    Technician went through the unit and gave us our options. We felt he was very honest about build quality of the old unit. Technician was very friendly and knowledgeable. Had no problems explaining things to answer our questions. Unfortunately the part to repair the unit was very costly from the manufacturer so we opted to replace the unit rather than put money into the old one.The old unit wasn't an expensive one and the part in question was probably about 75% of the original cost of the unit 7 some years ago now.

    Sears Appliance Repair
    They hit the reset button, and it worked like a day and then it stopped working again.  The second guy came in and said we needed a new ice maker. He happened to have one in the truck so he installed it and everything has been fine since.

    There is a basic fee to come, like $60 and basically all he did was come in and hit a button which lasted a few days. Then the next guy came out and replaced it, but they didn't charge me the service charge because I'd already paid it a few days earlier to the other guy, so I thought that was fair.

    Pat fit me in the same day I contacted him. He was able to diagnose the problem and make the repair in about 15 - 20 minutes. He is professional and customer oriented. I have recommended him to my friends and family.

    The original appointment was made over the internet for Friday the 18th. The window was from 8am to 12 noon. I waited at home until 11:45am then called Sears 800# to be told that they are running late, but no one took the time to call me. So I waited a bit longer and they final called at 1:30pm. I said cancel it this is ridiculous. They had no excuse for me and re-booked to Monday. The repairman arrived around 11am Monday and did a good job but didn't show much care or concern that they had wasted half of my day the previous Friday. Fortunately it was under warranty so I didn't have to pay.

    I called and they could get me on the schedule in two days. However they took my phone number in case there was a cancellation. There was a cancellation so I was seen the next day. He called 15 minutes before arrival. Chuck was very personable and told me what he was doing as he was doing it. He had gathered enough information from me over the phone to bring any of the parts that he might need. He was able to diagnose the problem, as starter relay switch had burned out. He replaced the part after being clear with me about the total cost. He was done with the job in 1/2 hour and told me how to prevent the problem from happening in the future. He wrote up a clear and concise bill and left the kitchen as he found it. The part was $80 and the labor was $135 plus $6 tax

    They fixed/replaced some pipe insulation, cleaned condensation lines, cleaned the outdoor coil, replaced the filter, checked electrical connections and refrigerant all for the price of a checkup.

    He came when he said he would. He was polite, personable and completely professional. He quickly discovered the source of the problem--checking my electrical connections and fuses and advised me on what to do if it happened again. He didn't charge a trip charge and I thought his minimum charge was reasonable. I wouldn't hesitate to call him again if I need similar services. He also didn't chide me for having an old dryer, either.

    I couldn't be happier with the service I received. When I contacted Pat Gilmore, I asked if there was an off-chance that he could fit me in his schedule today and got lucky that he had some time. Mr. Gilmore was punctual, professional and pleasant to have working in my home. He solved the problem in a very reasonable amount of time, showed me the problem and how to fix it myself should the problem happen again. His price was very fair. I will definitely refer him to friends and most definitely will call again if I have another appliance repair need.

    HUDSON'S APPLIANCE CENTER
    Both a mobile home with three old kenmore side by side.  It never really defrosted, to did the old tried and true method....turn off refrigerator open freezer door and stand the fan in front for three hours.  This will defost all...due this every three months and then call Hudson's Appliance.  Or better yet call Hudson's at the first sign of trouble.
