    I first went to Angie's List and made a request for the date of service, but then since it was close to the week-end I called him directly and we made the appointment right then over the phone for Friday.
    Friday came and he arrived right on time ... I liked how he worked and how he was around me since he was very sociable and easy to be with during this time, which is something which I think is very important when we have someone coming into our homes.
    He carried out the work very quickly and easily, taking all of the food out of the freezer first and placing everything on the kitchen counter.  He defrosted the frozen water - ice - in the freezer - which was about two inches thick - with a steam defroster.  He also mentioned that using a hair dryer, as I had originally planned to do, would not have been a good idea since the hot air from it would likely melt the plastic in the freezer ... glad that I didn't do it!  After about 40 minutes he had everything defrosted and starting to put back together again.  When he was finished getting everything together - and looking behind the refrigerator to make sure that everything was all right there, he slid the refrigerator back into place and put all of the food back where it had originally been, saying that we should be careful not to cover the openings to the condenser which is on the back bottom part of the freezer, since this would not let the cold air move through the freezer the way that it should.
    After he had completed his job he showed me a small three inch piece of plastic, which must have come from a turkey or chicken wrapping, which possibly had been torn off and made its way to the drain where it blocked the water from going down the drain and thus caused the water/ice to build up each time the freezer defrosted, which he said cycled about every four hours.  Good to know ... not to let any pieces of thin plastic bag parts stay in the freezer or this could happen to you, too! 
    Altogether, an exceptionally easy and interesting time to watch him work ... he is very knowledgeable and he doesn't mind our asking him questions or watching him work - he actually said that it makes his time more enjoyable since it can be kind of lonely working by himself for so many hours.  He is the kind of person who seems to be at easy with people and is very likeable at the same time.  I will definitely use him again!
    As an addendum, the refrigerator didn't get cold enough the first night after he left, so I called him and he returned right away and fixed the problem, which was that somehow the fan wasn't working right, so he corrected whatever it was that caused it not to work ... and now we have had everything working since then.  Didn't take long this time ... only about 15 minutes.  And he wasn't in a hurry this time, either ... very pleasant!

    Omar took the doors home to work on them.  He brought them back with the paint peeling off.  We found that he used paint plus primer and never put primer on our glossy cabinets.  He claimed it was Lowe's fault for selling him this paint.  However when we went into Lowe's they were the ones that told us what he had done wrong. 

    We gave him the chance to sand off the paint, primer the doors and repaint.  However we want it done at our home so we know the steps taken to complete the cabinets.  Now we are no longer able to contact Omar so tomorrow morning 4/16 we will be going into Vista Court and filing small claims to have him pay the other cabinet refinisher to sand down the old paint from our cabinets. 

    Do not use Omar or Southland Refinishing.

    This company was sent out to us for repair our refrigerator under our service contract. Right now it's the Monday before Thanksgiving and Antech apparently does not care that our refrigerator is not working thanks to the "repair" that was done Saturday. On Saturday their technician replaced the ice maker. Sunday morning (yesterday) we woke up to a warm refrigerator. The "customer service" lady said they had no appointments until next month. And she was sure that an ice machine replacement had nothing to do with the refrigerator not working. She was supposed to have her manager call me but he shined it on. We discovered that it was the technician's fault. He had put the unit on "in-store demonstration mode" which left the lights on inside the unit but turned off the refrigeration. The technician forgot to turn it back to regular mode when he left. Oh, and by the way, the ice maker does not work! Do not let these people touch your appliances!

    I have had a number of repairs on it, but I always request American Home Shield, because they understand the appliances and problem solve. I get personal service. The appointment was made promptly, arrived on time and resolved in one visit. They often have parts with them and will return promptly if there is still a problem. I have confidence in them. American Home Shield always follows up to see if an appointment is made and service is completed.

    On the first visit Josh  came in and determined that the dishwasher needed a mounting bracket that was not supplied with the dishwasher.  We agreed that in was best to wait for a bracket and as soon as the part arrived I would be notified.  I asked if I would be charged for that days visit.  His answer,  "No we don't work that way" .  I was impressed!
    When the part arrived I got a call from there office and arranged time and date.  Josh showed up as promised and did the job professionally, tested the dishwasher, and did the cleanup. I will use Assure Plumbing anytime I need plumbing work.

    I found Jason on Angie's list and contacted him through his web site.  I scheduled a call a few days in advance to see if he could repair my ice maker that was not making ice at all.  He contacted me to confirm the appointment.  He called again the morning of the appointment to re-confirm.  He showed up right on time.  He quickly diagnosed the problem and said I needed a new ice maker, and showed me why.  He came prepared with a new one.  Within about 10 minutes, he had completed the job.  He showed me a couple of things, gave me some quick instructions about dumping the first batch of ice, and was on his way.  I was pleased.  The price of $218 included the ice maker itself and his labor.
    Shortly after he left, I found out that my garbage disposal needs to be replaced also.  I called him to schedule his next visit to replace that appliance.  Based on this experience, I will use Jason in the future whenever I need an appliance repaired.

    Alex determined that the motherboard was broken and that it would cost $300 ish to replace.  He recommended buying a new dishwasher.  He gave us some recommendations of some models that he liked.  He also made some recommendations for a filter for the new dishwasher to help prevent calcium buildup as well as using a rinse agent in the machine.  Very helpful and professional.

    Jason was very professional. Being in the construction industry myself, i expect certain things from workers being in my house. Jason showed up on time, had all proper tools, and was swift with his quote. I felt very comfortable with him here and knew I was in good hands.     When my elderly mother's refrigerator/freezer began to malfunction, my brother and sister-in-law in Poway highly recommended B and B Appliance....and so when I saw that B and B Appliance was also on Angie's List, I decided to give them a try. From my initial call to their service department, I knew I was in good hands. I was provided the option of an early or late appointment with the promise that the service technician would call me prior to arriving. I chose the morning appointment time between 8:30 am and 10:30am--and at 7:30am, I received a call from service technician "JR" who promised to be at my mom's door between 8:30am and 9am...and at 8:27am he pulled up in the B and B Appliance repair van (the van was newer, waxed, washed, and clearly marked for my peace of mind). "JR" came to the front door, introduced himself, introduced himself to my elderly mother, and repaired the issue with the freezer/fridge. "JR" was very, very professional and very, very polite, respectful, and patient with my mom and showed her what the issue was with the freezer/fridge. "JR" was thoughtful, courteous--and CLEAN! He made certain to lay all of his tools down on a large blanket to protect my mom's floor and when the job was done, he made certain to clean up any water that dripped out from the defrosting freezer. Because B and B Appliance are busy, the first appointment was two days out from when I called--however, I wanted to see if Angie's List really worked and so I just bought dry ice for the two days and kept my mom's food cold in the fridge/freezer--and I am very happy that I waited for B and B to arrive. I made certain to ask for a "best guess" as to what the estimate would be to repair my mom's fridge/freezer so that there would be no surprises and so that I could also consider my options before work began...which included only paying for the $85 service fee and then going no further so that I could buy my mom a new fridge/freezer just in case the cost got too pricey. The total bill was $185.88 and that landed within my mom's budget and so "JR" completed the work in about an hour.So...not only did my bro and sis-in-law recommend B and B Appliances, so did many other reviewers on Angie's List...and so will I! If you want a professional technician who is patient and kind, ask for "JR" !!
