Went to Dr. Zebrack since he was one of my "dental HMO" choices. Chose him because he supposedly did his own cleanings, worked on one person at a time, and gave personal, good service. The waiting room and front desk were empty when we arrived even though it was mid-morning. The Doctor and his assistant were in one of the bays in back (out of sight, but not entirely out of hearing) working on a woman's filling, crown, or some such problem. After a few minutes, the assistant (a pleasant apparently new hire) appeared and took the paperwork I had printed out and filled in at home. She disappeared in the back. After a few minutes, an elderly woman came in the front door and asked us who we were. She did not identify herself, but dropped off some things and busied herself around the office. A few minutes later she asked me to come back to one of the rooms, asked me why I was there, and began putting together a cleaning kit. No x-rays even though I told her that was part of what I wanted (and it was part of a professional checkup in any event). She was the hygienist, and did a middling cleaning and polishing. She was in her 80's (not an exaggeration or guess, she said she was that old several times), and forgetfully asked a number of questions repeatedly. She also asked for advice on several matters, which was extremely unprofessional. After she finished, a few minutes elapsed then the Doctor hurried in. They consulted with each other in hushed voices in a corner over my new dental folder for a short time, and then he glanced in my mouth for a couple of seconds. The Doctor muttered "You grind your teeth [I don't], but that's just the way it is." Not another word, and he was gone. The one positive was no attempted upsell. Otherwise, a mediocre cleaning, unprofessional conduct, no x-rays, a farce of an exam, no interest, and no communication.

I have been a patient of Dr. Avanesian's for a year. I found him on Yelp because he has successfully treated people with small mouths and who gag real easy. He makes you feel very comfortable especially if you have any fears of the dentist. He will not do any dental work unless needed.

We have been using his services for about 8 years. He is very personable and knowledgeable. Even though I don't use it, he is an expert on sleep dentistry and implants, which is impressive. They keep their practice very family oriented and personal. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.

He is great. I can't say enough good things about him. They are great. I've heard from other patients that Manny is great, and Dr Arpin, she is fantastic. The entire staff is really friendly, they are great. Maria at the desk is wonderful. She has helped me out on a bunch of things. I completely recommend them. A lot of times they would even call me and say hey, we are ready for you early. If I can make it in early, or if I would show up early, they would take me early.

Very candid and direct manner. Friendly staff, ensures you are not hurting during the process. 4 family members had cleaning and x-rays. 2 family members had root canals. Prices were fair compared to other sent used we used in the area, but service and results were better.

I went to Hollywood Smile looking for a new dentist for the first time. After checkin the yelp reviews she looked promising. I couldn't have been more wrong. I have NEVER had such a horrific dentist experience in my life. It ended with me leaving the office sobbing, so if I can save someone the trouble with this review , it's worth it. I went in for my first check up and they made me pay cash up front. (this was my first time choosing my dentist, I didn't know what I was doing.) The dentist, Dr. Tamaddon was very friendly as were her staff. HOWEVER, Dr. Tamaddon had to keep coming out to the front to show her front desk people what to do and as I listened I realized her entire staff, which was made up of very young unprofessional twenty somethings, had no idea what they were doing. And she later told me they were new.. ALL of them. She took X-rays and told me I had EIGHT CAVATIES and a ROOT CANAL. She showed me the X-rays and explained everything. We ran out of time for my cleaning (which I had paid for up front) and told me we could do it next time. TO this day I have not gotten that cleaning. Panicked I decided to get the root canal done first since I had the insurance. It was my first time. I called her office later, asking two different office people if Dr. Tamaddon was an Endodontist because I'd rather go to a specialist than a dentist for my first root canal. They said yes she was, and that everything would be fine. I went in, the room that all patients go into is a long one with three chairs. so while she was working on me she would go over to some kid in a chair next me. DURING THE PROCEDURE. As she checked for my numbness an area wasn't as numb as the rest and rather than putting some topical anesthetic , she got out this victorian looking syringe thing, and I s*** you not, pushed it into my gum as I yelped and cried out. And she said " Good job, you took it like a man." And that's how my root canal began. There was a lot of blood, I could fast it, and feel it running down my throat. She said on several occasions that there was a lot of blood , but that she was going to try and do the entire thing in one sitting. The drill was low pitched and slow. It mad amy entire head vibrate and was so painful they had to partially hold me down and snap to hold still. Then she;d stuff some cotton in my mouth and go over to the little boy in the chair next to me to continue on his mouth. FInally she pronounced there was too much blood and we'd have to let it dry up a little. I left and never went back. I found an endodonist who found a fourth root she had not. Was painless and quick. She harassed and called me and my family trying to get me to come finish the procedure with her stating "it was almost done and the insurance won't pay of fit if you go somewhere else." I could NOT get the X-rays from them. They wanted me to pay twenty bucks for them, then the day I was supposed to come pick them up, she called and told me not to come in they were closed. It was very bizarre. Finally I got a bill in the mail saying I owed her over 600 dollars for the entire procedure, when I called her to tell her I would absolutely not be paying for it she got nasty and condescending. Said I had to. I spoke with my insurance and found out that billing for an entire procedure is fraud. So is not giving your medical records i.e. X-rays to you. I'm still in an insurance mess, apparently they can't get he medical records from her either. Now for the record, when I went to my new dentist, I had NO cavities (She said I had EIGHT) and I'm fairly certain I didn't need a root canal and now have to deal with that for the rest of my life. This was an awful, terrible experience; financially, emotionally and physically. RECAP: -Staff incompetent and lied to me about information they didn't know. - Got billed in cash, up front for services never done (teeth cleaning) - ignored my lack of numbness despite me crying out - terrible, old tools (bad drill) - billed my insurance for an entire procedure when she did half (badly) - got nasty and condescending on the phone. - won't send my new dentist, me or my insurance medical records (X-rays) - fairly certain I didn't need a root canal in the first place - lied about the amount of cavities -tried to bully me into finishing the procedure by lying

it went very well. He is a classical musician and so am I. He's a perfectionist. The only reason I had to change is that he no longer accepts HMO insurance, and did not give me any time to change to a PPO.

He had extracted the tooth 6 months ago which was an hour long appointment. The implant also took an hour. I have been a patient of his since June. His skills seem good and he is very personable. It has been a positive experience.

He is very calm and easy dentist. If one is terrified with dentists and if you have a small mouth and a bad gag reflex, and lsquo;he is the one'. He is just calms me down and I don't feel the fact that I had a root canal. He is really good. He goes out of his way to make me comfortable. They are pretty good on keeping their time.

Dr. P*** is always very friendly and talkative. The chair you sit in faces a window with a nice tree, so it's a pleasant environment. I'm always in and out of there with a clean set of teeth! It's always very easy to get an appointment as well. When I had family visiting from out of town, she needed an emergency fix (without insurance), and apparently his prices were still good without insurance.
