    Top Quality Framing
Working with Jack with Top Quality Framing went great! I had actually hired a different contractor before I found Jack and things went sideways very fast. Although, I was very frustrated about things going sideways with the other contractor, it turned out to be a total blessing in disguise because I was able to meet and hire Jack. Right from the start, it was quite easy to tell how experienced Jack was with working on older homes as he would take the time to explain the process with working with the older wood and finish work. It was equally easy to tell how much he enjoyed working on them as well with the way he would express his appreciation for the workmanship and wood work in the home. I found out shortly after our first meeting he too owned a home that was 20+ years older than ours. My wife and I worked very hard with coming up with a design and new layout for the house. We had a pretty long wish list of what we wanted to accomplish by having an open floor plan as much as reasonably possible but, without adding any square footage. The house was a 3 bedroom 1 bath home and the single bathroom could only be accessed by going through 2 of the 3 bedrooms. It was very odd to say the least. Anyway, we are now finished and we now ended up with a spacious 3 bedroom and 3 bath home without adding 1 square foot to the layout. The master bedroom now has it's own bathroom and so does one of the other bedrooms along with access from the living room. The existing bathroom can now be accessed from a hallway that Jack built just off of the kitchen. This existing bathroom is now the guest bathroom. It was large enough to also use it as the new laundry room. It doesn't feel too tight either. Jack helped us by turning the old laundry room into the master bathroom. Jack's scope of work was all interior demo, all interior and exterior finish carpentry and framing work. This entailed working with existing doors, trim, base, and crown molding as we wanted to keep as much of the original beautiful wood work as possible. Jack was also very instrumental with getting all new molding made to match exactly to all of the existing where it became necessary. This also included having batten boards with dental trim made to to match all of the existing. On the exterior, Jack built a new 2-car detached garage from the ground up, an attached patio cover, and deck with wrap around stairs. In addition, he worked on the gaudy prison looking porch and brought it back to original as well as replaced a lot of siding to match the existing and tied in everything beautifully! Furthermore, he built/created new window openings and made it all look original. We have had a ton of compliments throughout the project especially, after people saw his handiwork. Please see all pictures and trust me, even the pictures don't do justice. Jack puts a lot of pride into his work and he's very methodical and stays focused. He's not the type to nickel and dime the customer either. He thoroughly enjoys what he's doing but he also doesn't mess around or waste time. He's a problem solver when it comes to figuring out a solution to some of the surprises that may arise. My wife and I very very glad that we met and hired Jack along with his wife Heather. They are both very nice people and we look forward to working with them in the future as well as continue our new friendship with them.

    EMPIRE GATES
They showed up hours later.  Explained the wiring to my control board was not installed correctly which, the last company/tech that installed it was from their same company.  They said he no longer works there and couldn't warranty the work because they couldn't guarantee if anyone else worked on it since then.  Meaning me.  Which I never touched it.  They offered to correct the wiring and do a preventative maintenance service on my gate for 10% lower than normal price.  I agreed and paid but, still had the problem.  They came out and couldn't figure out the problem and suggested I install a new receiver with a code scrambler.  They sent me a proposal with vague info and I called and inquired about it and they never called me back.  I believe they knew I was onto them because the technician who was supposedly an expert couldn't recall the model name or number of the product they gave me a quote on.  Most receivers online are 25-75 dollars and the price they gave me was 245 dollars.  So, I am not surprised they haven't called me back.  For one, they didn't have a clue what the real problem was and two, they knew I was verifying the info and pricing the provided.

    UC Fence
Jason came out the day after making contact. We discussed what I wanted done and he prepared a bid.
His quote was right in line with my expectation so we scheduled the work. The following week, 4 employees showed up and began removing my existing fence. By the end of day 1 they had my old fence removed and posts placed for the new fence. Day two, 4 different employees (they have a demolition crew and an install crew) showed up and began installing the panels and shoring up the fence. By the end of day two, my fence was complete and I am highly satisfied!
This was a no brainer - easy schmeezy - no sweat on the homeowner.
If you need a new fence and vinyl is your preference, I would highly recommend UC Fence.

Jason came out and verified the job scope and provided a bid immediately.
The work was scheduled and the team arrived on time and began immediately.
They used two crews, one to tear down and setup for vinyl and the second to do all the final work (set T&G, level and align posts etc). Both crews were no nonsense and each member pulled their share (no slackers).
The teams both worked clean and did what they could to preserve the landscape, in fact, I only lost two sprinklers in the process (I expected worse).
Overall, this was a great experience and I would recommend them to my neighbors and friends.
