  • Repair person told me he had replaced the filter pump and tested the machine and that it was functioning. I then used the washing machine the next morning. Water overfilled the drum, broke the door open and flooded the room! He’d made the problem worse than before. I had a plumber check the line for clogs and there were none. I then had to pay another repair person who found the real problem and repaired the washer. Sears has been unresponsive other than to tell me to schedule another repair visit.

  • My experience with the company was excellent. On an initial visit, the technician Walter Cisneros diagnosed the problem and gave me a very good price for the work that needed to be done. On a return visit, he replaced all the working parts of the refrigerator--it is now basically a new refrigerator with a one year warranty. The work took about 4 hours. The cost of the initial visit ($125) was wavered. Walter is an outstanding representative for his company. He is professional, knowledgeable, personable and very pleasant to work with. The company was recommended to me by the Sub Zero factory and I would wholeheartedly support that recommendation.

  • I made a mistake. I thought I got the name of this company--with an address of 2363 Mariner Square Drive, Suite 141, Alameda, CA 94501 from Angie's list, but i must have just found it on the Web. I should be more careful. I telephoned on Friday, September 9, and an appointment was scheduled for Monday, September 12, between 2 and 5 p.m. At about 12:45 p.m. I received a text message that "Dr. Sal" was on his way. The message said not to respond. I thought this meant that he would probably arrive in 20 or 30 minutes. After an hour passed, I called the company and they said that they would text Dr. Sal and have him call me. No phone call, but he showed up 15 minutes later. He explained that the leak of dark liquid on the floor came from a tear in the existing flange. I had previously purchased the flange. He said it would cost $280 to install it. I asked how long it would take and said about half an hour. I asked how much they charged per hour, and he said they didn't charge by the hour but "by the job," and the job of installing a flange was $280. He said if someone didn't know what they were doing it would take 3 hours, but he could do it in half an hour and so, he reasoned, they charged by the job and not by the time it takes. This did not make sense to me and I felt the charge was excessive for a job that took him all of 10 or 15 minutes and required no parts. I felt I was being taken advantage of, but as I had reorganized my day for his visit and as he was already here, I agreed. If I had not accepted the estimate, I would have been liable for an $80 service call. He installed the flange satisfactorily. He said there was a "constriction" in the flow of frion causing an ice build up--he was probably right about this. He said the repair would cost $2500. I would not use this company again. If I need to correct the problem with the flow of frion, I will find a company on Angie's list and compare estimates.

  •  My Sub Zero refrigerator stop cooling. It was a time to replaced a compressor but I can`t do it my self. If you have the welding and brazing skills than you good! But I don`t and it is required special equipment, expensive equipment. Better to pay for professional service once and keep your mind clear from having the treble twice.  

    Some people do a job because they need to make money and some people clearly apply a level of love and care to their job that shines through in their work and professionalism. I can recommend this man! Wonderful service prompt and great price keep up the good job.

    If you want a guy from a company to come in a company truck and tell you about company policy, find someone else. If you want a guy to come over and fix your fridge and give you advice on how to keep it running, call Metro Appliance Repair

  • I called Mr. Rosano at 10am this morning to see if he could fix our Kenmore dryer that was no longer heating up. He told he was on a job in Castro Valley and would call me back once he was done. Just as he said, he called me back and was at my house before 11am! He arrived, assessed the issue, happened to have the part in his van, replaced the part and was finish in about 20 min. I was very impressed! He was timely, professional, and affordable. I will definitely call upon him again for any of our large appliance repairs.

  • So far they are very unprofessional and rude, to say the least!!! I asked specifically to send someone who could fix sub zero refrigerators & after waiting 3 days and giving me a 3 hour window they sent s very rude, insolent tech out who could not fix a sealed system, which all sub zeros are!  He sneered at me when I asked him to put on booties.  He wrote on a tag for me to sign " refrigerator has a problem - with sealed system.  This was after "telling" to empty the entire refrigerator all over the counters, which was horrible.  He them looked at for 3 minutes and closed up his tool box to leave, since he cannot do the job.  He will refer someone else.  He also told me that he has a sore back and works for a living - implying I might not (?).  He did not bring protection to put down his tools, clothes he took off, or protection for my hardwood floors when he needed to put the entire refrigerator shelves and drawers down somewhere.  This 31 year old guy's name is Jon.
    Now they will bring someone else back today, with another 3 hour window, who knows sub zeros and will analyze the problem and then order parts to return a third time.  I have rescheduled two business meetings, and missed one -- all very important.  So far they get a D-.

  • I called for an apt and got a window of 10-1.  Otto showed up promptly at 10, which was great because I didn't have to wait around all day.  He was pretty honest about the machine costing more to repair with the bearing plus the labor. I was better off buying a new washer.  Originally, I had called Sears because the washer is a Kenmore, but they couldn't come out till 7 days later!  YIKES!  I called Bay Appliance Tuesday morning and they were able to come out the next day.  Awesome. I would use them again if any other appliance acts up.

  • We had a great experience with Kim at Best Home Appliances.  Another repair service attempted to diagnose the problem but they were unsuccessful.  After calling several other providers, I was referred to Kim at Best Home Appliance because of his experience working on these models.
    He returned our call promptly but due to his busy schedule it was a couple of days before he was able to come out.  He did a fantastic job and was able to diagnose the problem and completely fixed it.  The price was very reasonable considering this was a complex job that required several hours.  We STRONGLY recommend his work without any reservation whatsoever.

  • Came home from a vacation to find our viking range wasn't working. Called a number of places as soon as we realized and Star Appliances was the only one taking after hours calls. Slava came the next morning and found out the issue in less than 5 minutes. He also looked at our other appliances and gave me tips on helping all of them work better. Will definitely call again if we have issues.

  • As I stated above, the whole job went well from start to finish. Both the person who set up the appointment and Dave were very pleasant, courteous, and knowledgeable. When I made the appointment, I was told that Dave would be the service person and what time he would arrive. During the service, I learned that my KitchenAid washing machine was made by Whirlpool. I also learned that I will NEVER purchase a rug with rubber backing again! Or, if I do, I will launder it at a commercial laundry. (It has taken me longer to complete this report than it took to repair my washing machine.)
