting
I purchased a Big Deal Coupon for 7 hours of professional painting for $199.00. Mr. Rule was professional and planned his approach based on my goals. Mr. Rule began to work immediately and worked both quickly and neatly; it was obvious that he was confident and experienced. Mr. Rule accomplished much more than I thought would be possible in seven hours. I booked "Affordable Painting" to paint the vaulted walls in my formal living room......I am a "do-it-yourselfer", but found the height of these walls overwhelming. Not only did Mr. Rule paint the two tallest vaulted walls but he actually completed about 90% of the entire formal living room! The "Big Deal" I purchased equaled a 50% cost savings and the fact that Mr. Rule worked so quickly and completed so much in seven hours proved that he is a man of great integrity and work ethic. I most definitely recommend Affordable Painting and, if needed, will use this company's services in the future.

When I contacted Yu 1, I talked to the owner in detail about the fact that I wanted them to correct the area where my family and I had done some painting already and had paint drips in areas that I wanted fixed.  He came out and examined it and we discussed how it would be done, and he gave me the price to not only paint the whole interior, but to fix the drips (as outlined above in the language of the contract we wrote).  I paid dearly to fix the drips, but he agreed to do the drip repair and that was a central part of the whole contract.  Had he said he could paint, but could not or would not fix the drips, it would have been an entirely different situation (and price).

The owner seemed nice and professional enough (Korean, I believe), and he had staff that were apparently also Korean and Hispanic.Communications with the owner were fine, but the workers professed to speak little to no English, and it often seemed like they were doing that to avoid doing anything I asked that they correct.  I'm usually not very picky at all, and am not the type to complain even if things are not quite up to expectations, but Yu 1 pushed me to the point of total aggravation and annoyance.

They arrived fairly much in the ballpark of when they said they would, but then things got dicey from there.  They were back and forth and as soon as the actual owner left, it seems that so did the work ethic of the workers.  They were not careful in the rooms that they did, and they overpainted areas that were not meant to be painted, and got paint on fixtures and other areas where it should not have been.  They also did not put back vents, or even door knobs in some cases.  They did little enough cleanup either, but I could live with vacuuming up after them, but I could not live with the workers not making any attempt to comply with what the order was.  They did not even attempt to sand down the drips, and when I pointed this out to them, they acted like there was no way it was their job to do it since they didn't cause it.  I told them it was in the contract (which they should have been told and known from the start), and the one older Korean man managed enough English to laugh rudely at me and say:  "Ha,ha ha.  You try be cheap and  paint yourself.  Now you have to pay BIG bucks to make fixed!"  He kept laughing at me while pointing at the drips where I tried to tell him they needed to attempt to fix the drips as per the contract.  This was on a trip when they had been called back to FIX the drips!

Instead of even attempting to fix the drips at all, they just laughed and left.  I had to call them back a couple of times, and each time, when the owner would bring them back, while he was there and they were within his sight they made some minimal effort to fix things up as was agreed. The second he was in his vehicle and heading down the street, they reverted to not working at all, or doing minimal work and then leaving very quickly without doing the job he had told them to do in my presence to make sure we all knew what they needed to do.  They were extremely rude, and made it clear they felt they didn't need to do a good job on my house.  They had their money and they just left.

I had to call the owner back yet again to tell him to put the door and cabinet knobs back on and the light switch covers and the electrical outlet covers and air vents back on as well.  They left the last time still not fixing those things, although the owner personally did some that were particularly bad business to leave undone.

As near as I can tell, they made almost zero attempts to fix the areas that had drips.  The owner personally scraped some areas when he came back to deal with the work not being done right, but as soon as he left it to the workers again, they stopped trying to repair the drips or much of anything.

The job they did on the flat walls in painting them white was okay, other than the overspray onto other surfaces (never even attempted to clean those up either), such as the adjacent tile floor and piping coming from the wall area and a colored mural area in one bedroom that got oversprayed with white, as did the rock that comprises the fireplace sides and top that ended up getting sprayed white in areas by over-spray also.

I would never use them again, even if they were the only paint place in all of the Inland Empire.  I'd try a complete unknown rather than using them again.  I felt that I was treated very poorly by the workers (and I felt a lot of it had to do with my being female and them thinking less of me based on gender, or so it seemed).  Normally I ignore people who cop an attitude with me for whatever reason, gender based or other, but this time the older Korean man in particular, went way beyond the call of decency in laughing at me and refusing to fix the drips.  Showing him the contract did no good.  He just kept very rudely laughing at me and not doing the work.

I don't think it is unreasonable to expect them to put back door handles on doors (so there isn't an open hole where you can peer right through the bathroom door, for example, or to put the vents and covers back where they came from.  But it was like pulling teeth to call over and over to try to get these things fixed.  That should never have been an issue in the first place and isn't with every other painter I've ever used.

Maybe they have changed radically from 2007 and now they have a polite, competent crew that cleans up after they work, and does not overspray  or change paint and not leave the paint information  for the owner.  Or maybe they are the same as they were in 2007.  Either way, I'm not willing to risk using them again for anything. Had I known how the job would turn out, versus what I contracted for, I would never have paid as much as I did, particularly when they used a very large amount of my paint. And just to add insult to the whole matter, they left their food trash around and did not pick up after themselves either.  But by then that wasn't surprising, as they didn't seem to feel they needed to do much of anything to strive for professionalism in their work.

    Five Star Painting of Corona
I received an immediate response to my email request for an estimate on getting my living room and dining room walls and ceilings  painted.  Contractor, Willie Plaza, was prompt in giving free estimate and then arranging to begin work.  I wanted work done immediately and Willie was able to accommodate me.  I needed the remainder of the popcorn ceiling removed.  The ceiling had been scimmed previously, but scraped dry so it was not done completely or done well.  I mentioned that I had new drywall installed which was thicker than the original walls so the electrical outlets were not flush with the walls and he stated that he could fix that for me, as well as install new switches and plugs in ivory or almond to match wall color.  Mr. Plaza also stated that he could install a new ceiling fan in the dining room which involved moving wiring to the center of the room.  The former fan was off center. I was also interested in possibly having walls and ceilings texturized.  We discussed wall color and he said I could choose paint from any store although he preferred Sherman Williams and gave me a brochure with their colors, but said I had a couple of days to select the color and pick out a wall fan.  Mr. Plaza gave me an estimate on Wednesday, had the workers out the following day to scim the ceiling and texturize the walls and the ceiling with orange peel texture.  The texture needed to dry so the painters came on Monday. They were done with priming and painting before I got off work.  Mr. Plaza came the next day to do lighting plugs, switches, and install the fan, which included installing a special switch to control the fan speeds and the light in the fan.  My home was built in 1983 and I have been in the process of remodeling and updating for several years as I could afford it.  My living room and dining area look like rooms in a brand new home and I am very pleased with the outcome of the work,  I love the texture and the color.   I want to do the kitchen remodel next and will probably be calling Mr. Plaza to assist with that job next.
