    Schauffele, Dr Heidi
Provider could not get an accurate result until the vision impairment was resolved. I was referred to my retinaologist for reason and resolution. It took three weeks to get in to see my eye doctor, but when seen, he immediately identified the problem and referred me to the doctor that had performed a cataract surgery who would remove skin cells that were growing on the lens creating a blurring of my vision. Another three weeks waiting for this doctor, When seen, the doctor immediately fixed the problem. Dr. Schauffele patiently waited all this time to finalize my eye exam and fit me with glasses. She did not charge me for the first abbreveated visit. My glasses are perfect. I appreciated the great service she provided me.

They had all the advanced optical equipment and they offered an excellent selection of glasses. Clients can get in to have their eyes checked and they can have their glasses right before they leave. It was a nice office and I never waited while I was there. They also worked with my insurance.

Everyone there is really friendly and they are really helpful. They really took the time to figure out what it was that I needed vision-wise because it is a little tricky. They were really nice and accommodating when I called to make an appointment. I actually got an appointment just a few days later and it was the time that I needed. They had a lot of different frames to choose from. The overall office environment is really good. I have gone to other places before and here, I felt like they did other things to measure when I found a pair of frames to make sure that they fit right. They were running a little bit behind.

Dr. Schauffele presented me with her 1st choice (contact lenses) and 2nd choice (Lasix) and provided sound reasons for her choices. She provided me with a pair of contact lenses and had her assistant, Heidi, provide training on inserting and removing the contacts. I'm a slow learner so they suggested I come back again the next day if I felt I needed more help, which I did. They were very patient with me.
Dr. Schauffle did not charge me for the contact lenses, and still hasnt' charged me, as she is still tweaking the prescription and type of contacts until she finds the ones that are the most comfortable and the prescription that provides me with a good balance of reading and distance vision. She is always very friendly, patient and helpful and I feel like a valued patient.

Well, the first appointment went ok, I thought.  The people were nice.  The eye doctor was pretty nice and friendly.  But he was being bothered a lot by his allergies, that day, and had to cough a lot.  Not sure if that affected his "diagnosis" of my eyes, any.  And I say that, because when we got the glasses, they were totally impossible to deal with.  They tended to create a "pulling" feeling in my "good" eye, which really bothered me, and made them unwearable for me.  So I don't know if he got the prescription wrong, or the opticians did.  The lenses could have been ground wrong.
But I finally had the time to go back about a month later, after letting them know the glasses were wrong.  And I requested a different eye doctor, for a 2nd opinion, just in case the first doctor got it wrong, maybe because of his allergies, that day.  She said he might have gotten the prescription in my good eye a little too strong, which could be why I was getting the "pulling" sensation.  So she rewrote the prescription for a slightly lesser strength.  Haven't gotten the new glasses, yet, so don't know if I'll be able to wear the new ones, yet.  Hope so.
And we decided to go with bifocals for the new glasses, hence it taking a little longer to get.  'Cause the first pair I totally couldn't use with my laptop.  Totally blurred.  So the bifocals should give me the close up for the 'puter, and the distance for watching tv, and driving, which is the main reason I went here.  DMV wouldn't pass me on their eye test, anymore, darn it.  Getting old, ha, ha.
Overall, a pretty nice place, pretty nice people.  The guy who rewrote up the eyeglass details said he would waive the difference in price for the bifocals.  I really appreciated that.  So we'll see how the new glasses work out--or not.

He's an excellent surgeon and eye doctor. Because of the surgery, I can go without glasses and go out and drive a car. I do need glasses for close-up reading. I've gone to him for a number of years and so did my mother. I would recommend him. Like any doctor, he is busy.

An assistant did the eye examination and recorded the results.  The Dr. came in and interpreted the results.  I have had head aches and he identified a possible reason and recommended and eye exercise to correct it.  He was personable and informative.

The optician that helped me choose the frames for both my eyeglasses and prescription sun glasses was THE best I have ever worked with in the 25 years I've been wearing glasses. She was knowledgeable, friendly and helped keep me from "decision phobia". I just wish I    had gotten her name.

My appointment was by referral. I was able to have an appointment in a reasonable amount of time for a non-emergency. I arrived on time, however they were running late. I first saw the optometrist who checked my sight. I then saw a technician who did some measurements and finally saw the Dr. Everyone was friendly and efficient.
