  I called Darrin in a rush because my elderly mother-in-law in San Jose got locked out.  I live on the East Coast but added Angie's List for the Bay Area last month to help her with finding reputable contractors for anything and everything.  It happened I was able to use it in an emergency as this.  I called and spoke to Darrin not knowing which deal I should get since Modern Lock had 6 specials (coupons) going on.  Within 20 min of that call, Darrin had dispatched a locksmith to my mother's house!  I could not have asked for better service, response time, and professionalism.  Highly recommend!!

  Lock & Key World

  Since we'd been living with the issues for several months and weren't in a hurry I sent an email to the company.  Sean said he answers emails in the evening, so if it's a more urgent need it's better to phone.  Sean arrived on time for our appointment and I took him around to the various doors showing him the problems. 
  He fixed the garage door first, I thought we needed a whole new assembly, but Sean found that the knob had been taken apart and put back together incorrectly, so if you firmly twisted the outside knob the door would open even though it was locked.  He re-assembled the doorknob correctly and didn't charge me for fixing the problem, saying he wished all his work was that easy! 
  Then the back door, there is a locking doorknob and a separate deadbolt, and we wanted the new keys to open both.  Sean dis-assembled both and took them to his vehicle to re-key, then re-assembled both, tightened the hinges to raise the door a bit, ground down the keep-plate in the frame so it would latch easier, and even oiled the hinges so they wouldn't squeak.
  Then the front door which wouldn't latch without using the deadbolt.  Sean tightened the hinges and ground the keep-plate a little more and now the door latches perfectly.
  Sean is very knowledgeable about everything regarding locks and keys and gave us very good advice and choices on what we needed to do.  He's very pleasant to work with and left us very happy with his demeanor and his work. Sean is definitely my go-to guy now for any issues with our doors or locks.

  Case Design Remodeling

  Went well overall.  We provided the lock sets and screen door to save labor time (handyman didn't have to buy and deliver those items so we saved time = money).  The handyman was on time and professional.  Installation went as we specified, although he did have to make an adjustment on the installation of the screen door due to poor door jam condition (appreciated his ability to adjust!).

  We were very impressed with Sean's courtesy and professional manner. He arrived early, and waited for us to get home while he did some work in his truck. He started right away. We had 2 bolt locks that needed fixing. He took both apart and fixed them. He worked on one at a time. One had a broken part and he warned us that he got it working but we might need to replace it in the not-too-distant future. It works great now. The other had a broken key in it, which we'd been opening and closing with the other half, which had worn out. He took out the key and helped us find its copy which we had amongst a lot of old keys. We got the 10% discount from the Angie's List coupon for Lock and Key World. We paid by credit card. We received a receipt immediately and I've received an e-mail receipt of the credit card.
