Drywall Repair reviews in Campbell

I have used Chandler's Plumbing several times for small things (toilet valve type of stuff) and also big projects (replacing water heaters). They have always been professional, thorough, and competitively priced (though not very punctual). The price always ends up as quoted or very close. Most recently we had an issue with a leaking water heater that resulted in some mold growth/drywall damage. Ishmael was able to quote a complete solution (mold remediation, drywall repair, replace water heater and leaking valves), meaning I didn't have to reach out to multiple companies and try to coordinate all their schedules together. After I pointed out that his workers tracked dirt all over the carpet, Ishmael immediately offered to pay to have the carpets cleaned (i.e. he took responsibility rather than making excuses). I would absolutely recommend them for any plumbing project, big or small.

We had to cut open a ceiling to do plumbing work in the bathroom upstairs. After the plumbing work we had to fix the ceiling, so that's where this company comes in. The repair went very well. The drywall guy patched the hole & re-textured the ceiling so well that we couldn't tell there had even been a hole there. He repainted it and now you can't tell there was ever a problem.

The project went really well. Jason within a phone call away for most of the project, and was able to relay our requests to his sub-contractors. He was able to finish the project in time and with a high standard of quality. Right from the initial interaction, to his sensible prices, to the actual project and ensuring you're taken care of, to final touches, we had a great time working with him. To this day, people who come to my house can never tell that my combined living and family rooms were ever two separate rooms at one point :)

Carlos arrived on time, worked neatly, professionally, efficiently, steadily and carefully, with great attention to detail. He used good judgment on when a second coat was needed, and even took down and put back up the window blinds, which made the painting of the window frames both more accurate and more efficient.

Ronnie's work took one day and blends well into pre-existing walls. It is difficult to tell new wall from old, so in my opinion, it was a job well done.
There was some confusion on the date for work to commence, so work was done one week later than originally agreed upon.

They were courteous, squeezed this smaller job into their schedule, and came on the date agreed. The work was done well, the ceiling is now in the same condition like it has been before the hole was made. I would use their service again.

Chris and his guys did an average to poor job.  I hired them because of the scheduling and their price seemed fair.  If I could do it again, I would have held out and hired someone else.
    Pros
    - they were friendly and easy to talk to, and relatively punctual
    - they gave advice on how to pick colors and were helpful in that regard
    Cons
    - their chalking work needs to be improved, but they will just blame the carpenters for doing a bad job of the installation
    - i have a bunch of paint drips on my door frames, doors, and other areas in the house, but instead of owning up and fixing the problem they again blame previous owners' painting abilities/prior painters/carpenters for those paint runs
    - they smoke, A LOT and it took about 2 weeks for the cigarette smell to clear from my garage
Definitely would not use them again.

I want to preface this by saying that previous to this review I had work performed by hector and his crew. They did a top notch job, but that is where it ended....
I called Hector back to perform drywall work on my bathroom based on his previous work he did for me. on 8/14/14 I called and spoke to Hector and explained the drywall project that I had and wanted quotes on.  We had a pleasant conversation and he said he would send over the quote that evening as he was at a job-site at the time. 8/15/2014 I still haven't received a quote as promised so I called hector and it went to voice mail. I finally had to call one of the guys that worked for hector just to get the quote sent to me on 8/18/2014. Hector called me later that day and apologized that he "thought" he had sent the quote and he wasn't sure what happened. I had the same exact experience on the last quote he sent to me. He talked about a job he was doing that was a re-do of another drywall guys shotty work. It was a full house multiple story and I asked hector with this job he is working on if he would have time for mine. I basically wanted to make sure he didn't over-commit availability. He assured me that he could start on 8/25 at 3:00pm.  3:30pm no one is showing up so I called hector to see if he and crew were still coming. It went to vm immediately and said something to the effect that he had to hash out some citizenship stuff. Okay I understand stuff happens, just call me and let me know you can't make it. I left a message and never did get a call back. 8/26 I call in the morning and actually speak to hector. He apologizes and commits to starting on 8/26 at 3:30pm. 3:45pm no one shows up, so I called hector and he was "leaving another job and on his way". Hector calls me back some minutes later and lets me know he is not going to make it and will be sending 2 of his guys, which he says is having a hard time reaching via cell. he asks me if he can try to get hold of them and he will call me back. An hour goes by and no word from Hector. I finally call his guys myself and amazingly enough they pick up on the first ring. They literally had no idea that they were suppose to go to my house and perform any work. The fault was then placed on a painter that he had contracted to prime the walls before they could continue. I explained why would you paint before you mud and drywall was hung and they agreed it did not make sense. Finally never did get a call back from hector to this day. I called his employee and told them that I felt the communication and professionalism here were very poor and that unfortunately I would need to hire another drywall contractor.

