I contacted San Diego Kitchen Pros and 3 others about a quote for both options, but only 2 replied and came out. The SDKP representative called me back 24 hours later and said she would get back to me the next day, but really didn't called me back until 48 hours later. So after 3 days of waiting, she calls and explains that that she could schedule to have someone come out to inspect and give a quote, but would charge me $250. I was not only disappointed that she took so long, but also was surprised at the amount. I would have paid for a quote, but not this high and because it took 3 days for them to get back to me, forget it. What they didn't know, is that my insurance had agreed to replace my CUSTOM cabinets with the same quality and price. I'm glad I learned what kind of business they are now, because I imagine the problems I would have experienced if I gave them my business. In the end with my insurance agreeing to replace all my custom cabinets, I decided to use another cabinet maker that I found on this site with great reviews, super nice, very responsive and didn't charge me to come out.

    Capri Stone
Alan at Capri Stone is fantastic.  He has completed three separate kitchen counter tops all which are beautiful.   He took our ideas and  pulled together a design that was within our budget.  He is hands on from creating the design for the template, demolition, hauling away, installation and clean up.  He will answer any questions or concerns you may have immediately and his quality of workmanship and professionalism is first rate.  Capri Stone is top- quality and I would have no doubts about recommending Capri Stone to anyone.  All three of my kitchens look amazing.  Excellent craftsmanship and quality of product.

He gave me a great deal. He gave me beautiful granite countertops that were made and installed on schedule. They did it when they said it was going to be done. They were right on time. Their price was better than anybody else. When they did the work, they were so precise, professional and clean. They had to drill a hole once they install the countertop to put in my new faucet. As the other one was drilling, the other one has a vacuum right next to where he's drilling. It's sucking the dust off. When he was done, there's no dust anywhere. I can't even see the seams. They were very good. They did good work.

Paul's crew was excellent.  They worked on our house as if it was their own.  They are true professionals. They did no damage and worked diligently through the day. They were on time.  They made suggestions to make things more beautiful or easier for us when the job was finished.  Paul was over at my house 2-3 times a week depending on what was going on at that point in the construction, and we appreciated that because he lives 45 miles from my house.  If we wanted to change something, Paul would give us both sides of the consequences of doing the change.
For most of the job, things went very smoothly.  We did have some delays, but they were do to problems with 1) getting 3 slabs of granite which we had to pick out 4 times because they would only have 2 slabs and we would have to wait for the next set of slabs which didn't look like then ones we liked.  Or picking out 3 slabs only to get them to the manufacturer who called us because the granite had polishing circles on it. Or 2) the cabinet manufacturer was 3 weeks late getting the cabinets to us.  But these things were out of Paul's control.  What he did do was keep his crew working on other things while we waited for the items to come in.
One thing that was very refreshing was that Paul was very levelheaded and didn't get upset over things we wanted to change.  He didn't take things personally. He would consider it, talk to his crew to get their input on the pluses and minus of the change and then talk to us to make sure we wanted to do it.  He wanted us to get everything we could and worked hard to make that happen.  He is a professional contractor and acts like it.  The kitchen is beautiful.  We are so happy with it.  It just feels comfortable and also feels like it fits in with the rest of our house.  The cabinets are a deep cherry and they have many things designed into them to make them functional, yet gorgeous.  The crew did a great job replacing the large , slate tile around the island after they pulled it up.  The kitchen really trips our trigger.  Thank you, Paul and your crew, for making our dream kitchen a reality.

My biggest complaint is they were suppose to curve all four edges of granite to flow with my huge farmhouse sink. they only rounded out the back so on site at my home they tried to round out front of the granite to flow with the sink.  they pieced in some as well. doesn't look very good.  Hopefully I'm the only one who will be noticing it.

    GNA Construction
It went very well - from the very beginning, Nick and Lorraine were responsive and helpful. They understood what we needed, and went right to work. Lorraine's design was better than anything we could have dreamed, and Nick's woodwork is amazing. There was a lot of very challenging framework involved in this job, and it went beautifully. The ceiling and roof work was complicated and difficult, and went without a hitch.

    Back To Perfection Inc
Contacted them via email (their phone line connectivity via the 1-800 number never seemed to work) on Sunday and had the job scheduled and completed within the week. They provided an accurate estimate (but you need to know how to figure out your square footage of countertop and the color). Contractor arrived and was very professional, pointed out what he was doing and completed the job when he said he would. Very pleased overall and much cheaper than replacing the countertop.
