    CENTRAL PACIFIC SVC
Courteous and professional; however they didnt notice that we had a second section of our house. They went back under after pointing that out. They gave a rough quote to tie down the house and promised a written quote later that never came (I never followed up to get the quote)

    Quick Plumbing Services
Richard and his crew at Quick Plumbing are great and I would highly recommend them to anyone considering any plumbing service needs.
I had Quick Plumbing at the house earlier in the year to snake my sewer system for roots from the large trees in my yard.  When I had more sewer back-up issues about 3 months later I called Richard and told him to bring his sewer line camera so that we could see what was going on.
Clearly visible with the "snake-cam",  every joint in my old clay-pipe system was fully penetrated with dense network of roots from the large trees in our yard. I knew I had to bite the bullet and replace the sewer line, as the roots would continue to be a problem.
I did my due diligence and shopped around for 3 quotes and Quick Plumbing was very competitive.
Initially, we thought the sewer line ran straight down the side yard to the street, but after the first day of digging from the old house clean-out,  they discovered that the line took a 45 degree turn half way down the yard, right under my 2 large 30 year old Japanese Maple trees.  Quite the dilemma; knowing that the roots from these trees were causing the problem, but did not want to lose the trees to trenching.
After expressing my concern over damaging a tree, his crew actually dug under the mature root ball and did not have to cut any roots larger than 1" in diameter, and ultimately saved the tree. Additionally, when the sewer line ran under my newly installed hand-set stone walkway, the crew again tunneled under saving me the heartache of having to replace a large segment of walkway.
As part of my agreed upon bid price, we had decided to install a future water pipe in the trench and cap the ends, in case the original old 55 year old galvanized water pie failed in the future. This would allow me to reconnect my water line from the house to the city system without having to re-trench at a later date.  Unknowingly, the water line ran nowhere near the sewer line and they had to dig a separate trench to install the false line.  Richard did not ask for more money to have to dig a separate trench. He stayed faithful to his original bid.
His crew was efficient and respectful of the surrounding landscaping and worked very hard so that the old line was out and the new line was in during a single afternoon while at work,  so that I did not have any "down-time" with respect to not having functioning bathrooms and showers.
Probably most importantly, was Richard's communication and professional attitude during the whole job.  He understands that he is in a service oriented business and always kept me informed of the progress of this big job.
Based upon my experiences with them, I would highly recommend Quick Plumbing to anyone considering any plumbing needs.

    Cools Custom Remodeling Inc
Initial contact and quote were timely. I got a quote for labor only, as I was purchasing tile and fixtures.
However, quote did not take into consideration code requirements (smoke/carbon monoxide detectors and 20 amp electrical upgrade, items which were paid for as change orders) nor did it include moving vent and plumbing for recessed medicine cabinet (which I had on site) and for which installation was requested, and which was not done. I did receive a small credit for this.
Owner and salesman did not honor either the coupon on their website or the Angie's List discount, as they said I did not present a coupon upon quote being given. I would think since my quote request listed Angie's List as the referral that would be enough to warrant honoring that discount.
The crew did mostly decent work, with a couple small items which I would have liked done a bit better.
Demolition crew was cleaner than remainder of workers, so now my carpet has a lot of spots.
Communication could have been better, as some days workers showed up with no advance warning. This may have been due to the project manager quitting in the middle of the job. Job took about 5 weeks.
I did get a lien release, but this was done after proving that I has requested this within their 30 day window (which seems unprofessional) and after several requests.

    JH Construction & Remodeling
We have used JH Construction at our house in Campbell for several jobs, including replacing a window with a sliding glass door and an exterior deck for the new door.  During installation, Jim (the owner of JH Construction) discovered that the old window had been leaking and ended up doing major structural work on the wall and sub-floor.  Jim, his workers, and his sub-contractors did a great job.  They were able to exactly match the stucco and paint on the outside of the house so you can not tell that where the old joins with the new.  They set up barriers to keep dust out of the rest of the house and did a fantastic job of cleaning up the job site at the end the work day.
Based on the excellent work JH Construction had done at our house in Campbell, when we bought a house near the Russian river, we contracted with JH Construction to do extensive work on the new house.  This included rebuilding a huge deck (over 1000 square feet) that had rot in the joists (and it turned out that the rot had spread from the joists, to the ledger and into the wood siding on our hose).  They also put in new foundation anchor bolts, did a minor kitchen remodel (electrical and plumbing work), moved a sink in the laundry room, removed the old hot water heater and installed a new hot water heater in a new location, replaced some water lines, ran new gas pipes, fixed leaking plumbing in one of the bathrooms, replaced sheetrock in several locations, replaced some rotting exterior trim and wood siding, and repairs to the interior doors and molding.  Jim also recommended an HVAC contractor who installed a new central heating system for us.  We were very pleased with all of the work and we are planning on using JH Construction in the future when we remodel the kitchen and one of the bathrooms.
It is very important to us that anyone working on our house does the job right, doesn't cut corners, and always keeps the work site clean.  Jim, the owner of JH Construction, shares the same attitude.

    Richie Bobcat and Hauling
Dropped off heavy equipment the night before. We got the city permits ourselves. Richie did all of the demo one day, waited for the interim inspection, then did fill the next day. Our electrical panel was kind of a mess, so he called an electrician to do the circuit removal.

    Left everything immaculate.

    Nexxus Remodeling Inc
The work was begun and finished in a timely manner. The necessary permits, materials, etc. were procured, and the work began in a week and competed within two weeks. The contractor stated that he would have it completed within a brief time-line and the work began and ended when he said it would and within budget. The completed job met our expectations and passed inspection without a problem. We recommend this company without hesitation for the contractor's due diligence and focus on the process of the work and leadership guiding the project from start to finish and expediting it to a successful conclusion.

    Speers Construction, Inc
Speers Construction out of 7 contractors is the only one I would promote and recommend. Extremely helpful and cooperative in implementing change during construction.