I want to preface this review with saying I am in that 2% of people that are very
anal. So it is very difficult to please me.
I met with Ofer and his assistant Hilary on 3/13/2014 for an estimate of the project.
They took measurements of the room and I showed Ofer exact pictures of what I would
like built, as depicted in a home Improvement website. All 3 of us discussed every
detail of the project from what it would be framed with, dimensions, materials used,
    and estimate of completion.
I explained to Ofer that once they framed the soffit I needed time to complete the electrical work. This is because I would be wiring all of the recessed lighting. He couldn't have been cooler about this "no problem"!
Another thing I explained to Ofer was that extreme
care must be taken since brand new hardwood floors were installed recently and can't
be damaged. He explained to me that they would put multiple layers of painters paper
down, and "Ram Board" on-top it. Ram board is basically a heavy duty cardboard
that's used to protect the floor area during construction and painting. If you drop
something on ram board it will cushion it from denting the floor (well within reason).

Ofer listened to every detail of what I would like constructed and from memory was
able to walk through every intricate detail. If there was any ambiguity about how I
wanted a particular item completed he asked me for clarification. I was very impressed
with this! I knew right away that Ofer was extremely detailed, and had a high level of
comfort that he would get this project completed with top-notch work. He is very easy
going and willing to bend over backwards to do what it takes to ensure you're happy.

Much to my surprise Ofer was able to offer me a bid for the work to be completed on
the spot.Never in any dealings with OTHER contractors were they able to give me a bid
on the spot, this usually takes days of lag time. He offered me a fair and highly
competitive price for the work to be completed. I hired him for the job and he said
he would be ready to start construction on the following Monday 3/17/2014. I couldn't
believe how painless and fast this process was moving.
Marco who was the foreman for the job, was introduced to me by Ofer. He would be the
point man for every detail of this project. Marco and crew showed up on-time at
8:00am on 3/17/2014 and we discussed the project. They immediately started laying down
multiple layers of painters paper and than ram board on-top of it. They were very
careful as not to tape directly to the floor (masking tape can mar a newly finished
    floor).
Marco and team than began building and framing the soffit. I couldn't believe how
fast they worked without sacrificing quality of the job. They multiple times would
check everything with a level before moving onto the next section, to ensure it was
    perfect.
I know from experience that a lot of contractors do not really like you "watching and
critiquing while they work", but Marco and crew invited it! If there was anything I
had a question about along the way or wasn't happy about they fixed it on the spot.
Marco and his crew would stay late to ensure they could complete the job in 3 days.
Sure enough the job was completed on-time and exactly on budget with the original estimate.
The finished Product is WOW!!! The Framing straight, the mouldings mitre edge is
exactly 90 degrees with no gap! The edging they did where the new sheet rock of the
soffit meets the ceiling, you can't even tell where where it was taped. It is blended
    perfectly.
At the completion of work Ofer and Marco ensured that I was in every way 100% satisfied with the work. I was and I handed them the check.
If you're looking for very high-end work with a precession fit and finish than I would look no further to Ofer and his crew. They will ensure that everything is right and you're 100% satisfied.

It came out beautifully. The workers were very friendly, considerate on time and knowledgeable. I feel they delivered more than promised, worked amazingly hard and respect their employer as well as the customer. I lucked out finding these guys! Thanks Angie!
