    Legacy Plumbing And Heating
Legacy plumbing provided us with excellent customer service, professionalism & knowledgeable skill set. When I called Drew, he returned my call right away. He answer all my questions. Drew scheduled the tankless water heater conversion right away that fit our schedule. Legacy plumbing also has great prices !! We have built & remodeled several homes and consider Legacy at the top of our contractors list for plumbing.

    My Plumber
Excellent ! Rafeal is a honest, hard working gentleman who could be retired, but works because he loves what he does ! He is very conscientious and explains why things work and dont work. He even had me check under the sink so that I would understand what he was doing. I was so interested, he explained how he did the work, so techinlcally, I could do it in the future (but I dont trust myself!). He is trustworthy and I left him in my house alone. I have had him repair plumbing at my home twice, and I will definitely use his services again !! Of note is that he picked the cheaper alternative for me....rather than doing a quick and more expensive fix. You cant go wrong with Rafeal !!

I called Brian on Wed afternoon and he returned my call before the end of the day. I explained my issue and needs and he set a time convenient for me to come with the part ready to install the next day. He was there on time and got the job done quickly and efficiently. He is a great plumber and a good guy.

Service man did the work, flushed the water heater and lines, but additionally replaced angle valves, supply lines, and fill valves on two toilets and a flapper on one without consulting me first. Shotgun replacement is not my preferred fix, considering environmental impact and waste, especially if no problem is being solved. I personally verified that both toilets were working well the night before the service, the tanks were " full of rust " on the invoice, but only had an iron stain and discolored water. I replaced the kitchen faucet on my own after service man recommended a cartridge replacement. 2 shutoff valves and risers: 184.14 new fill valve: 120.24 new fill valve/flapper: 232.25 water heater flush: 74.26 (was offered free by service man conducting previous sewer re-pipe, mentioned this to service man and office before service) All I asked for was a system flush, no more. My overall recommendation after two jobs: this is a company delegating responsibility and oversight to individual contractors in the field who are separated from management. Be careful of varying work quality, manage your service provider to ensure only the work you want is done. Inspect the job thoroughly to request improvements before he/they leave the site.

    Big Angelo's Plumbing & Heating
We had a gas leak under our home. PGE turned off the gas and told us to get a plumber to find the leak and correct it
I called my (at the time) go to plumber company - Big Angelo's.
To their credit they were very responsive and to my house in less than one hour!
Pretty much my satisfaction ended there and my previous glowing endorsement and referrals  ended.
When their guy (Joe?) arrived we reviewed the situation. We checked for possibilities in the house (stove, dryer, etc.) then decided  that he needed to go under the house as originally suggested.
To find a gas leak, air is pumped into the gas line and hissing noise is sought out.
Joe was on his own and though he had a pump, his pressure gauge did not work, so he could not be sure that the line was holding air. I volunteered to pump the bicycle pump to ensure there was pressure in the line while Joe crawled under the house to find the hissing. In 5 minutes, the leak was found. He said he could hear it as soon as he got under the house.
He did not have all the parts to fix the corroded line, so we agreed to cap it and fix it another day. The line fed a fireplace, so not having it working was an OK option. PGE returned to confirm the leak was fixed and returned our gas service the same day!
Sounds like a positive story. So, why the poor review? Price GOUGING! Joe was at my house for less than 1 hour - Cost = $275! What an incredible rate! Certainly not the rate previously charged for other work at my home. No detail was given on my bill to break out the charges, so I asked what I was being charged for. He said "finding the leak", and that crawling under my house was an automatic $150 upcharge! I have never been charged that previously by electrician, contractor, plumber, etc..
I also asked for an estimate to run a new line and told him to assume he would again have to crawl under the house. His quote $750.
Knowing that I had already been charged an outrageous sum for this first call, I held off on making an appointment for the additional work. I got another quote for $300 - $350, which I had done and was charged $325 for 2 hours labor, under the house and 15 ft of gas line and fittings.
Perhaps my previous positive reviews of Big Angelo's here on Angie's List had Joe thinking that I was a fan no matter what. The responsiveness was excellent and the work was done promptly, but the price gouge ultimately took away the previous good feelings and referrals. I might use these guys in the future, but I will be much more careful and on guard.

