  • The concierge fee is relatively low because it does not cover a full year of office visits. Prepare to pay extra, especially if he needs to refer you to someone else to interpret a basic test, a likelihood because his medical knowledge is about 20 years behind that of every other doctor I've gone to in the past ten years. I'm not on Medicare and unlike every other out-of-network provider I've gone to, he apparently does NOT use the extra time to update his medical knowledge with the latest medical research or conducting and publishing his own peer-reviewed research.

Should have believed the review I read on another site that said he "doesn't listen." Doctor's bedside manner is condescending toward patients and other doctors. He limits his practice to conventional medicine, with disdain for any functional or complementary or alternative approaches or practitioners thereof and/or their diagnoses. Misdiagnosed me with a condition that I told him was prone to misdiagnosis. If you have a rare disease or are in any way different from the typical participant in last century's medical studies, go elsewhere because he's too fixed in his outdated opinion. My primary reason for going to him was because he doesn't use a hospital's hospitalists but there's no advantage in him being my hospitalist because his medical advice would cause the type of adverse drug events that I want a hospitalist to prevent.

Overall, reminds me of the old proverb, "He who knows not that he knows not is a fool - avoid him."

On the other hand, his office staff is outstandingly friendly and competent and helpful.

  • We have insurance with Kaiser. We go to Kaiser in Harbor City. My last appointment with Kaiser Permanente was last month, and actually I do have an appointment with them on the 28th of this month. I was seeing them almost every week, as I had a surgery and they did a really good job. I like the fact that everything is there, and that you do not have to drive anywhere. The lab is there. The pharmacy is right there. Everyone there is very respectful. Overall, the doctors are really nice. The great thing is their service, because you can e-mail the doctors and the nurse or the doctor himself will get back to you that same day. It is quick to get an appointment as well. I had trouble, I did not know my blood sugar was high until they monitored that also. They remind you to come in and get some blood work done so that they can monitor whatever you may have. Because I have a history of diabetes in my family, they provided even classes to make me understand what I am eating and what may have been the cause to my blood sugar being high, and that I have to maintain it or I will have diabetes. They are really good at reminding you. They are very professional. They are very clean. At Kaiser Permanente everyone introduces himself. I like their getting to know the patients. Even when you check in the person who checks you in informs you "my name is Lilia and I am helping you today. I will be checking you in. If there anything else you need please let me know." We have used Kaiser before, but I think their service and their facility is amazing now. They have expanded so much and there is everything there. They have dermatology, and everything. My thyroids are giving me a problem as well and so that is why I am going in to get a scan. They are very thorough about explaining to you what the process is and what you need to do. They even send reminders in the mail, and instructions to you. I really like this facility. The surgeon I had was noninvasive and it was supposed to be an outpatient surgery. I was supposed to only go into their outpatient clinic, but for my safety the doctor said that if I bled too much he did not have the equipment there to control it. So my surgery was actually at the hospital, which I was very surprised that he had done that for me. So you can tell that they really care.
