    We have done several remodels before including a $300K full house remodel back in 2015 that took 3 month and involved a Civil Engineer. So we are pretty experienced in dealing with contractors. Now, this is not the horror story where contractor takes your money and disappears. To be fair, MC Construction is a legitimate business. They will get the work done, eventually. But this process, oh man, I don't know where to even begin. Let's just say that my perfectionist Virgo husband used to have pretty severe OCD. This remodeling project cured him. All jokes aside, I rarely write bad reviews, but these people are reaching our limit of patience. I highly doubt how they got so many 5 star reviews. This is a $125K project. We signed the contract on 5/17/2018 and left plenty of time for it to be finished by 7/31 (At one time, they thought it'll be done by 7/10). Since I'm pregnant and due in Sept, they promised me everything will be done by 7/31 with 5 exclamation marks at the end. Now it's already 8/24 and we are still going through this trial and tribulation, living in a rental (3+ months now) with no end in sight. The project manager's name is Ron. To get the job, he would paint such a wonderful picture of how smoothly the project will go with him in charge. Oh how were we treated to surprises after surprises. Promise 1: All the workers working on our house will be the company's own crew. Promise 2: They will treat our house with the outmost respect. Everything will be protected. When their worker leaves by day's end, everything will be cleaned up Promise 3: The worker will come every day at 8 am and leave at 5 pm during week days until the project is finished. Promise 4: They will produce the highest quality of work. Ron claims that he is extremely detailed and that even my husband cannot be more detailed than him. What we got: 1. He subcontracted everything out: the painter, plumber, electrician, and carpenter. Most of them have barely worked with MC construction. Our project is either the first time that they used this carpenter 2. No dumpster was rented for construction waste. Our garage and driveway were their dumpster. We got repeated warning from our HoA. I kept telling them to remove the trash but nothing happened! My washer and dryer stored in the garage are now severely scratched and damaged. Someone even stepped on the dryer when using it as a ladder, leaving a huge dent. 3. At the beginning, we trusted Ron and didn't follow the progress closely. In July, we got worried and started to check the house 2-3 times a week. To our surprise, no one was there most of the week! I called Ron every day to try to get the updates. He always promises everything will be on track and then do NOTHING. There are 3 weeks with NO ONE working because of the ridiculous reason that they are waiting for the baseboard?!! Until we had a very uncomfortable conversation with Ron at end of July, things started to move a little faster. Maybe 2-3 days a week, you will get a full crew. The house is still not in livable condition. Lots of stuff missing and damaged! Toilet not installed. Today (8/24) the inspector came, and Ron is not there. My husband met the inspector and learned to our horror that we might not pass electrical inspection! 4. The job is SLOPPY. Everything had to be constantly adjusted. The paint on the barn door are full of bubbles and drips. They installed a prefab floating vanity crooked. One side is higher than the other by almost 1 inch! Ron first tells me that it is leveled. When we insisted, his guy adjusted only the backsplash to be level. Then it became even more obvious with a ~1" gap between the backsplash and the countertop on one side and no gap on the other. He just filled the gap with cement and tells us that there is nothing more he can do. After a long argument, he finally agreed to adjust the vanity. Any responsible contractor seeing such big screw-up and will automatically fix it. With Ron, we had to fight and argue With Ron, it is a combination of inexperience and EXTREME irresponsibility. To give an example, our rangerhood is installed crooked. Ron told us on 8/21 that we have to wait 6 days to get it fixed because the handyman who did the job is on vacation and he already paid him. Wow! With 21 days over a 2 month project, any responsible contractor's first priority would be to finish the work. No one is monitoring the project. Ron would come at most 2 days/wk. And stay perhaps 2 hrs. Whenever we see him, he's either on the phone or working on his computer. No one is checking the works. The subcontractors are just managing themselves. Things go missing all the time. The plumber couldn't install the wall-hung toilet because of missing parts. He had to look everywhere and found them in the trash can! Now, my husband don't go to work anymore. Instead, he goes to the house everyday to manage the workers and hope they can get it done ASAP.

    Great! The owner and his helper arrived within an hour of my calling them and lifted this heavy TV down the stairs and out to the truck with no problem. They also took a treadmill which we never use anymore.