Everything BA said is true, still I don't think there was reason to attack me with " people like you take advantage of these review sites to write half-truth reviews".  If you view my previous glowing remarks about BA and my other reviews you will see it is not my pattern.
The responsiveness and punctuality was excellent - A
Quality (since I include communication here) - B
Pricing - C - IMO the fee was too much for one hour, whether I am desperate or not should not effect your pricing. Your quote for additional work , when considering the permit and additional time is NOT outrageous, but still higher than paid.
Professionalism. - B Downgraded for lack of complete communication and for your comments that make me the bad guy instead of a customer that hasn't been given enough information.

    Wilsons Plumbing & Heating
He said he would look for a pump because it would be quite costly. I found another price that was around six hundred. I found a new plumber and he checked everything out when he finished he started it back up and their was no problem. So I ended up not using them at all. I have been using them for many years and have never had a problem till this time.

Chris Wilson Plumbing & Heating Repairs Inc
dI was very satisfied with the quick and professional service and the job quality. There were two issues having to do with the ultimate cost that were a little bit unexpected and prevent me from giving a solid "A" review. First the job was done on an hourly rate and was estimated to take 3-4 hours - it took 7, which almost doubled my expected labor costs. Second, despite that I had all of the required fittings and pipe onsite, the contractor insisted on using (and charging for) his own fittings and supplies. My costs for these supplies were 3 to 5 times as much as the ones that I had already purchased. I do understand that he was more comfortable guaranteeing his work with parts of know quality, but the price differential was a bit unjustified. However, they bailed me out of problems caused by another contractor and I know that there were some unforeseen complications, so I give them extra points for that.

    Big Angelo's Plumbing & Heating

I had previously had another company cut roots from and scope the sewer line from the house to the main.
I was not home at the time of the work.
They reported that my line had severe breaks and needed to be replaced or relined. Cost would be over $10,000.
Of course, I wanted a second opinion on the condition of the line and need for repair.
Big Angelos came out - On Time and professional.
I told him why he was there and he allowed me to watch as he scoped the line and I could see for myself.
We watched as the camera clearly showed that the materials that the pipe was made from was not as described by the original plumber / con-man. Further, Big Angelo's showed me how the line was slightly damaged, but not anything that needed to be addressed for perhaps 10 years or more. Perhaps more importantly, the scope showed how the line was shared by my neighbor! If I had replaced or lined the pipe, I could have prevented my neighbor's sewage from draining.
He let the job be what it was. Meaning he was called to scope and assess the drain. That is what he did and he did it well. Explained  and answered concerns and questions and didn't exaggerate or try to upsell me into anything else.
I have since referred Big Angelo's to a property manager friend of mine and another home owner in Carmel. Both were very satisfied and keep Big Angelo's as their Go To Plumber.
I appreciate that they handle their business fairly / professionally. I wish more service companies were like this.

****See My updated review for Big Angelos. While this was a great experience, my most recent experience has me withdrawing support for the company and letting my friends know that unfortunately this is excellent experience is not representative of all their work. Too bad they couldn't continue to be fair.***

    Big Angelo's Plumbing & Heating
Lewis Dangreau, the plumber responsible for the job, also did the initial estimate. He arrived on time and wore shoe covers into the home without being asked to do so. He and all additional Big Angelo employees were at all times polite and professional.||The estimate was mid-range of the three obtained. Although not the cheapest, I selected Big Angelo's because of the positive impression Lewis made.||The installation began on time and was carried out in what I feel was a professional manner. It was a difficult job requiring running new hot and cold water pipe and a gas pipe into the small attic and a garage wall. Big Angelo's also installed a new roof jack through the existing cement shingle roof.  The hot water circulating system required the installation of a long run of pipe under the house all the way to the last bathroom fixture. The job and clean-up were completed in three days as promised. The job was permitted by Big Angelo's and passed Monterey County inspection with no corrections.||From this experience I would hire Big Angelo's for any additional plumbing projects with the certain expectation that I will receive a high quality product.|

    Hicks plumbing Inc.
Brian Hicks is a good plumber and is prompt to return phone calls and comes personally to do fixes. I called him and left him a message and he called within the hour.
One of the toilets has worked flawlessly for the last two months and we couldn't be happier about it because it had plagued our dreams for several years as to weather the tank would stop filly after every flush. The other toilet (and he warned us about the dangers with the Toto toilet we had and it's faulty flusher) which had worked better over the years and just started leaking, was fixed for a week or two and then the flusher gave out and now we need to get it looked at again.
I called Brian to take a look at a few more plumbing issues (kitchen sink, bathroom sink, and second toilet) five minutes before typing this review and though he has yet to return my phone call I am confident he will contact me soon, despite the fact that it is after 5pm.
