FCurt's Small Equipment RepairI brought my chain saw in to be tuned and and the chain sharpened. This took two weeks to do. When I got the saw home it wouldn't start. I took it back to him and he said it was a cheap saw and that I should buy a new one from him. When I told him that I just used it occasionally and didn't need a "professional" chain saw costing over $400. he made a snide remark about how I shouldn't be using a chain saw at all at my age. I am 63. I was an intentional insult. He refused to work on my saw and told me, "Hey, I am the only shop in town. If you want your power tools worked on its either me or drive to Salinas." This passed winter I took a Chipper to him to be repaired. Gas was leaking from beneath the tank. He had the chipper 5 weeks before I got it back. He charged me $150. to "repair" the gas line. He told me that he had to take the entire thing apart to do it. After the chain saw incident I took a close look at his so called "repair" job. The rubber gas line had been "repaired" with black electrical tape. I had used it a couple of times and it worked okay but I knew that it wouldn't last. I took it to my new repairman. He had the chipper less than a week and most of that time was waiting for the fuel line to come UPS from the factory. He removed and replaced the fuel line in 20 minutes. Curt is a fraud and a j***. Do not do business with him under any circumstances. I have driven to a Small Engine Repair shop in Salinas twice since then and had wonderful customer service from a very professional and competent mechanic. The chain saw just need an adjustment that was done with a screwdriver... took less than 30 seconds and was free.- Steve R.
