    Paramount Pavers & Construction

We found Isaac and Rudy to be personable and very knowledgeable and professional in their approach to the design and implementation of our driveway and entry-way/courtyard. During the construction process, they were readily available for consultation and were very accommodating to our needs. The masonry crew were  friendly and very skilled. They were available for questions and explained each step of the process to us. We were exceptionally pleased with the result of their efforts and would absolutely recommend them .  During the installation process, they found a corrupted pipe from a previous job many years ago by another company. Isaac and Rudy replaced this pipe without charge to us.

    MB Paving
I loath contractors that seem disinterested, too busy to care and just plain unprofessional. Jose from MB paving was responsive and prompt. I got a call back, measurements taken and a quote well within a week. This despite my constant changes in job scope. Though the job was delayed due to weather, I was very satisfied with the results and look forward to using MB Paving again when I do the rest of my driveway. Thanks.

    Your Favorite Contractor, Inc.
We are still in the process but up until now we are very happy with Itay and his crew. They have been completely professional every day, doing good work, passing inspections on the first go, etc. Other contractors bid on the job at a lower price, but I believe that you get what you pay for. At the first meeting Itay prepared a 3D mockup of the addition within 10 minutes, and was able to connect with us on what we wanted and put it into action. This kind of service from a contractor is invaluable. Anyone who can snag them would be equally as pleased. Once we are finished with construction, I will add more photos.

My general contractor hired Ortega's as a sub-contractor to remove wood siding from my house and re-stucco the walls.  The stucco job was very professional and excellently done.  The only problem was the clean-up afterward, which was okay but not better than that.  They washed off their stucco tools in my yard, so a lot of the dirt has stucco in it.  They also stomped some plants so hard that they died, and they got stucco on others that won't come off.  They also stepped on a sprinkler bubbler and broke it.  They never mentioned that to me, but maybe they didn't notice that they did it.  Overall I really like the work but not the clean-up.
My general contractor hired Ortega's as a sub-contractor, so I don't know exactly how much they were paid by the GC.

Update two months later: I mentioned that they washed off the stucco tools in my yard, and now all the plants in those areas has died.  An arborist told me that stucco mix has lime in it and it kills plants, so I will need to re-plant.

After 25 years living in the same Claremont house, we needed to repair, replace or renovate nearly every outdoor feature. The bid prepared by Andrew Landscape was submitted after meeting three times to discuss the desired scope of work. Measurements were rechecked. Costs were broken out with significant detail, allowing us to consider both budget priorities and alternative approaches, such as using a mix of pavers and concrete for the driveways.
A major goal was extending the use of Mexican colonial architectural touches already dominant inside the house. The project included: (1) replacing nearly 3,000 sq ft of badly broken concrete driveways, (2) expanding the patio and pool deck, with new overhead lighting, wrought iron fencing and gate, (3) re-plastering the pool and spa and installing new water-line tile, (4) constructing new retaining walls, (5) building a tiled fountain around a 19th century Italian giare, (6) replacing irrigation system, lawn and shrubs with southern California native plants, and (7) installing low-voltage pool and path lights.
The proposal developed by Wayne Andrew established a clear timeline, with payments scheduled as work was completed and accepted. The contractor pulled a city construction permit and ensured that all work met expected standards. Sub-contractors brought into the project were experienced and very attentive to achieving our goals. This proved particularly important with the water feature and pool tiling as we significantly re-shaped the final version of both during the course of the work. Although we requested a half-dozen changes over the three-month construction calendar, labor costs increased by only one percent.
What a triumph! The design expertise, supervision and skill Wayne brought in planning, staging and completing this project has been exceptional. Friends can scarcely believe that so much could be accomplished in three months. Each element came out better than we'd imagined, and has brought praise from friends and family watching it all unfold.

S ummary comments - Use if you are desperate for fast service OR willing to manage on behalf of the owner....1) 25% cost over-run, 2)  poorly equipped crew 3) but overall did very good work.

    1) Steve the owner was very responsive, polite, and knowledgeable---we needed the job started ASAP, and he had a
crew of two within two days.
    2) very polite and skilled labor

    1) Poorly equipped-----they were using small grinders when you could rent larger ones for only $30/day @ home depot.  Tools broke on the job, blades went dull, and the 2-man crew was far less productive as a result.  They also lacked 6-foot long' levels on day 1 of the job, which is disappointing given the whole purpose of the job was to level the floor.
    2) Poorly managed---the crew lacked supervision; owners had to ask us what the crew needed.
    3) Inadequate safety - no masks or gloves for work that generated tons of dust, therefore I provided dusk masks.
    4) Poor estimate - I specifically told Steve that he would need our EXPLICIT approval for any scope changes or cost overruns.  Steve later advised us that it we had ALREADY exceeded his estimate---and incurred a $400 overcharge and the rest of the work would be at least another $400, so I decided to STOP all the work.

    Mission Concrete
They did a tremendous job. Punctual, polite, extremely professional. If a provider of this service can be described as a delight, doing business with this company was exactly that. I would highly recommend them to anyone who might ask.

    Rooms & Covers
We had a 12 x 33 foot sun room added to the back of our house. One wall is solid and the other two are windows. The roof is raised slightly so it is very nice. We had a heater /AC put in which works amazingly well. We also have two fans.

We have used this company numerous times across 13 years, and always found them to be top notch. All workers are professional and work is always high quality. Veteran Pools & Plastering
Pool needed a remodel. Tiles falling off and rust spots on the bottom. It was time. Wife contacted various pool contractors. Jeff was a little more than our lowest price, but he came across as a knowledgeable, no pressure, on point person. He gave us locations we could go to pick out tile, etc. His contract was thorough and most importantly, he had all his necessary insurance, bond and licenses. He was certified by Pebble Tec to install their product. He answered calls with any questions we had and also texted back when we texted him. The workers.....worked.....hard.....bought them lunch on two long days and supplied ice water. Very organized. Sam, the concrete and Pebble Tec man, has been doing pools for 15 years and was very patient with any questions I had. Jeff said it would take 7-10 days and he stayed on target. Jeff came back and examined work product during installation. Of course pool now looks brand new and really pops.
Thank you Jeff, Sam and all .........
If you install Pebble Tec, make sure to ask how long to let it sit before using your spa or pool sweep...we were advised its best to leave it for 30 days. Of course you can swim in it right away........
