Deck Building reviews in Cameron Park

  • Everything went very well. They got the house wrap completed just before the rain. Even worked on Saturday after the rain to make up for lost time. It is like a new house and we are very happy.

  • We had a little difficulty in connecting schedule-wise because he is very busy, but he was very courteous and considerate in notifying me of conflicts. We walked the location and talked about what we are looking for, and he was very knowledgable and was able to make recommendations on the best way to handle different issues (stair direction/landings/etc).

  • I just wanted to let people know that the established delivery for the materials prior to the job was done in a timely manner. They kept us informed if there were going to be any breaks in regards to the initial construction. The three man crew were always on time and concerned with our property. They did their very best to clean up after themselves. The crew boss was very responsive and informative with any questions we had. We were very pleased with the end result of both of our new decks and we would reccomend Straight Line to anyone.

  • 1)Dry Rot Repair : The new siding and old siding does not match up. Gaps all along the 30ft length of the house.
2)Sheetrock in Garage: Not complete. I stated to Jason on the Bid day that the fire wall sheetrock had priority. Not done.
3)New Door for access to cover 4ftX4ft access opening under house. Jason on Bid day stated that they would build a door that would look nice and match the house siding. What they put together; a cut 4x4 made into a square with a piece of chicken mesh wired tacked to it.
4)10 GFCI Duplex Outlets; I was in the kitchen and pulled my cell phone plug out of one of the new GFCL plugs. The whole GFCI  plug came out of the wall cover and all.
5)At the time of the Bid I mentioned to Jason that I was going to remodel and get new appliances. He asked if I wanted to donate my old appliances to a gentleman that was getting a new kitchen and did not have a lot of money. I said that would be fine. They took the appliances I was not there. They stated that the dishwasher  line was leaking so they turned my water to the home off. I had some issues with other workers (cleaners) that needed water. I had to orchestrate work done and water/no water issues from three hours away.  Longer story short. When I got up to the house I saw what was leaking went to home Depot and bought a nut/cap cost $3. I turned the water to my house back on.
I am not going to have 3D back for the bigger items on list 2 and 3.

  • We have previously used Straight Line to replace our roof.  When we got a referral for deck work from our neighbor, we contacted them to see about repairing our deck.
We had another bid, but found that Straight Line's cost was a little lower.  We did have to wait a few weeks for the work to be done due to their full schedule, but they completed the work in one day with excellent results.  The owner called several times before the work was done to let us know the approximate date of service, then followed up after the repairs were completed to make sure we were satisfied.
They were scrupulous in cleaning up after the work was completed.
Since this is our second excellent experience with Straight Line, I would not hesitate to recommend them.  We will be having them back to replace a couple of retaining walls in our yard.

  • The project started on time.  The removal of the old concrete deck was a much bigger job than expected.  The concrete was much thicker near the house than at the pool.  This took more time and much more equipment than was planned to remove the old deck. This extra work did not increase price of the contract!!  The rest of the job was done to the forecasted schedule.  The quality of the work at all phases of the project was great.  The crew cleaned up every night before leaving the work site.  That was a big plus given the large amount of concrete and soil that had to be removed from the backyard to the driveway.  When the job was completed management created a punch list of items that needed to be fixed ( i.e. sprinkler head was broken in the construction)
or changed.  That list was completed in a sort time frame.  The contractor was very very responsive.

  • I hired an electrical contractor to install a whole house fan I had purchased. Unfortunately, that first company was unable to properly frame the hole in the wall to hold up the fan since their employees (they said) did not have sufficient carpentry skill. I then contacted 3D Benchmark who came out the same day I called them to view the work that was needed. We agreed on the price and the next morning two 3D Benchmark employees showed up exactly on time. They built a very solid custom framing system in the wall and hung the fan. They also attached the electrical cord of the fan to the house's electrical system. I was extremely satisified with the professionalism the 3D employees exhibited.

  • Deome Builders are very much in demand which is why I had to wait several months to have them build my deck. But the entire build experience and the final product was well worth the wait. I must admit that I was a bit skeptical at the start that I wouldn't get all that was promised to me for such a good price. Perhaps the workmanship or materials would not be good quality? After all, you usually get what you pay for, right. But, to my amazement and total appreciation, the deck building process and the finished product turned out to be beyond my expectations. The four-man, professional building crew arrived at the appointed day and time and immediately started surveying the build site for an 18 ft. x 16 ft. deck. After digging holes for the nine footings and pouring the concrete footings, the crew then quickly built the deck framework which consisted entirely of extra sturdy, treated Douglas fir. They even reinforced the entire half of the deck (9ft. x 16 ft.) to accommodate a future hot tub! Next came the decking material itself which was the better grade of Trex composite. The great build price also included 50 feet of upgraded, hammered & powder-coated railing, installed in 7 sections. The entire deck project was completed in only five days. Since the building crew didn't mind me hanging around, I really enjoyed watching them put the deck together, from start to finish. Not only were they well experienced and real craftsmen in all aspects of the building process, but they were also very friendly towards me. They eagerly answered all of my layman questions and even shared with me some of their "tricks of the trade" in building decks. In summary, I couldn't  ask for a better, higher quality and more beautiful deck! Not  for even thousands of dollars more. And that's not even considering the low price I paid, compared to what other builders had offered. Thank you Deome Builders for making my custom, dream deck become a reality! Thanks, too, to the terrific crew who built my deck. I certainly recommend your company to anyone who wants to have a beautiful, high quality, custom made deck built for them, at a truely reasonable price. It has been a real pleasure doing business with Deome Builders!

  • He has been around a long time. He finds creative ways to fix things. He is an English man.  We used his services a couple of months ago. He helped with landscape improvement as far as putting some cement and borders around planting areas we  had just put in.  We have used him for electrical, handicapped modifications. We have used him to put in a beautiful welded rail outside, deck stripping and restaining a large deck. He has built houses for people. He is very careful. If you come up with an idea and you are looking for options, 9 times out of 10, he will come up with an option as good that will cost less money. He will be putting a drainage area for us out in the yard. We have had bad experiences with other contractors, so we are very happy with him.

  • The job went professionally from start to finish.  I am an absent owner and could not be present for the actual job.  It was a relatively simple project as projects go.  It was finished on time and all scraps and garbage were removed from the site by the time the job was completed.   Would definitely consider using them again.  I rated the price as "good" because II did not get quotes on the job (because prior to this experience I had a very horrible experience with a window company) and felt that if the contractor was listed on Angie's List that was good enough for me at this point.  I think for any future project I will definitely get more than one bid.  But I am completely satisfied with the work and the final clean-up that was performed.
