  • I called first to verify location and get the price. The price was not given to me. I came anyway because it was a "discount" place and I thought it had to be cheaper than my regular vet. When I got to the facility there was no where to park. When I finally got a space it was too small. the lot was filthy and the outside was not clean. When I went inside there was not enough chairs so I had to stand up. The receptionist did not acknowledge me. When i talked to her she told me the price and it was in the same range as my previous vet who had a much nicer facility and excellent customer service. I did not want to trust my cats with these people because they did not seem to know how to run a business.

  • I brought my cat in as a walk in.  Dr. Grain took her right in.  She was diagnosed with feline vestibular syndrome.  He said that there is really no treatment.  I was charged for only the office visit.  I was impressed with both the office staff and Dr. Grain.  I only wish they had extended hours.

  • I have been using the services of A Shear Pleasure for nearly 2 years now. I have always been very pleased with the quality of grooming that my Westie and Lhasa Apso receive. The owner, Rebecca, is very attentive to the individual grooming needs of my dogs. When my Lhasa Apso was having some medical issues and I was concerned about leaving him too long, she was very understanding and made sure that my dog was not there any longer than was necessary.
    Finding a groomer in the South Bay who is well versed in Westie cuts has always been a challenge for me - a few have even cut off his trademark Westie skirt! At A Shear Pleasure, I can always count on getting my Westie back well groomed - and with his skirt intact! And not looking like a Scottie or a Schnauzer!
    I also like that, when entering the store, all of the dogs are very visible in their cages - and honestly, I have never observed what I perceive as anxious or excessive barking when I have been there. They all seem quite calm. I like that a lot!
    All in all, A Shear Pleasure has become my groomer of choice. I know that my dogs will be well taken care of and most of all - I know there won't be any surprises when I go to pick them up!

  • I have a dog who really doesn't like anyone touching his paws - so he's super hyper and afraid when it's time to clip his nails.  I did give a heads up to the groomer and told them it would be fine to use a muzzle.

    They muzzled him but at a healthy 60 lbs, my dog is a lot of muscle to wrestle with.  Twice now they have been unsuccessful in completing the service the first time, having had to send the owner in a week later to finish the nail clipping.  Now I can only schedule my dog with the owner because no one else can manage the nail clipping.

    Let me say though - my dog has never shown aggressive tendencies - except for when he's frightened and "defending" his paws.

    So now they aren't returning my calls. I'm looking for another groomer who hopefully can handle my dog.  Maybe knowing that my dog is difficult, they could send two people?? Or at least let me know that they refuse to work on my dog because he's too much trouble when it comes to paws.  I dunno. I'm a little sad about the ordeal.

  • My dog was boarded here for 2 nights and half a day. The staff was very nice and the premises clean and pleasant. I felt very comfortable leaving him there. They offer different activity packages and accommodation levels to suit most owners. I opted for extra playtime and a bath on departure day. Overall I paid more than I have in the past ... but the service and accommodations were *well worth* the extra cost! I will definitely be using them again! I peeked in on the cats and they all had sunny window views and looked *very* content.

  • DR. SHANE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND VERY UNDERSTANDING OF YOUR PET AS WELL AS THE OWNER. HER STAFF WAS GREAT AND THEY ALWAYS MAKE SURE THAT YOUR PET IS COMFORTABLE AND NOT TOO STRESSED OUT WHEN THEY COME INTO THEIR OFFICE. I APPRECIATE ALL THAT THEY DO.