    I purchased a "140.00 for $158.00 Worth of Junk Hauling" deal. At the time my appointment was scheduled, we discussed there was the possibility of a fee increase after the actual items were assessed. Made sense to me. It turned out that the load was a bit OVER, but they did not ask for the additional payment as a courtesy to a first time customer.

    The job went quickly, they arrived on time and were courteous and professional. Thank you Junk King!

    Don was great to work with. He listened to our ideas and worked within our budget to achieve our new draught tolerant yard. His crew is great! They showed up on time everyday. They cleaned up at the end of each day and they worked tirelessly.. The project took about 8 days. Day one, they took out about 3600 sq ft of lawn and hauled it away. They rototilled and added soil amendments, leveled all areas. Installed a decomposed granite walk way that turned out really nice. Everyday was a transformation. Drippers went in, plants went in. Trees went in. What I really appreciated was that they dug holes for the plants, put in soil admendments and then filled the hole with water and planted the plants after the water soaked in. IMO this extra step gives plants less transplant shock and a better start in their new home. My yard came out great! Dons guys were fabulous. They were very knowledgeable in their understanding of plants and their needs. They were very competent in everything they did. The drip system, the flagstone path, the stone tree rings, the choice of plants, everything was done professionally, competently and better than I had envisioned. I'm not an easy person to work with, but Dons staff were very patient and very pleasant and accommodating. Thank you for a great experience and I would definitely have Don back and recommend his company highly. I wish we were in his regular maintenance area. That would have been perfect!

    Excellent  job, clean, professional, polite and not one nail or bolt of our 35 year old rotting patio cover was left behind . The final cost remained the same as the estimate given over the phone and the job was completed three hours earlier than expected.  The original crew consisted of two hard working young men who arrived on time and wearing their company T-shirts, one hour into the job another crew arrived to see if their assistance was needed to speed up the job. Yes folks, when you hire this particular demolition company just know you get more for your money.

    I initially contacted them using the link from Angie's list.  They replied to my email within the hour to schedule my free estimate.  They called about an hour before the scheduled time letting me know that they were available now to come by.  The looked at the shed that needed to be demolished and removed and quoted me on the spot.  The quote was less than two other junk haulers so I hired them on the spot.  It took about an hour to take down and remove the entire shed from my backyard.  They swept the area up after and made sure I looked over the job and was satisfied with the removal.  I would definitely hire them again for my future junk hauling needs.

    Hauling Away: Junk Removal Service
    It turns out my parents had more stuff that needed to be removed in their backyard.  Because of my good experience last time, I called Javier right away this morning, and he was able to swing by in the afternoon, with the same 3 men crew.  It took them I guess about 3 hours to move about 1/2 truck load of pretty much deadweight.  I am talking about cinder blocks, red brick tiles, and yes... even roofing tiles.  And then there are assorted other yard junks.  It was pretty much a Herculean feat!  I can not praise them enough. I highly recommend them to anyone needing any junk hauling service.

    We recently prepared a house for rental, and had quite a bit of junk to be hauled away. First, they came a few days before to give us an estimate. We mentioned that we had a coupon form Angie's List and they honored it. On the day of the service, they called ahead to confirm and arrived right on time. They removed all of the junk in the garage and some old furniture in the house. They ended up with a little more than they had estimated, but still honored the estimate and coupon. They were professional and courteous - we will use them again.

    My parents are planning to move soon.  So I helped to them clean up a bit, and throw away stuff they won't need in their new (and smaller) place.  Called this company come to pick up all the junk collected over the last 20 years.  3 guys came out, right on time.  And 1 of them was super strong!
    They managed to load everything we wanted to get rid into their (huge) truck.  We pretty much just stood on the side and point out the stuff we want gone.
    Overall, it was a very good experience.  They charged us $450 and gave us a $50 senior discount.  So the final price was $400.  I have looked around, I believe this price is very competitive.  I will recommend their service to everyone.

    Hugely dissatisfied and let down.
    Paid 99$ on an Angies List special for $225 worth of junk-haul.
    Mr. Holmes was very polite over the phone and returned calls promptly, however his team BARELY MADE A DENT in our junk pile, the 99$ was not even worth it.
    They really only took what was recyclable or re-sellable.
    When I expressed this to them they said they would "let the office know" and follow up with me.
    Never heard another word from them.
    Big let down..
