    Preferred Home Builders Inc
Initially, I wasn't 100% sold on the bid for the project. Additionally, I had already had some work done on my house, and I had quickly learned how the price for a renovation could quickly increase and how the length of time to complete a project could easily double. However, the project manager assured me that his group would adhere to the agreed upon budget, and would finish the project on schedule. Finally, when he agreed to install a tray ceiling in the adjoining living room for no extra cost, I committed to the approximate cost of $70,000. There were to be added expenses: price for pulling permits, but this was minimal and really provided peace of mind knowing that everything was installed according to code. There was also the added expense of having wooden floors installed and all new kitchen appliances, but this was to be expected and allowed me to specifically choose the degree of quality I desired to be present. I chose various stainless steal appliances for the kitchen accented by a professional grade 36-inch Wolf range-top for the island. For the floors I decided on an "antique-java fossilized" bamboo, manufactured by Cali Bamboo. Throughout the renovation I had weekly updates by phone and email, and I was given a time frame for outside items I had to purchase or order: glass door for the pantry, pendent lighting for over the island, back-splash tiling, paint colors/samples, and of course the appliances and flooring. They also agreed to demo the existing fireplace structure and place new stacked stone tiling around the new gas-inset fire place I was going to have installed. When it was all said and done, they had finished the project ahead of schedule, entirely on budget, and exceeded my lofty expectations! I would highly recommend them for future business. In fact, I'm taking my own advice. In the very near future I plan on getting a quote from PHB to renovate my master bedroom / bathroom and walk-in closet. Looking forward to this next big project!

    Your Favorite Contractor, Inc.
We are still in the process but up until now we are very happy with Itay and his crew. They have been completely professional every day, doing good work, passing inspections on the first go, etc. Other contractors bid on the job at a lower price, but I believe that you get what you pay for. At the first meeting Itay prepared a 3D mockup of the addition within 10 minutes, and was able to connect with us on what we wanted and put it into action. This kind of service from a contractor is invaluable. Anyone who can snag them would be equally as pleased. Once we are finished with construction, I will add more photos.

He was responsible and careful. We were only had take-out for
    two weeks!
He also has amazing connections in the building/
construction industry! For the counters, he took us to the
local supplier; I was so awed by them, I asked for a job (sorry
    - no Ph.Ds need apply) but we did buy a 40' x 20' slap of granite
for the counters ("Viennese blue" from Brazil). He had a subcontractor
cut and finish it to order. We now have the main counter as a single
piece 40' long 2' wide. His subcontractor for the electrical
work not only rewired the kitchen area but also checked out
all the house wiring (good thing - the previous owner did it
    all himself - wrong)
He also changed the build in progress. As we watched it unfold we
made requests, such as a movable island in the center and
changing floor tiling in the entry way to accent the Tuscan brown
with black edging matching the "black" granite counters.
At the time, Alan lived and worked in S. Calif; he is now
    in Arizona.
I cannot recommend this guy strongly enough. We found him via our
neighbors and they are equally happy with his work

I called a few contractors and Paul was the first person to reply and gave me a free estimate within days.
Paul was very professional and punctual on giving me the quote.
However, his pricing was higher than the other two quotes that I received.
We went with the middle quote.
However, I will definitely call him again for future construction needs.

    US Home Developers Inc
Overall it went very well.  From the time they started to competition, workers appeared as promised.  Reggie came to the site almost every day to make sure they were doing quality and timely work.  Even my neighbors were impressed by the quality of the materials and the professionalism of the work performed. I highly recommend Reggie Cohen and US Home Developers, INC.

When we had an old deck removed, we discovered substantial dry rot in the bottoms of five large redwood posts that support part of an arbor that covers most of our brick patio.  When were looking for someone to repair the arbor, Pete Pruitt of A-1 General Contracting was recommended to us by two people who work with general contractors.  Pete came out to look the situation over the very day I phoned and came up with two options for repair.  After we selected one, he gave us a written estimate and an approximate date for the work.  As it turned out, he had an earlier opening and was able to make the repair within a week.  He and a helper installed a temporary scaffold to support that portion of the arbor, cut the rotten bottoms off the posts, formed molds for and poured concrete pedestals for the posts, and anchored the posts to the new pedestals.  After the concrete set, they removed the molds and scaffold and told us how long we should let the concrete cure before completing the surrounding brick work. The new pedestals and anchors will ensure that the bottoms of the post are not exposed to dirt or water and should prevent the problem from recurring. Pete and his helper cleaned up completely when they were finished and were unfailingly professional and courteous.  We felt the price was very fair.  We intend to use A-1 General contracting again for other projects.
