    Mr Fix-it
Paul Vigil takes on too many jobs at once. It took him one month and 5 days to break up/remove the old cement and to pour a new cement slab. I was trying to get the slab done before the rains started. Because he took his sweet time, I had to wait after the storms were over and the ground to dry out. This job should only of taken 4 days! However after the work was finally done, the slab was done beautifully.

    Bill Haddad Concrete
Bill and his team did a great job. We highly recommend him to anyone that is looking for quality work at a reasonable price. His team was great and we appreciated how they keep our home area looking clean everyday while they worked.

    Etan Home Construction
This is my experience with Etan Home Construction on a small concrete project. Edward understood my 115sqft project very well from the detailed proposal I sent him. He soon met with me at the project site, refined his understanding and presented an acceptable quote. Work could begin in a very few days. I agreed and it did. The preparation was done on one day and the concrete pour was done the next. Edward had the right number of workers for the job on each day. They knew what to do and performed expertly, caring for my property in the process. The work has now been in place a little over a week and I can say that I am extremely satisfied.

    Fine Builders Inc
Fine Builders - They were amazing from the beginning, when they arrived and gave us the estimate, We had gotten 3 different ones before Fine Builders came to our home. We hired Fine Builders on the spot. They were prepared and extremely professional. They came when they said there going to be here, They always cleaned up after a day of work. The project was completed on time. Anytime we had a question or needed to add something to our project, they always called us back or stopped by. I love my bathroom, it is so modern and beautiful I get lots of compliments.i will definitely hire them again for my next project

    Legacy Pool & Spa
Seems like a nice guy but very unprofessional. I can't tell whether it's just lack of organization or if it's intentional misleading. If I'm paying $30K for a pool remodel, I should not need to call the vendor and schedule everything because I rarely received a phone call to update me. Nothing was pre-scheduled. It was like they were flying by the seat of their pants. They were not upfront with all costs in the beginning. I actually took the plumbing and plaster away from them because I felt they were lacking in honesty. I literally saved myself over $6K. I asked them for a specific plaster and sent the product number and photo. They sent me back a quote and I agreed. One day before plastering they tell me it's going to be over $2K more and asked if I would pay half. I asked them to come and remove their debris from my pool and pick up their final pay. If you use them, make sure you have them split out the cost of demolition and the cost of plastering. You will have to stay on top of them throughout the whole project. Not worth it.

    Archway Garage Doors & Gates
I had a garage door that I had built myself, 32yr ago, that was extra-tall (for my van at the time) and extra wide. It had become hard to operate and the new Genie I bought to open it failed in a week. I got a more powerful (3/4hp) Chamberlin opener and it worked OK for a couple of years, but as the door pivot mechanisms deteriorated, whenever the door got a little wet from the rain, it wouldn't open all the way. I got several estimates from different local garage door companies, but they all wanted to replace the door with segmented, metal roll-ups (which I don't like because of the overhead space they take). All except Archway. Archway suggested just replacing the pivot mechanisms, buying a 1 1/4hp Chamberlin, and they'd install the opener and the hardware for $900. Less than half the lowest estimate to replace the door. They came over about 9:30 and were done by lunch. Door works better than it every did.

    PACIFIC COAST GARAGE DOOR
Perfectly. They were easy to reach and were able to come repair the door less than 24 hours later and at a very reasonable price -- a lot less than I paid last time a spring broke. Very professional and they knew how to fix the problem immediately.

    Mike Lopez Cement Inc
It went very well. I was happy and thought the price was in line with the work he did. He took out plants, put in cvc under the driveway, and hauled away the neighbors dirt. He is a thinker and talks to you about what he is doing.

    805 Concrete Worx
I am a craftsman and a perfectionist. Whether it's one of my hobbies or a computer program I write for work, "good enough" is never good enough for me. And when I hire a professional to do what I don't have the strength or skill to do myself, I look for someone with the same high standards as myself. So, when I finally managed to save enough money to get rid of my disintegrating asphalt driveway, I found just such a craftsman in Andy Castanada and 805 Concrete Worx. Andy listened to all my concerns (particularly that the planters I had painstakingly built myself be undamaged) and all my hopes for what would be (after my house and my car) the most expensive thing I've ever bought. Because "me no speakee concrete", Andy took the time to explain exactly what he was going to do and why, and helped me design the look and select the colors. He shared my desire for a driveway that would be as beautiful as it was functional. I took the week off just so I could watch the process ("This Old House" in my own front yard!) In just one day Andy and his helper, Javier, had ripped out that eyesore of an asphalt driveway and by the next had prepped it for concrete: smoothing it with his tractor, compacting it with a one-ton roller and plate compactor, putting up forms, and tying down rebar.
Andy insists on getting the first batch of the day from his concrete supplier because that gives him the most time to work when the cool early morning conditions are optimal, so he and his subcontractor crew were there bright and early for the pour. It was a wonder and a revelation to watch his crew at work--they are just as much perfectionists as Andy and myself! They were fast and efficient with a keen eye to detail. "Good enough" was where they began their work; they finished at a level I can only describe as artistry! What really impressed me was the teamwork and enthusiasm they demonstrated. Pouring and finishing concrete is hard, heavy work, but Andy's crew attacked it untiringly and with pride. They were highly skilled and committed to creating a thing of beauty, and took joy in that creation--it was evident in the happy camaraderie between them and way they communicated with each other. Andy did the stamping and coloring himself, taking great pains to replicate the color scheme of my planters.
I've hired Andy to come back to pressure-wash and seal it, and to resurface my front stoop (which looks downright shabby next to that beautiful driveway). I only wish I had more for him to do, for he is a joy to work with. I recommend him unreservedly to anyone who wants any concrete work done.
Some contractors may have seen this as just another little suburban driveway, unworthy of any extra effort, but not Andy--he puts all his skill (plus that of the two generations of concrete men behind him) into it, and he works with subcontractors who share his drive for perfection. I am thrilled and overjoyed with my driveway: its artistry and beauty will enhance the "curb appeal" and value of my home for decades to come, but nothing can equal the soul-deep pleasure I get every time I walk across it and see the artistry that went into its creation.
